Here's the kicker for you. They actually fitted AU series rotors to the rear of your vehicle.Seen it all too often. Also like to comment on the fact they've stated clearly on thier invoice that the throttle body clean also included cleaning the ISC (Idle Speed Control)which strangely enough your vehicle doesn't actually have one and they adjusted your idle speed which is impossible because its PCM controlled and cannot be adjusted using dealership diagnostic machines. Your service cost was about normal(a little bit high, obviously a city dealer somewhere). All the other charges were too steep though. Funny thing is after they ripped you a new a'hole they still reported that at 60000km you need front shocks and springs.

Sounds very familiar. You more than likely have a crook BEM(Body Electronics Module). Had one of these about 6 weeks ago with the exact same symptoms. Tried replacing the RHF actuator and it made no difference. When we tried to train the remotes the vehicle would go into learn mode but wouldn't recognise them. Not sure about the cost but I think the BEM was around the $400 mark plus about a bit under an hours labour to fit and retrain the keys to the new one. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I have a friend that is a highway patrol officer and he's a Expensive Daewoo man through and through but reckons they're horses for coarses. He says the SS's are relatively slow with thier take off from a standing start compared to the Turbo but once they're wound up pull about the same.In the wet for standing start takeoffs he reckons the T suffers from lack of traction due to the low RPM torque and traction control kicking in.But in the dry its a completely different story. The T floggs the SS. High speed stability has always been the SS's strong point and still is.The FG suffers from the same high speed floatyness of its predecessors but in the right conditions gets there a lot faster. As for the stability control well DSC/ESP is for colision avoidance, as is ABS, and in most instances if the vehicle is going sideways, rather than just swerving, no ammount of electronic control is going to help.

Fg Xr6 Turbo Engine Bay Pics

Has anybody noticed what looks like a plastic radiator support panel just in front of the air box or is it just me?? -
BA models yes.BF models impossible.Your resident locksmith doesn't have access to the online coding information required to do these.

senna_T is right. You only need to buy an additional key.During the programing procedure you actually erase all keys trained to your vehicle then train your 2 keys to it.Its actually a good idea if you purchased the car second hand to have this done as if you only got one key with the car then that means the previous owner still has the other one and could track you down and steal your car.Never heard of this happening but it is possible. By carrying out a key retrain you actually erase any other keys trained to your car. The car itself does actually need to have 2 keys trained to it to run though. The key itself is about $120 plus cutting and your dealer takes about 15-30 minute to train them with thier PDS/IDS.

I would've been more interested in finding out who put the fuel filter in the engine bay.

I dunno about anybody else but after reading this thread I can't wait to see what happens in the next round of the V8's. Great entertainment.

Sorry about the delayed reply Ross.Your dealer is right. After reading the campaign details it also applies to Premium brake systems as well.Brembo's are the only brake system that are exempt.
-
Yes they would if you supplied it.But maybe you wouldn't be happy unless they went out and purchased a 200 ltr drum just for you because you're special. As for the rest of the dribble, who really cares what brakes you run, it has nothing to do with the topic. As usual Ford are trying to do the right thing, and other forum members are trying to relay the information, but in the eyes of those who hold such disdane towards them will always critisize everything they do at every chance they get.

3 1/2 - 4 hours max. $360 - $400 max. Not a big job unless you've got sh*tloads of additional electrical/non genuine bolt ons that impede dash removal.
-
The campaign isn't for Premium or Brembo brake systems as they use different hoses already. The campaign is for sedans only and is only applicable to those vehicle identified by Ford. They are not contacting owners as the applicable vehicles will be identified when it is presented at the dealership for servicing. However if you have your vehicle serviced elsewhere then simply contact your nearest dealer and they can tell you if it is applicable to your vehicle.Unfortunately as much as I know a lot of members dispise thier dealers the repairs have to be completed by an authorised dealer.

Code 23 indicates a short or open circuit in the passenger side side air bag circuit. This code and code 22 appear after either front seat has beem moved after being in the same position for quite some time.

You're right,I wouldn't be impressed. But as a warranty administrator(which I am) all warranty claims, particularly when you are the second owner, are looked at a lot more closely than if you were the original owner.Unfortunately I have actually seen these shifts "glued" back on and customers try and claim warranty.I have also seen a hell of a lot of customers trying to claim things by deception.Bottom line is you are a victim of circumstance and even though you probably didn't break it why should Ford pay for it?? I know it looks like I am trying to defend thier decision to not cover the repairs under warranty and it wasn't your fault it's just that after dealing with so many people trying to dodgy thier warranty it pisses me off. 2c's

My point exactly. They do take a fair whack to break. This is why they would be disputing the whole "Warranty" repair argument. They simply don't break for no reason.
