Ive been told a pump in the gearbox has also failed ("ripped itself to pieces"). Im asumming its a Automatic transmission pump that built into the gearbox? Does anyone know some more information on these? im having trouble finding anything

Currently at 330bhp.. with a flash tuner and air filter upgrade. I wouldnt mind increasing a bit in the future, nothing significant though (not over 400hp)

Hey Guys, Ive been observing the forums from afar for quite a while but now I actually need some advice. I took my BA XR6 Turbo out to Willowbank for the first time this week and on my 5th run as she went to change into 2nd, popped out of gear and I rolled the rest of the way. It wouldnt select and gears so I had to get it towed. Now my dilema... The workshop had told me the gearbox is shot,apparently the oil from it is black. Im not sure whether to get a reconditioned box or a 2nd hand one? Any thoughts on the options? I would imagine doing an excahnge for a reco'd 4spd would be the best option but a bit more pricey. Im in Brisbane,so if anyone know of some reputable transmission specialists or wreckers or something that would be helpful. The car is a late '04 BA XR6 Turbo 4spd triptronic auto. Im a complete noob mechanic, how hard do you think it would be to install one of there myself? from what you have said it doesnt seem too difficult.

Im looking at getting a system done soon, ive heard Redcliffe Dyno and Performance at Clontarf are good? Anyone got an exhaust done by them? Any other recommendations? my folks own a smash repairs so we could fit something ourselves.... What sort of dollars should I set aside? mainly just dont wana get ripped off.
