  1. I have only ever seen 2 Ute in envy green in Brisbane. The xr8 bonnet came with the Ute when I bought it, which was good because I was looking to do that mod anyway. On eBay the have fibreglass xr8 bonnets but don’t know how good they are. Best bet would be to get an original one from a wreckers imp guessing. I am looking to lower my Ute too but unsure which way to go about it.
  2. Nice ute mate great colour I rekon. You dont see many utes in this colour. It is almost exaclty the same as mine except I have the xr8 bonnet. All I need now is the hardtop, just got to find one in that colour. its an excellent experience to drive these beast.
  3. Thanks for the ref, had a quick look and not bad. I know that another forum member has a BF hard lid with wing for $1900. Bit to hexy for me. What would be a good price for a second hand genuine ford lid, Preff BA. I can get a white one for $1000, what do you think?
  4. Did you have the hot dogs or straight through pipe? I have heard that its not to bad with the dogs in. I am thining of doing it for the sound factor.
  5. I would most likely get it done professionally just for peace of mind. $300 sound like a good price, I could live with that. Sounds like its cheaper to get a second hand hard lid and do it that way. I like the look of the BA lids they seem to fit better I reckon. I was looking at the BF hard lid with the roll bar but for $3300 unpainted I changed my mind very quickly. Thanks for your advice thought it would be more expensive to get it painted.
  6. Thanks I didnt think it would be a hard job just wanted some tips before I started. What do u rekon I good price for a second BA hand hard lid would cost. I figure around the $1000 mark for one in good condition. what do u think.
  7. Hi In the market to buy a hardlid for my 04 xr6t ute in envy green. Because its a BA, ford don’t paint them envy green at the factory anymore (that’s what they told me) so was wondering if it was better to buy a second hand hard lid, strip the paint and then repaint it envy green. Or is it better to buy one from ford then get it painted. The bonus of getting it second hand and doing it that way would be the cheaper price. If anyone has done this before or has one for sale suggestions would be great. I live in Brisbane so would anyone know a good paint shop to go to?
  8. Thanks, have heard good things about exotic exhaust on the forum. sounds like the way to go thanks for the advice
  9. hi, new member here. Just recently bought an 04 envy green xr6t ute. After alot of reading on the forum about exhausts think I have decided to get the centre muffler removed and replace with straight pipe in stead of with the hotdogs. doing it for the sound effect and as it is a ute drone wont effect me (hence opting not to use hotdogs). Just wanted to ask if anyone new a good exhaust shop to go to on the south side of brisbane that do good work. any help would be great P.S, I like a nice loud sound but dont want it to end up like a B&S ute( loud) I want a nice hway note but then when you put ya foot down people will notice. is the straight pipe to loud? or is it the way to go.
  10. Thanks for all you help. I decided that the best was to go is to just get the centre muffler cut out and replace with straight pipe. its cheap and from what you guys have said the sound is . thanks
  11. is it louder with or without the hotdogs? do you get a drone when cruising
  12. HI I have just purchased a 2004 xr6t ute and am looking to improve the sound. I have been reading about replacing the centre muffler with hotdogs or straight pipe, or is it better to go a whole new system. the only prop is I have a budget of around $500. I am in a bind. I want a nice clean throaty sound when you give it a bit but I also want to notice it when driving around at normal pace. I was leaning towards the hotdogs but what do you guys recomend. Any help would be great.
