HAHAHAHA you going to do a special warranty job for him. ← He'll have to be careful after it's all fitted up.Cover the rego plate if he post's any pic's just in case the cycle manufacturer reads this.
-
I'm more worried about your lack of mechanical skills big fella. The whole thing could end up being mounted to the handle bars.
-
Well, I wouldn't even have to do that if it's actually possible to change RCMs - I could just swap my RCM for the one in the car that now has my seats! From what FORDTECH was saying, I'm assuming the sensors are already in the B pillars and that it's just the RCM causing the problem. The question is whether it can be changed over or not. ← Nothing ventured, nothing gained. You will have to fit the side impact sensors though(not 100% sure that the connectors will be there though). Also the module isn't that easy to get to either.Mounts on the centre hump under console. You need to actually remove dash assy to get it out though.

Bugster, The seats that you removed would have had resistors in place of the side airbags(the yellow connector plugs into them). If you still have the original seats simply remove them and plug them back into your wiring connectors and the light should stay off and the system will work as normal. The air bag system is controlled by what is called a RCM(Restraint Control Module). It "cannot" be reconfigured and there are different modules depending on the air bags fitted to the vehicle.

No the bush shouldn't be welded in.If the bolt is turning then it has stripped the thread and the housing will need to be replaced. As for the time it takes, book time allowed is 3.4 hrs but after doing a few you can get it down to around 2 hrs in and out.Takes about half an hour to remove and replace the bush(providing it isn't welded in).You also require the alignment tools to refit the assy as if it isn't aligned properly it can affect the way your vehicle tracks.
-
Spot on.Unfortunately it's not something that the dealers can do though due to it being a safety item(You know, legal stuff and all that).

The DSC system on the vehicles is calibrated to suit the wheel size on each individual one.You can change them and it will effect them but you probably wouldn't notice. If you are driving your vehicle to the point where the system has to intervene to control your vehicle then there are alot of other things that would be taking place that would be drawing your attention(avoiding what you are/were about to hit). The system is mainly calibrated around the vehicles centre of gravity utilizing a Yaw rate sensor. If you change the wheels to a larger diameter rim size then you are probably also changing the profile of the tyre. Therefore there is effectively less flex in the sidewall movement of the tryes therefore effecting the calibration of the DSC.The same applies to lowering the vehicle from standard height. Hope this makes sense.

Nah,no mods.Wouldn't feel right having to warranty list myself. Didn't mean to bring that up.

Thanks JET,but it didn't even take that long.Somewhere along the line of 1 1/2 hours is her record.Hopefully she is a bit wiser this time around. :(
-
Seduce,Leather,Premium Sound and cheap as chips (cause I can).Just gotta finish lowering it then I'll be able to hand it over to SWMBO and see how long it takes her to scratch the front bumper like on the previous XR.
-
The worse part is, you know she would. And then turn around and rub it in my face.
-
Maybe now I can crack 15'on the quarter.
-
Yes fella's,after driving many of these things over the past 4 years(since thier release), I have finally bit the bullet and brought a "T". After seeing the release of the BFII and finding out that the XR series remains basically unchanged I have decided to step up to a "T". What can I say, these thing are f#cking awsome. I know they're an OZ built vehicle and they may fall short of high end quality, but hey, bang for buck, who cares.
-
There are 2 angles that can be adjusted on the rear.Camber and Toe.Also if they had the rear suspension assy out to do your seals it might pay to check that it was realigned with the guide holes when it was refitted. If it was done at a dealership they should have used the guide pins that every dealer should have.
-
Dash board assembly, out and in 4 hours.(No rattles, clunks or scratches.)If they're taking any longer I would be worried about who's doing it.

Here's a hint. :rokon:

yes. I'm not sure what they could have done. They usually only flash them if you complain about the car running badly. A 45,000km service consists of: -tyre pressures -brake inspection -change air filter -change oil filter -change oil -top up fluids incl p/s and brake fluid and washer bottle -check light bulbs ← And you call yourself a Ford apprentice. What happened to tightening the exhaust and inlet manifold bolts?? ← Isn't that part of the third return visit? ← That's right. It aint fixed properly till it's been done 4 times.

But you gotta admire their guts for gettin up in front of a crowd where the majority is a bunch of booze drinkin yobbo's.
-
Have you washed you engine recently??Whatever it is there seems to be evidence around your power steering reservoir cap that there has been something pooled up around it.Also if you look at the inlet manifold all the white spots indicate something has been sitting on it as well.Your coolant level looks fine though so it's hard to say what it could be.
-
Check your coolant level.Sounds like you may have a leak.Even though it's green normallywhen it dries it leaves a whitish powder stain.A pic would help.

18' tyres cannot be fitted with a tube because tube manufacturers don't make them. But if you want to take chances you could always get them to overinflate a 15' tube until it's tissue paper thin and explodes when you run over a peice of road gravel.
