So how do you manipulate code that is stored on "Read Only Memory"???
  3. Was thinking of coming but I can't get my car going.I think I've got the same problem as this...http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=20398
  4. I think he means there's a cv joint at each end of the driveshafts.

    New Orleans

You missed one ani: Apparently the KKK have suspended their activities in New Orleans. The bodies are too water logged to burn.
  7. Look behind the Left hand headlight and you will find 2 connectors.Unplug them and make sure they're dry.Washing the engines in these vehicles normally doesnt bother them since they don't have distributors any more.Have seen a few with moisture in these connectors that effects the running.(Can even make them not start at all)
  8. Good to see you finally got those wings fitted Brian.Ask the guys at Heathcote.I'm sure they'll let you use their runway.

    Do You Smoke?

The only time I smoke is when I don't use enough lubricant.
  10. Theres a thought.I was only running 95PULP.
  11. Boost??????Whats Boost?OH that's what I'm missing.
  12. Absolutely Bog Stock.Even had a flat front tyre(26psi,rest 38psi). Did 4 runs while waiting for AdamXR6T's car to cool down. 1st : 15.3977 2nd : 15.4972 3rd : 15.1663 4th : 15.4080 Now I know where you guys get the bug for racing.Afterwards Adam was trying to convince me to go for a 14 but I'm really not that serious. Then you spend the next few hours thinking,"Now maybe if I launch.........,Or shift into this gear about...... Then I have a reality check and realise how lame my thoughts are compared to what the serious guys have to contend with. After all it's just a stock 6cyl XR. Hmmm,I wonder if I take my spare out and back seat and...............
  13. Scotty, What you're describing sounds like some sort of decent control(If the ABS unit is actually operating to slow the vehicle). To my knowledge there is nothing like this available on these vehicles.Would probably suggest you take it to your dealer and get it looked at.Would make it easy to find something wrong if you say it does it everytime. Hope this helps. I know it's tempting guys, but please don't turn this into yet another "Dealership Mechanics Don't Know F... All about anything" threads.
  14. Strange that you say HgAg is disappearing when Ford have recently announced that they've introduced it into the Territory range.
  15. That's pretty much spot on.The adaptive strategy of the PCM is to adapt the engine control and trans control to the way the owner drives the vehicle. So in certain cases the vehicle can actually be un economical due to the way it's driven and can be retrained simply by erasing the adaptive table(memory) of the PCM.With this in mind ,and if the adaptive strategy was still active with the edit, it may actually be benificial.
  16. Keep hunting. The dealership where I work does it at no charge. No point when we're actually benefiting from getting the original seats as a swap.Unfortunately for you is that they don't offer a discount for it.
  17. Thanks for that Ross.I've never heard it refered to as ESP.Venom is right also. The name Ford give thier system is Dynamic Stability Control on the Territory AWD's.It utilizes the Bosch 8 ABS control unit assy.Compared to the Bosch 5.3 system on the BA range.
  18. What's ESP???
  19. Don't forget Dave,we've even got photographic proof now.
  20. All I can say is that if today was a bad day, I've gotta be there on a good day. Personally , I had a great day.Great company, great conversations and great results for all the guys that raced. They were the fastest cars there by a long shot. XR6T Rules.
  21. As an employee purchase the vehicle must be kept for at least 6 months before selling it.If they are transfering it to your name that would be classed as being sold. What you do with the car now is your business.
  22. I think it's pretty safe to say that there isn't a manufacturer around that isn't actively investigating these types of things.Remember these types of modifications, whose primary objective is to vastly improve the performance of the vehicles they are installed on, are also produced to decieve the manufacturers. I also think it's quite naive of people to think that all "Ford Technicians" are as stupid as they think. It is quite easy to tell the difference between normal wear and tare and vehicle abuse.Remember these cars have been around for almost 3 years now and there is a high percentage of them that have never exhibited any of the problems that alot of people on this forum have had.
  23. It really is quite easy to tell.As long as you know how to interpret the information that you are reading.
  24. Just to add a different angle on this,Did it actually run any different when it backfired or did it just make a loud bang out the exhaust?? Point being is that when you remove mufflers and gut the cat then all the devices in the exhaust that are designed to stop the noises coming out the end are no longer there so the noise's are more audible. Hope this makes sense
  25. In a nut shell, Yes it can be done.
