  2. OK Guys, been out all day and about to go out again...... Here comes some pics:
  3. Hey Vik, Absolotely. I think the reaction from mates is almost as good as driving it - it sure is a head turner. Im sitting here in the dining room looking out the window and all I can see is this beautifull blueprint baby (next to the filthy AU Fairmont) hehe.....I have this stupid grin on my face. About to go out driving for the day and show off to family. Will take pics and post later sometime.... Can anyone tell me how I post a pic so the image comes up in my post without having to click on a link? Cheers, Michael (out cruising.....)

    Ford XR Jackets

Just keep searching for "Ford Jackets" on ebay - theres a heap on there now. Cheers, Michael..
  5. Hey all, Well it's a few minutes past midnight and only just got home, very busy day sorting out the last bits and pieces. To say doing the deal was painful would be an understatement - without me pushing people 10 times a day to get things done, it would be another month before I got in it. Drove out of the dealership at 6pm. Did a bit of driving, not much - had to do some work tonight, just got home. Sofar - very very very happy and lots of impressed friends.....! Batteries in the digi camera were flat, will take pics and post tomorrow OK....... Cheers, Michael.
  6. Hey all, Well the time has come to start counting down the hours. The demo I picked out a couple of weeks ago is all prepared and providing the last little finance bits are sorted, I'll be driving her tomorrow afternoon! Expecting a lot of km's to be put on over the weekend, will endeavour to take some pics and post them in between drives.... Cheers, Michael..
  7. G'day Modi, I have ordered the ford mudspats to go on my T, as I live on a dirt road - cannot be without them. Agree the T looks better without them, but for me there is really no option. They dont look that bad. Cheers, Michael..
  8. Does anyone know what colour the fairmont window switches light up? If I went the expensive option and bought the fairmont switches, would these light up green or white instead of blue and look strange in the XR interior at night considering everything else is blue? Thanks, Michael..
  9. LOL OK delete the Great Ocean Road idea, I havent been down there for about 10 years so have no idea whats its like - just thought it would be scenic........
  10. Hi all, Some great ideas so far. Looking forwad to my first cruise - hopefully this time next week I will have the new T. The thing is sitting there waiting to go, just sorting out lease contracts between here and sydney........frustrating. But can't complain too much, only been waiting a couple of weeks so far. Some food for thought: - Great Ocean Road? - Anywhere down around the Morninton Peninsula - Lake Eildon - some amazing roads to squirt along - Ballarat (OK just kidding on that one..) Just my .02 Cheers, Michael
  11. Oh yeah, and when I was ordering the accessories last night, I asked for the Foglampcovers from the Territory - "But sir they are off the Territory and wont fit" - thanks to this forum, I offered to email her a pic of them fitted, and gave them the part number that they couldnt find...... Same with the GHIA bootlid carpet - "but sir that is not listed as an accessory" reply - "I know, it's a spare part for the GHIA - here's the part number for the carpet and the 14 clips I need" (they couldnt find the part numbers for them either) Anyway, thanks to the forum, I was a very well educated buyer last night........
  12. Thanks for the comments guys, I have updated my signature to show what I'm about to get... They gave me the car for a day while they shopped around for the best deal on my trade in. So I got to drive it to the city for work, the wife had a drive out the back of Yarra Glen, also drove it at night to take it back - great test drive. No brake shudder, no driveline shunt. All feels good. The owner of the dealership was driving it to and from work. The word is it was not broken in shyly at all, hence it goes pretty hard now.... Average lt per 100 was 13 for the day! I'm not going to say I cant wait a week to get it. I feel sorry for you guys having to wait months for yours! Cheers, Michael...
  13. I've got a Magellan Meridian Colour GPS which has background mapping. Nice little unit. Pretty messy to setup on the dash in the holder with the power cable though. The dedicated SatNav units have the added trip program ability with turn by turn directions etc. In the USA my Magellan has software availabe to do this, but not here in OZ yet. IMO the screen is a bit small to show all that info. Actually I have the US CD here as I brought the unit in from there. Personally - I like the idea of the mapping detail come up on the ICC. Cheers, Michael...
