  1. Thanx for the vid mate nice job....Next yr il be putting on full slicks...like danny said the track is slipperier than my x's thrashed box The swearing at the end of the run was due to spinning sh*tloads at the startline would of been better not to stall it to 3k to begin with...lol
  2. Anyone in NZ wanna buy a ute :-)
  3. Ute or sedan as theres a big difference...
  4. If you want guys on here to help you out your gonna have to give a bit more info than that...such as is this car standard, if not what are all the modifications etc......
  5. Heathcote isnt sold....its just a rumour.....and going by the rumours I think Heathcotes been sold 5 times and counting.
  6. yeah its a great buy if it comes with a $2750 dollar cashback bonus.
  7. I think your right there d rangd, some people buy high performance cars who have never owned one and dont give it the respect that it needs, so some are lucky to come out of it with a lesson learned, and some just dont learn at all, then you have the ones who didnt get the second chance, and leave there loved ones behind. Glad you came out safely, that's the main thing.
  8. What was that John....Next time u come to Melbourne Crown Casino you can run that by me again..LOL
  9. Definately a low 11 maybe a ten with a good 60ft, with the convertor setup your running..
  10. The dyno sheet doesnt really look all out of wack....it doesnt come on massively hard....and they richened it up coming up to the end of the run. What boost was this at.....21psi?
  11. Guys take a look at this vid....very lucky indeed and if I was the driver id be changing my pants right about now...
  12. Theyre 850cc...thanx google....now wheres my 10 points...
  13. The vehicle is totally stock therefore if it is overboosting to 18psi, then it most prob could be the actuator, which opens up to allow excess boost out , whereas as in your situation your flapper is staying shut therefore building up huge boost and going into limp mode...also be careful that its not pinging, and it would also be running very lean at those boost levels...so bad that you could be in for a bang....stay off slamming the throttle and take it to a worshop to suss out the actuator...this isnt the first time ive heard of this happening.
  14. that's what I did....I would never of had time to enjoy a toy car, cause I was always working so I got the ute and tried to have the best of both worlds. Dont regret it one bit.
  15. It all depends on how your tune is set up on whether to leave it in performance mode or not.....My 11.3 was done by shifting 1st and 2nd manually at 5000rpm each gear, then allowing 3rd to rev till crossing the line at 5800. The only reason why I did this is because all my peak power and torque was at 5000rpm and below. But most often if you leave it in performance mode you will show more mph but your time will be slower, whereas if you find the right shift points then your e.t time will alot better with slightly less mph. Theres no reason why you couldnt run a ten in that setup it all comes down to the driver and how hard your tunes comes on. My 11.38 showed a power level of 310 and was backed up very closely on another dyno.
  16. If that's the black vy ss ute your talken about, that's Tim.....great bloke he is... his gone through HPF to run that time.
  17. If your getting a convertor put in, make sure that you will be running a good trans cooler, because a convertor makes more heat and heat is the main contributer to failed autos... Also if you are not drag racing at a track its pretty much useless to run a convertor, you cant use it on the street to its full ability...if your using it on the street go for a 2500 stall speed, if your racing it, 2800 is plenty..that's what im running. As for your question, there is no guarantee even on a built 4 speed that it will last....... with or without a convertor.
  18. WTF he just stood still..didnt try and get out of the way.....id be kissing the ground after that.

    368.7 Rwk

If it is true its gotta hurt...ouch....knock on wood mine stays together for a little longer...
  20. Best you wait then.....theyre be dropping in price as time goes by, and youd prob save on a rebuilt 4 speed as theyre kms are getting up there. So youll be saving in the long run.
  21. Mines still goin...its been more like 2000 times ive used it....
  22. Im running a 4 speed and if you were after 300+rwkw, you would eventually have to get the 4 speed rebuilt...in saying that ive put a 2800 convertor behind mine and between city and freeway driving I get around 500 - 550 to the tank. The 4 speed to get rebuilt would be around the $2800 mark, so if you went for a 6 speed I guess you can say you will save some $$ there...but eventually the 6 speed will need rebuilding, they will last a hell of alot longer than what the 4 speed will. Performance wise for drag racing id probably stick to the 4 speed, convertor set up, the 6 speeds are known to snap tailshafts on bringing boost up off the line.....not something id like to be in when it happens, and can cause alot damage under the car. that's just my personal preference to give you some idea.
