Sounds like yours is aftermarket and not Ford underwritten, especially with the servcing conditions?

Not as bad as the HSV dealers are doing to move VZ HSV's... At least they have a reason, if you can believe what you read then they are slooow to sell. And if you look at HSV resale the effects of discounting show.

Some may take up such an offer Rohan but if l owned an M5 l wouldnt bother as l would have nothing to prove. l would still own a vastly superior car even if some aftermarket mods to the Falcon gave it the edge in one particular area. If so why would l care?

Looks like Ford continues to undermine its resale and customer loyalty. Why the *beep* would a dealer need to sell a BA F6 for $47k or discount the new BF model by $9k? Good for you Adrian but it all seems so small minded and short sighted to me.

l was big into oilers but sold out a few months back. If l had a $100k ready to go l would be ploughing most of it into Anzon (AZA) and smaller plays into BPT, AED and COE.

Good option l reckon, see this post for more info and pics etc from my test drive. The difference in performance between the MPS and XR6T is bugger all, maybe 0.3 over the 1/4 mile. Of course the T has much better after market potential, it all depends on your priorities.

Sure will be Zap, the F6 has lower ride height and a deeper spoiler.

Mondie, I drove the 06 STi and was very happy with it, when it came to performance. I had a look at the EVO IX also, but did not test drive it. The interior immediately didnt appeal to me and I was aware that the ride quality was even harder than the STIs, so I didnt bother wasting the salesmans time. Any reason why you ditched the xr6t and the FPV Gt for the 03 STi? Have you driven the F6 and if you have how did it compare to the other cars on your list. **** Im definetley not in the market for an M5. Looking at comparisons between cars around the same price tag as the f6. Hope your all having a relaxing break. Rohan, l have not driven an F6 but will before buying. l ditched the XR6T for the GT because l had to have one but overall was disappointed with both cars. Driveline shunt, poor warranty service and gearbox rattles detracted from the fun of ownership. l sold the GT because we went to a 2 car family hence l didnt need a large car. The Sti fitted my needs perfectly. For some the F6 is the best choice simply because they need the large car, fortunatley l dont so l can compare the cars on a more even level. l would break the cars l suggested into 3 categories; Hardcore; Evo 9 Compromise between hardcore & cruiser; F6 and Sti Cruiser; GT-P, Mazda MPS6 or Sti tuned Liberty l agree the interior in the Evo is not up to the standard of any of the other cars with the exception of the Sti which l think its comparable to. They each have their good and bad points. The 06 Sti is off the list though as l dont like the new look. The Evo is a slightly larger car and l HATE the keypad in the Sti. Ultimately its what you want in a car?

l tend to agree with everything Dallas has said. Comparing an F6 with an M5 So what if its faster in a straight line, seems to be increasingly the reason given around here for buying a particular car and asserting its superiority. l would like some quality with mine please. If Ford/FPV can get that right then l am back in, until then l will look elsewhere. l would love to buy Aussie made cars but will not if it means second class quality and service.

Rohan, l am a self confessed car nut and have been giving this question a lot of thought over the past few months as l will be updating come March. My last 3 cars have been a BA XR6T, FPV Gt and currently an MY03 Sti. The field for me as it stands is a BF F6 or GT-P, MY06 Sti, Liberty GT "tuned by Sti", Mazda MPS or Evo 9. For various reasons the Evo 9 is the front runner. For me its the best looking of the lot, has excellent quality, is a little bigger than the Sti, easily the fastest of the group, has a 5 yr warranty and a great security system. IMO its the best blend of quality, performance and size of the group. Probably what l will buy come March Cheers

Against the better advice on this forum l bought a Dlink modem and router. They are absolutely crap products, need a reboot nearly every single day. Good luck iwht your, maybe l just got a bad model. Either way they are on limited time, l would never but another of their products.

The key is in the custom tune. The variance engine to engine from Ford is ridiculous IMO so the success of the generic tunes is random at best.

l think he is probably quoting NZ$ prices so its about lineball. l agree with Zap, reducing the options down is a smart move on an imported car. All the Aussie importers of Japanese cars do it, putting options together in packages to reduce variations. Side airbags should be standard, l have driven in NZ many times and you Kiwis need all the protection you can get

Just a bloody amazing feat of engineering, blows away the up until now fastest ever production car the Mclaren F1 by a huge margin. Makes you wonder what cars our kids will be driving in 20 years that's for sure.

This interests me too, if l was to buy a Typhoon l would definitley keep it stock looking and only go for an edit. 260rwkw is awesome, that's gotta be about 320kw at the fly not to mention the likely better fuel economy and smoother response. Where would you take your car in Melbourne Dags?
