As good a guide that you can get. The step from Phoon BAII to BF with the ZF was big, especially when you look at the performance numbers magazines have done not to mention the styling
I'd imagine it would be like the step from BAII Phoon to BF. Command a $5k premium? Also with comparing Phoon to T the Phoon will hold a better percentage of it's value but that will be about the same $$ as the T depreciates anyway. I wouldn't buy new now
For mine I'd want some options such as premium sound or 18 inch rims for that price. I've only seen a couple under $29k and seem to have no options but between 50k and 75k kms. Think of the resale - look at what BA T's with over 100k kms on them are selling for - about $20k
Didn't think it was worth a new thread... I'm currently looking at a 2005 BF1 XR6T ute, ZF, black, 18's and hardlid, in mint condition with 25,000kms and the dealer says his best price is $33,500. Sound ok or should I walk away?
A follow on question - why don't Ford fit better/stiffer valve springs in the first place? Why then put them in the 'Phoon only? Do they place extra pressure on the camshaft and cause it to wear out sooner or are they cheaper to make and fit?
When they say it has the same "hardpoints" as the BF "so don't expect big changes" doesn't that mean the suspension mounting points? I thought they were going to change the front suspension to have the Terry's virtual pivot point. Also if the suspension stays the same surely they can change the body enough so it doesn't have the long overhangs? The VE has looks great with the short overhangs and I'm sure its better for clearance angles too
