  1. You can get the Lights on kit through your ford parts supplier.
  2. Telstra vehicles have the "Lights On" kits fitted to them so that as soon as the ignition is turned on the headlights come on. The "Auto" Headlights are only available on the High series vehicles which I am lead to beleive includes the Luxury pack equiped vehicles.
  3. The front calipers on the BA and the Territory are both twin piston(2x42mm) calipers but slightly different in the mounts to allow for the bigger rotors. The rear calipers are BA-single piston 40.5mm,Territory-single piston 45mm Front rotors BA-Cast iron ventilated, diameter 298mm,Thickness 28mm Territory-Cast iron ventilated, diameter 322mm,Thickness 28mm Rear rotors BA-Cast iron Solid, diameter 303mm,Thickness 16.2mm Territory-Cast iron ventilated, diameter 328mm,Thickness 26mm BA Premium Brakes specifications- Front- Calipers-Twin piston 40.5mm Cast Iron Ventilated Rotors-diameter 325mm,Thickness 32mm Rear- Calipers-Single piston 40.5mm Cast Iron Solid Rotors-diameter 303mm,Thickness 16mm Looking at both vehicles it looks as though they would fit onto a BA but you would have to change the calipers as well. And from memory the Master cylinder may be different(Have to check on that one)
  4. In the month of May XR8's outsold Late model camira SS for the first time "EVER".Ford sold 267 XR8's to GM's 259 SS's. Also from today until the start of Sept Phantom will be phased out and replaced by "Velocity"(described as a "youthfull blue")
  5. Thanks rednut99.That image makes a great background for my puter.
  6. TSB 36/04 was released to dealers on Wednesday 9/06/04 regarding this repair procedure.
  7. SR-71 Went to work today and checked on the WDS and there is actually an option when programing Axle ratio/Tyre size to put in other dimension wheels. All the dealer does is enter the diameter, profile and section width and it actually gives you the correct rolling diameter to program into the PCM. One thing that may apply to your problem is a TSB that was released this week regarding poor idle and in some instances stalling. It has to do with excessive build up of oil in the throttle body. The TSB number is 36/04.Unfortunately for you is that you need to monitor the PCM using a WDS to see if your vehicle is being affected by this.
  8. My apologies.I forgot that you're a service advisor.
  9. Geeseman There isn't an option in the list of preset wheel sizes on the WDS for 19's.You will probably find that the wheel height and rolling diameter of your new wheels isnt that much different to the original wheels anyway. As I posted before the performance difference would be minimal as well.
  10. You could ask them to but there's a good chance they would be reluctant to do it.Unfortunately it would mean reinstalling an earlier release calibration into their WDS which takes a while to do.
  11. Please dont march in to your dealers and ask them to check the "Personality" settings. They'll probably just look at you stupidly and laugh. The personality settings have "Nothing" to do with the performance of your vehicle's engine or engine management. The only things that can be adjusted in personality are:- Taxi Mode Panic Alarm Inhibit Door Trigger Disable Mode Master Door Trigger Disable Mode Hazard Warning Inhibit Horn Warning Input Battery Saver Inhibit All the above are controlled by either the BEM,ICC/ACM or IC.Not the PCM The only other reprogramable parameters that may have some effect on engine performance are Axle ratio/Tyre size which are stored on the VID block of the PCM.But that would be minimal.
  12. Dean Just tell the to leave it alone. It's runnung perfect and just a service would be fine. Most dealers would be more than happy to just service it and nothing else.Just take note of your PCM in the engine bay before you take it in.Most dealers will either write on or stick a label on it to indicate that it has been updated.

    recall ba falcon

The recall they would be refering to would be PRGC 277 regarding the crankshaft timing chain sprocket.During testing if the sprocket is faulty the teeth break of the crankshaft tone wheel(the sprocket and tone wheel are one assy)Don't quite understand why they would break any other bolts while testing though. You only need to remove the electric fans,an idler pulley and the crank angle sensor to do the test.

    YUCK!

Always garaged.I wonder why. His Premium audio seems to be missing a speaker as well.
  15. The TSB that covers this concern is TSB 51/03. There is also a concern with the steering column bearing fitted to certain build date BA's but I'm not 100% sure what dates are effected. Will try and find out.
  16. If you are a betting man, "6" is a lucky number.For both Typhoon and BA2 GT. 5 spd auto's for 2nd build BA2.
  17. It is with great pleasure that I announce the safe arrival of a my beautiful baby.Weighing in at approx 1900kg she was safely driven from the back of her delivery truck on Monday morning at 9:00am.Both Mother and father are doing fine and looking forward to a wonderful life together.Time to go cruisin guys.
  18. Maybe we need road signs that state the way drivers think.
  19. At least we now know that our Expensive Daewoo counterparts aren't big drinkers.Any more than an esky with half a dozen cans in it is overloading them. Real tradesmen drive "real" utes.
  20. ...when you can get more information about your car from a public forum than from anybody in the entire dealership.
  21. If in doubt......don't
  22. A little bit of inside info on why they scratched your stud holes. As you all are aware that when the wheels are removed from your vehicles the wheel nuts must be retorqued to a set specification(135nm).This is done in 2 ways. 1/ By using an impact gun and a specially made Tork Stick that only just fits in the stud hole(17" rims)(doesnt fit 18" rims). It also has stamped lettering on it which procedes to tare the crap out of the inside of the stud hole. 2/ By using a thin walled 21mm socket and a torque wrench with a 6" extension bar therefore allowing plenty of clearance around the socket therefore avoiding any damage to the stud holes. Method 2 is a method widely practiced by "Real" mechanics. Method 1, well lets just say the rest.
  23. I'm with him.
  24. Sorry to dissapoint you guys but the NCO(no cost option) 18's are ONLY available on XR8 vehicles built from 04/05 to 04/09 along with prestige audio. If your salesman has done a number on you I would get him to check with his dealer principal and get him to check his bulletins regarding this.
  25. The engine management system doesnt particularly care whether its a sedan or ute but the cluster and body module need this info to work correctly(Instrument cluster needs to know fuel tank size for it's display calculations, The BEM operates the door locking and needs to know how many(among other things). Hope this helps cause this is as simple an explanation as I can think of.
