  1. If anyone is having trouble like I was finding someone who can cut these, I thought I'd let you know that I just got two of these cut at Bells Locksmith on William Street near City Ford in Sydney for $18 each. After ringing around several locksmiths who "didn't have the right machine", it was good to find someone who sounded like they knew what they were doing.
  2. Checked it. Unfortunately it's not the problem in my case. Damn good idea though. It actually sounds like it's in that exact area - just a bit deeper in the dash.
  3. Does it make a fairly sharp sound, or is it muffled? Any idea exactly what they are replacing?
  4. It was new about 20 service visits ago. Now looks older than my AU did after 6 years.
  5. Hi. Did you ever get anywhere with this? I've got a very similar rattle in a BFII - dash has been out a few times but they just can't find the problem. Sometimes it sounds like a relay clicking on each bump - other times more like a creaking door opening. Sounds like it's exactly where you describe it. It's driving me nuts.
  6. I've got one installed too. No crashes in the last year I've had it. I love it. It's accurate, quick and scrolls much more smoothly than units not connected to the speedo. Software updates are easy. Quality system. On the downside, I wish it used the ICC controls rather than having a separate remote, and sometimes (1/100 times) when warm starting at night with the headlights on it gets confused about whether to display day or night screen colours and gets it 50%/50% which usually means the text is white on white. Turning lights off then on fixes it. No biggie.
  7. I had the same problem on my BF - turned out to be the blue plastic cap on the back of the sensor would half-pop off all by itself. Had me guessing though. No warnings or anything - just no cruise.
