  2. I'm selling a lightning strike BFMKII june 2007 model. Never modded other than a generic flash tune I sometimes ran. Need to sell due to change at work travelling 1000km a week. Had to downgrade to a focus :( Immaculate condition and loved more than my Mrs. Only thing is it has 135,000 country km's on the clock and is 6 speed manual so not exactly what you're looking for unfortunately. I advertised it for 20k but would happily sell for 18k.

  4. Mine started doing he same thing a few months ago just randomly. Eventually it got worse so everytime I accelerate and the boost begins to rise it shudders and loses power. I took it to fraud and they changed the fuel filter and checked some other things, not sure what but they haven't fixed the problem.
  5. If my generic tune has been fine for a few months can it just crap its pants out of nowhere like this? I guess I'll just have to get onto one of the tuners on this site and get them to look at it and get a custom tune?? Hopefully that fixes it.
  6. Na ive already had the stability control issue its definitely not that hahaha. Yeah I know the generic tune is bloody ordinary. Ive been running the 10psi for a while now but its only just started doing this. Up until 5psi its fine. When it hits around 6-10 it just shudders under the bonnet it seems. Shouldn't be getting valve float in a BF MK II should I????
  7. When I'm driving my BF MKII with its generic flash tune and the boost starts getting up over 5psi it splutters and loses power until I take the foot off the pedal. It only really does it in 3rd,4th,5th, and 6th gears. When I flash it back to stock its fine just the higher boost is causing issues. The boost stays stable while its shuddering it doesnt spike or anything it seems to hold boost. Fraud checked it out but I flashed it back to stock so they couldn't really tell. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  8. I was just wondering how other Turbo drivers are going regarding traction. I have a June build 2007 BF Turbo which is pretty much stock. The only thing I have done at them moment is that im running the 10psi generic tune. When its dry and I take of with some gusto to get away from pesky Holdens I struggle for traction in first and second. Its really annoying as I feel like I lose a lot of acceleration at this time. Now I know most of you guys on here are running much more power than I am with my 10psi generic tune so traction should be more of an issue for you guys especially. My tyres are stock from when I bought the car. Are they just not good enough? Any help would be appreciated. P.S In the wet its unbelievably dangerous as you can imagine!!!
  9. Upgraded from a Peugeot 206 Awesome little car. Did 180,000km in 4 years and never broke a thing!!! 70 bucks and 800km off a tank. Now I get 520km out of 100 bucks of juice. Great financial sense hey I would never get rid of my turbo though.
  10. Well on the thursday before good friday I recieved my CAPA flash tuner with the generic tunes. Went outside, plugged her in, went for a spin. F*&^ ME!!!! What a difference 10psi makes!!!! I was then off to the Grampians camping for 4 days so got to give it some stick up the steep winding hills. I knew the turbos were a good car but now I really appreciate her. She handles so smoothly around the tight corners and by crikey she pulls up a steep a hill like its a flat track!!! And I had 4 people in the car. The turbo sound now is like a jet engine winding up on the runway. It scared the hell out of everyone. All I have is the K&N airfilter and the generic tune and im more than impressed. I can only imagine the feeling some of you guys are getting from your supremely powered turbos. Now my warranty is effectively gone should anything go wrong but its worth it atm (till something breaks :() Just took mates 6 month old XR8 with $5000 Herrod dual pipes and its a sluggish wombat in comparison. $600 later and he can't touch me. I really don't want to go back to the factory tune at any stage that's for sure!!! One question, my boost gauge says around 0.9 Bar when I put the loud pedal down. I checked it out and that equates to about 13psi not 10psi. Is this normal?

  12. Hi Guy's, I have a June 2007 XR6T (strong motor obviously) and I am considering getting the flash tune done and clearly voiding my warranty. I was just wondering if I could get some feedback from some of you guys who know your stuff whether you think its the right choice.
  13. Won't that just completely void my warranty though
  14. Cool. Good to know. Thanks guys. Guess I'll have to purchase my own then. It's a new BF so I'm a bit concerned about ford knowing about it even if I flash it back before servicing. Will they know?
  15. As the description says, my mate has a BA turbo ute and has a CAPA flash tuner. Can I use it on my BF turbo??? Am I an idiot for asking this question???
  16. Ive had my 2007 BFII Turbo, 6 speed manual for just over 2 months from brand spanking and mine has done since I picked it up. Not sure what it is. It only does it from intial start up and when I turn for the first time. I'm guessing it's somethig to do with the steering. It doesn't do it again for the rest of the trip though
  17. Yeah its the same price. Bastard should have told me what was going to happen he would have known for sure. Maybe if I try to give the dealership a bad name they might try and keep me happy?
  18. I purchased my new T about a month ago and now the premium sound is standard. If I kick up enough of a stink what do people think my chances of getting it installed for free are?
  19. How much strain will an edit put on the motor in terms of its lifespan? Am I looking at more problems than its worth?
  20. I recently bought a silver sedan and was deceived by the website on its colour depiction. I wanted the lightest silver and on the website silk looks lighter than lightning strike but on purchasing the car and actually looking at them at the dealership lightning strike is actually the lighter one. Makesure you check it in person to be sure. The fact I am waiting on it to be built I'm glad I didn't make my decision based on the web. I would have been mighty annoyed.
  21. I'm a newby on here and know a minimum about cars. I bought a Lightning Strike BF XR6 Turbo a couple of weeks ago and don't receive it until 28th June as its being built (The wait is killing me ). I got leather as an extra. I was wondering what sort of things I could do to the car for a little more power without blowing my budget and won't void the warranty. Any help would be appreciated. Im already in love with the car and I haven't even got it yet. Can't wait to watch all the Holdens in my rear vision mirror.