  14. Hi guys, WELL......I wanted an XR6T with Prem sound, leather, possibly that new luxury pack etc etc......but wasnt too happy having to wait up to 12 weeks for it. SOOO.......I settled for a demo with 7000km on the clock with prem sound and side airbags. Could have got custom leather for $2500 but decided I quite like the Plexis Blue interior to match the Blueprint - looks great and the wife loves it. Best bit - $40k on road and I should be in it next week. Bugger waiting 12 weeks and paying another $10k. Down the track - planning on Blau DVD & SatNav, Sunroof. If the fabric wears out I'll look at leather then... Accessories - Towpack, Momo SSS Shifter (Blue), XR Mats, Scuff Plate Inserts, Slimline Weathershields, Mudspats, Foglight Covers (Territory), Fairmont GHIA Bootlid Carpet, Pollen Filter and I think that was it.... Looking forward to being a fellow Turbo owner shortly and getting out on the road, bring on the next cruise! Cheers, Michael...
  15. hmm thanks again....
  16. Thanks Chris. Can you run both SatNav and a Hands Free kit together into that same input? I did actually just call Blau and they said that the unit wont mute the radio but play over the top of it. Were they talking about it running via a seperate speaker do you think - or is there another input in the multimedia interface that will allow it to play over the radio? Michael...
  17. Guys, The factory SatNav allows the radio to still be played, and the music mutes when the SatNav chick needs to give you directions. If you hook up a Blau unit via the Blau Interface, will this function work, or if you want to use SatNav you have to put up with no music????? Cheers, Michael...
  18. I'm about to buy an XR6T Demo with prem sound, I really really wanted leather - so they are going to re-trim all the seats in the same leather as factory, but with colour stitching to match the blueprint and also colour XR embroidery not only on the front seats but back as well. Costs a bit more than the factory option but will be that little bit different and they *apparently* do a better job than the factory (although that could be salesman convincing talk...) Also good opportunity to have colour screens added to the headrests for the future Blau DVD system..... But yes at the end of the day it's the disposable $ that counts. I dont think the fairmont leather seats are as contoured / sporty as the XR ones. Cheers, Michael.
  19. Vik, Dunno what it stands for but here is their webite: http://www.ebcbrakes.com.au/ Cheers, Michael.
  20. Hi guys, I have been running the EBC Kevlar pads & Slotted & Dimpled Disks on my Land Rover for a while now and they are great. It's no XR6T, but over 2ton of 4WD driven by a V8, needs to be able to stop pretty good. Main reason for going EBC was less brake dust as factory stuff was terribly soft and dust was a joke, if you left it on the wheels it actually ate away the paint. EBC do alot of race stuff, cant be too bad... Doesnt squeak, doesnt dust (much) - im pretty happy with them. They do different levels of pads from street use kevlar up to full race ceramic...... Anyway just my .02 worth... Cheers, Michael.
  21. Hey Dutchie, How long before you get yours? I'm looking at doing a deal on a demo and should find out this week if it will all work. Hoping it will and can make the next trip too! Cheers, Michael.
  22. How do you connect to the IR Eye in the ICC?? Is this part of the Blau Interface or is it a seperate thing altogether? I'm looking at running the Blau Interface & DVD, then adding a VDO SatNav as I think the mapping is far superior to the Blau, just cant work out how you connect the multiple IR's up to the eye in the ICC. Thanks in advance, Michael...
  23. Hi KrasH, How does the system hook up to the infra red eye above the ICC Screen? Is that a part of the Blau Interface? Went and looked at the Blau SatNav vs. the VDO SatNav and I have to say the mapping on the VDO seems far superior. My plan is to have the Blau Interface & DVD installed with a couple of headrest mounted screens. Then, add a VDO SatNav system which I understand should just plug straight into one of the inputs on the interface. Do you see any issues with this? Only other concern is how to hook the VDO SatNav up to the remote eye, if I wanted the unit in the boot - that's the only part I dont get. Hope you or anyone can help! Thanks, Michael.
  24. LMAO @ WhiteTee, good one....and very true. Michael....
  25. Hi guys, Sounds like a great drive, I did that exact route a couple months ago in the Land Rover. I'd love to tag along but the Discovery would look a tad out of place, havent quite traded it on an XR6T yet! Have a great day and hope someone takes heaps of pics to post! Cheers, Michael.
