yeah possibly it was just about sunday morning here too.... but I think one 4 inch pipe would flow better than a 3 and a 1 but then you take into account scavenging effect and back pressure, separation and all those other things like thermal dynamics bla bla (I almost sound like I know what I,m talking about... wrong....) and the 3 and 1 may work better then the 4.... in all but the biggest horsepower applications...
-
Hmmm lets see I don't think it is quite that straight forward.... Area of a circle = pi * radius2 (dump pipe) in this case 3" and a 1' equal (in metric to stop confusion about multiplying halves etc ) 38mm = 1.5' = radius of main pipe and 12.5 = 0.5 radius of wastegate pipe. so 3.1428 x 38 x38 = 4536 cm squared + 3.1428 x 12.5 x 12.5 = 491 cm squared Totals = 5027 cm squared BUT 1 x 4" pipe = 3.1428 x 50.8 x 50.8 = 8106 cm squared so by rights the 4" should flow about 60% better.... Then I could be wrong too.....apart from a bit of rounding, I think I was once or twice in the past.

Could this be retrofitted to BF f6's, I can't launch to save myself....

So will standard 17's it the back of a R spec typhoon, with the red calipers and big disks?.... It's rubber inhaling time....

Manual Short Throw Shifter - Herrod Vs Mal Wood
bigmat replied to Venom XR Turbo's topic in Driveline Workshop
Has anyone tried one of these on their Tremec manuals ?, big $ but hey.... Bump Shifter half way down the page Either the wheel mounted paddle stuff, or the bump stick (which I would prefer), get the best of both worlds a manual that you can truly control quickly and maybe even shift faster...with the clutchless mod to the ecu...hmmm -
The only Option left would be to Buy the F6 off FPV, I understand they are going to be still available in Manual. Now if I can only stretch the mortgage to cover a second one....
-
What do you mean by the headlight not lining up, my driver side headlight squeaks when I wash the car, is this the same thing.... mine being 141 the builder may have been on holiday for a few weeks between them....

I'm with you ZAP_F6 on that sentiment. it's almost sacrilege to bastardise the rear bar, how about buying a rear bar off a XT and shoving the shin catcher through that if you have to. That way people like myself wouldn't be concerned and get in your face about it,....... isn't this a performance car not a $500 tow car, if you want to do that why didn't you buy a HSV they do that sort of thing all the time.... but hey they are w a n k e r s... Me thinks I have said enough...

Go for The F6 typhoon, get the R Spec, FPV spent a lot of time on the dampening / valving etc to get these to handle well, and they sure do. try that in a F6X, bus with 270 kw is still a bus. Although I know if they made a Typhoon in 4WD , as in sedan or lower ride height with active yaw control and torque control on each wheel I'd sell all my cars and maybe my house and wife to get one... While you are there just add 400 At Wheel KW & 600 NM torque...and I'm there.... Oh hell make it a two door and call it a Messerschmitt or Hurricane or the Ultimate Oz supercar...

How many in Conquer are there?, I wouldve chosen Bionic if it had metal flake through it....But hey I love this colour too...if I had the money I would have one in every colour for each day of the week.... Lightening strike is a beaut colour too, tough decisions....

I like the body colour coded eyes, almost looks european... I reckon if you had a standard F6 in Yellow people will paint some black eyes on it and you'll have a huge smiley.....or a pretty quick happy taxi Mellow Yellow excuse my pisspoor photoshop skills but you get the picture

Oh well there goes that theory... I understand they wish to protect their investment but the end of the day, manufacturers have to move with the times or become extinct....Guaranteeing your income to penalise the purchaser just seems wrong... where is the good will in that. Maybe a custom Motec or something and start from scratch... Is there any real options other than SCT stuff? Moates.net and do it yourself maybe????

Well it is high time Capa and who ever else is controlling this stopped dictating their terms onto you & I the customer. It just smacks of bully tactics....If it is a commercial thing then how about, doing this for free? and or providing another ROM slot to store the new base tune update to... Makes me want to stay away from the Capa stuff...Dream Science is starting to look good....

My F6 did the same thing Accelerator Jammed passing a car up a passing lane, jammed under the floor mat. Third gear rev limited, (so changed to fourth---- rev limited-- again, I couldn't work out what was going on, too busy keeping on the black stuff to look at the mat. (any guess as to what speed I was doing at that stage) worst part was the big corner at the top of the passing lane, I'm just glad it is an R Spec because it was at the limit of it's cornering ability.... gave me a lot of confidence as to how far I could push it though.... What a way to find out. Still it is a design flaw on Ford/FPV's part, all they need to do is cut that part of the mat back a bit more or put some decent clips to hold it in place... Dealer said hard luck, your problem...wait until someone files a law suit against Ford and we will see whos problem it is then....

Thanks, Scribr, whats you next purchase.... Hanging out for the FG series are you...

The standard amp is in the boot, on the left hand side under the boot lining panel , look for the big lump... it's a sanyo I think from memory (I looked a couple of weeks ago) I have an Ipod Classic plugged into my ICC it goes via a charger adaptor thing that plugs into the ciggy lighter socket, only thing is the volume is only controllable via the ICC and steering wheel of course.....

I have my Manual F6 Rspec Typhoon, I know it was the only manual imported to NZ and there was only 10 FrR Spec Typhoon in total imported to NZ. It is also in Conquer so wasn't supposed to be on the original colour list of options. But what I would like to know as to how many Auto's how many Manuals and what colours, other options where produced in the limited run of 300 R Secc's. Someone must know???

Still waiting for mine too (it's been 2 months) I have been told FPV are going to be sending these out in January... (now) Mind you the local dealer did give me a bunch of extras, and a full tank of Gas. and a Jacket plus 4 caps for the family.

The traction control just needs to be depressed for a second or two to deactivate it, (it's like a "Are you sure you wanna do that" button) I had a couple of "Truck Transporter " marks on the underside of the front of mine when delivered too, I was thankful I had a great dealer here in Gisborne they resprayed the whole valence panel , and then applied the 3M stonegaurd too. you couldn't tell it's been done....

I wander if we can source these new air intakes for our BA-BF's Also did George W Bush pass some law effectively cancelling all future V8 production in the US????
-
Please let us know how you get on, what the car ends up handling like. Will the 18's fit over the front brakes okay?
-
Thanks, I had a list of about 100 different plates to choose from while I was waiting for delivery of the car but that one was just right. I was surprised when it hadn't been snaffled up already.... The earth quake, well I have never been in anything scarier, it is not a nice feeling watching the hallway in your house move up down and sideways about 3 feet (while you are standing in it) I have a video Taken at my wifes work, (a liquor store), it's of the first 5 seconds but with about 5 different camera angles before power went off I might have to youtube it if she gives me the green light... Mind you if I don't tell her... nah can't do that.... She won't buy me any more go fast bit's for the F6.... I actually checked the car before I checked with my wife ( don't tell her aye.....). to find out how she was, as she was still at work. A big 7 foot high freestanding cupboard walked itself across the floor and was leaning on the car, but luckily no damage.. Built Ford tough.... Then drove to pick my wife up and headed to high ground waiting for the Tsunami that never came. Couldn't have been in a faster getaway car...... I would like to but, I enjoy driving it too much....You haven't got a spare $68K NZD for another one to put into storage for me to have do you.???.. Wheres that lotto ticket...

What , are you still waiting delivery... ??? Actually I put the order in on mine the first day they publicly announced they were importing them to NZ, back in August, car arrived late November.... Well worth the wait....
