I wouldnt even bother changing the computer, there are plenty of xr6 turbos running huge amounts of power with a standard computer, that should be information enough, next time if you ask a dumb idiot a qst youll get a dumb ass answer as such is the case here. And if your after 400 rwkw you can get that out of the factory turbo...it will just be at its limit that's all.

  5. Any mods you do like cooler and exhaust will require a tune, you can take the chance if you like but it could end up costing you thousands in the end if your motor goes bang. Your choice.

After reading your post and seeing that you probably wont take it to the drags much...I would say that your better off not putting a convertor in and spend that money on something else...You wont use the full benifits of a convertor unless your at a drag strip, its there to get you out off the line quick and you wont be doing that on the street as youll just fry it. It will also change the drivabilty of your car somewhat and also increase fuel consumption. And that being said if your mrs is driving it in the wet and she stomps on the throttle when the convertor flashes up, it will be alot more agressive. My XR6T is a everyday workute and im running a custom 2800 convertor, I dropped my 60ft at the drags from 2.0 to 1.6, I do race it a fair bit , but if your not intending to much, I wouldnt bother...just my 2 cents worth. Its your decision good luck with it.

  8. Does that come with a 1 million km warranty ? You can get a 4 speed rebuilt for a turbo for around 3k and built alot stronger than the standard auto.

Obviously if he needs a cooler he wouldnt be making the 310rwkw.....cause as his going down the strip...the inlet temps are very high so the computers pulling timing out....that's where he got 112 mph....not enough for a 11 sec et. Im suprised that it was tuned to 310rwkw with a stock cooler then.
  16. Yeah 112 mph sounds off from 310rwkw unless you were off the throttle before the finish line or the dyno was a little happy happy joy joy.
  17. lol you got no problems with that in a ute. :-) The convertor actually hides the real power ....its about 25 kw more than 310
  18. yeh probably a good idea......unless you got 3k to throw at it. Your 2.26 60ft isnt very good should be about 1.9 to 2.0 and youll drop your time down to about 12.2 12.3, and some better rubber will help a bit more 2. Just go see Danny tell him to bump it a bit harder to crack the 11.
