Why are these things so hard to sell
-
Dont know much but like you do want to buy one soon. Two essential features for me are a HDMI connection so l can replay digital direct into my Plasma and the other is the ability to name a recording before its made. If you have got 80gb worth of stuff and forget to name the recordings after, which is the only way a lot of these players let you do it, you will soon be lost looking for that episode of Double Fist Now over to the experts............

l could be wrong but that Autotech beast looks like Mandarin to me, a poor replacement for BO the best BA colour
-
Me too, love those 19's and you can avoid the wait.

Is there really that many bored people around with $10 to spare

"the great Ken", eh? ... "The GREAT Ken" ... I like the sound of that. ... anyways, what gives here? It's just occured to me that there are 2 un-disputable facts at hand: 1. Shazza is a mod. 2. Shazza is a post wh0re. Surely that's a "conflict of interests" and why have my (multiple) applications for a moderator job been turned down, neigh, scoffed at, because I (supposedly) am a post wh0re ... *cough* as if! *cough* ??? ... think I'll write me a letter ... Dont get too excited big boy, Britian has the word Great in its title and its anything but

l guess it requires a re-education of emergency services workers, good to see Toyota are being pro-active in that regard. Still got to be 100 times safer than getting called to a serious accident involving a car on LPG l reckon.
-
While l dont think your question is stupid why would be comparing 2 cars, one worth over double the other? Even if the XR6 was quicker, would that influence your decision on whether to spend $35k or $75k?
-
Its called the law of diminishing returns and applies to just about anything you can think of. 400 cars with less than 5000 miles? That must be murdering resale but l dont see any reason why the M5 would be any better in this regard, it appeals to a tiny and exclusive market.
-
Sad but true l cannot hand over $60k for a NEW car and then pay out of my own pocket to fix it. The so called value for money equation goes straight out the window for me. l would prefer to look elsewhere in the hope that one day they get the message and l can bbuy another performance Falcon. If the shift to medium sized cars continues they better get it quickly otherwise the crap service that Ford are known for will be another nail in the Falcons coffin.

l thought that Vid on Top Gear was great. For the first half he whinged about the technology in the car and for the second half he was completely blown away by it. Gotta love the "M" button That video just makes me want one more. What do you expect Dallas to say?
-
Vik, Why would he bother responding to some of the dribble in this thread? If you have the money and inclination then buy an M5, l know l would. If you cant or wont, stop trying to convince yourselves the T is as good. There is a thread on the WRX forums where they are comparing the WRX to a Ferrari FFS, a WRX is better apparently because some loser dragged one off at the lights. We can all dream Unfortunatley this site is turing into a site focussed on racing and quarter mile times, l am suprised at some of the vids of guys dragging on the streets that have been posted recently. Its no wonder a thread such as this exists.

Horses for courses l guess Brian. The GT has much more down low than any Sti prior to the MY06. l considered an 06 Sti but hated the new look, sure they go well although the times the mags get out of them FWIW are not that much different to the earlier models. Just a more linear delivery. l was close to buying an Evo 9 over the Sti but this Liberty Sti was the right car at the right time. l wanted something more than a stock Liberty GT which is too soft but also a nicer interior and a slightly larger car for the kids (which the Evo is over a Sti) and viola, the Liberty GT Sti was born just at the right time If l wanted all out grunt and handling (and remember l am not a mod head such as yourself) l would have gone Evo 9, but for want of a little more size and luxury this was hard to beat. Cheers

What do you mean Brian. The Liberty Sti weighs 1435kg, near identical to an Sti as far as l know?
-
That is awesome, l love that show as only a new viewer having only seen a few episodes. On Monday night they did some runs around Nurburg (sp?) Ring, great stuff
-
Not bad times but nothing like the figures l read about on the forums. Why is that, l dont get it. Surely a jurno who doesnt own the car and so has little regard for mechanical sympathy should be able to get the best time the car is capable of? l ask before evryone starts saying the F6 should have pulled a 13.2

Hey Dags, The cars alledegdly went down the Sti line at Subaru in Japan to get some of the bits fitted and as a result they received tinted rear and back windows, just not the front. Apparently this is common with some of the Euros too. PITA = pain in the arse which is what it will be to match the front windows to the rest Got it for $63.k driveaway with a few little extras which is around 2500 under what l was quoted from the few other dealers that had a car available. l believe all manual sedans are now sold and there is only around 6 autos remaining too. Not a very strong negotiating position so to have saved a couple of gorillas is a bonus because if l had to pay full retail l would have My local dealer was only able to get this 1 car which he ordered a while ago to my spec in case l wanted it. Cheers Simon

Bought one of these today, it was love at first sight Words really do not do these cars justice, they are one of the nicest cars l have ever layed eyes on and look very BMW M-esque. l was suprised how low the car sits, this combined with the Sti alloys, subtle wing lip and quad pipes had my tongue on the showroom floor! The test drive was impressive, you could really feel the pull down low although with only 26kms on the clock l was taking it pretty easy. The suspension feels taut without being harsh although l certainly did not get a chance to test its handling at all. The interior changes are subtle but worthwhile, especially liked the Sti cluster. Car is an Urban Grey manual and sometime next week will be in my driveway. Will post up some pics for those interested. Cheers Simon

Try silastic, sticks very well to glass and easy to remove when your done.
-
l am a slow learner, just not that slow!
-
For some odd reason the back and side rear windows come tinted, you then have to get the fronts matched which is probably a PITA. So your not a fan of it then Dags

l have attached some better pics for those who are interested. This car is most likely going to be my next, l am just waiting for my local dealer to get his one and only allocation in stock. l have spoken to a guy in Melbourne several times about his which he took delivery of just before Xmas. He reckons it goes way better than a stockie and that the guys at Docklands who did the tune development reckon its got closer to 210kw and that they way exceeded their 'trim 0.5 sec off the 0-100" target. Given that it is a very light car l am sure there will be enough performance to keep me happy. When you combine that with the subtle but horny body mods, quad pipes and really nice high quality interior its looking like a great package. The suspension features Sti springs and alloy lateral links plus Bilstein struts so it will handle very well. l reckon you get a good deal for $60k, apart from the Evo there is not much else that compares IMO. Cant wait to see one in the flesh.

Round and round it goes.......Is the M5 a better car, *beep* yeah

Ah now l see , l thought maybe he was the Steve Irwin equivalent of the shark world perhaps. Nope, he's a bum sniffer
