Dad's company thought they'd do the right thing, and try out this Carbon Credits stuff... Organised this company to come out and look at their factories and their construction areas... then while they were working out a quote, my dad asked who the money was paid to and who undertakes the "tree planting" turns out the companies that go around doing carbon neutral assessments, are actually the company that the money gets paid to, and who apparently plants millions of trees... So they pretty much, quote you what ever the hell thy want, and make you feel guilty about ruining the planet... but then the huge amount they've quoted you goes to them... and you get no proof that the trees have been planted... like they won't tell you where they plant all these trees, so you can't look at a huge plantation and say, that is where my money went, and I am making a difference. I have never believed all this crap anyway, and this just compounds my views. Get a glass of water, put some ice in it. Mark where the water line is, then wait for the ice to melt... According to these "scientists" the planet will flood if all the ice melts. Ice displaces the same volume if not more, than the water that creates it. So, for a while the water level of the earth will rise slightly, only to fall again once the ice has melted. Assuming that it is actually melting, and that it all will melt. Also, this theory doesn't allow for the evaporation of water too... which if this global warming is right, a lot of water will evaporate due to the increased power of the sun. just my 2c
