  1. Finally took the plunge and did a deal on a G6ET Ego with Shadow trim. June 2010 build, registered 2 weeks ago G series Mats, 19s and 0017km on the clock for $46500 Drive away Did a lot of research and that's the best deal I could get anywhere in Melbourne. Pick it up this week some time. Already ordered lowered springs, FGF6 cluster and booked in for tint then after a few km's some extra power. Its sad when the mrs says it feels slow compared to the BA (341rwkw). Hopefully I enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed the BA
  2. Mines a series 1 BA. I retrofitted the dual zone which came out of a BF2 Typhoon from FTG Auto Salvage. Took it down to Coffey Ford in Dandenong and when I picked it up the clock was there much to my surprise. Dont know how but because I had a tripod and no other clock they must have just switched it on.
  3. From what I understand with the dual zone climate control you loose the clock in the ICC, is that right? thanks... I have dual zone and clock is displayed on ICC so it is possible
  4. Most brake places that make up brake lines can make this up for you . Its only a bent bit of tubing flared with fittings on both ends. Where you located?
  5. that's an awesome result and one that you should be proud of. Well Done !!

    Pbr M-series

Yep that's front and back complete ready to bolt on. I'm just a bit suss that if theyre so good why has pbr dropped the price so much.

    Pbr M-series

I can get these cheaper than equivalent spec Brembo's or AP's, just over $4k

    Pbr M-series

Yep that's the kit, they run a pad per piston like the R8 Audi. Apparently developed for the new Corvette by PBR. Dont know of anyone who has used them

    Pbr M-series

Yes they come complete with braided lines, pads, 2 bottles of brake fluid. Complete bolt on kit. Rotors are 2 piece, not sure if alloy hats or not.

    Pbr M-series

Yep, these are a 6 piston front, 4 piston rear with 2 piece 355mm rotors front & rear. Wonder how they compare to Brembos and AP's and if there are any dramas people have run into with these?

    Pbr M-series

Hi All, Looking for a bit of advice on a brake upgrade for my BA. I can get the PBR M-Series at a pretty good price and wondering if anyone has used these and what they think. How do they compare to the more common Brembo or AP upgrades?
  12. Hi All, Looking at freshening up the BA with a slightly stronger motor before I go the next round of mods. I know a BF F6 short is a common upgrade but my engine is still holding together (touch wood) with 300+ rwkw at the moment so thought why not build up the BA motor a little stronger. Now I know I need to upgrade rods and oil pump gears but rather than go forged pistons I have been thinking about using FG F6 pistons as I have heard (with no proof) that these are supposedly much stronger than BA. Can anyone confirm how good these pistons are and whether it is do-able and should I consider it an option?
  13. Phantom Paint Code is P3. Be aware though that Ford used at least 2 different batches of this colour that I am aware of and they are very slightly different.

    Lucas Pads

The lucas pads now also come in a ceramic compound to suit BA/BF front pads (not sure about rears) and are still very cheap. (well under $100) These are much cleaner with very little dust and work awesome. I have fitted them on the fronts of 3 BA's and also on the from of mine with the BF upgrade. Everyone has been wrapt. They work great and minimal dust. Cant go wrong in my opinion.

    Lucas Pads

Have been using Lucas pads for years. Theyre great value for money and are far better in my experience than the bendix ultimates. Work well cold and take a lot of punishment. We have used these on track cars when we had no other option and they were much better than expected.
  16. Did mine on the weekend on a BA. Definately 35mm, measured it with a vernier to be sure. 36mm would probably work but a bit loose.
  17. We used Quadrant back in the Ralliart and Gibson Motorsport days on street cars we were building as well as GTP and Targa cars. They definately know their stuff and have been involved in the motorsport industry for many years. Tell them your application and they will custom valve to suit.
  18. Its just a cap you should be able to pop it off and undo as normal.

  20. Being a car yard they will probably put the crappiest fuel they can get in it. Load in a generic 95 or 98RON tune, you could be one of the unlucky ones whos car will ping its guts off and you'll be picking up bits of motor off the road.
  21. I went to a paint shop and got them to match it up with a standard colour. They said the closest was an 'extra fine metallic'. Paint code on the tin is 513F. its just a 2 pak base coat with a touch of hardner.
  22. Finally installed my tripod which I must add is awesome (even if I broke one of the clips). Painted just the base in silver to match the ICC and put in blue ozegauge gauges (that's Scott). Looks awesome and I put in a night time shot to show the colour compared to the dash. Photos dont do it justice and gauges are a brighter blue rather than blue/purple, but looks great anyhow.
  23. I would suggest refitting it. One of the reasons for the undertray, if you have a good look at the way its designed is it directs most of the air coming from the bottom opening of your bumper through the intercooler.

Thanks for the welcome guys. There is lots of great information here and I look forward to meeting some of you guys on the meets and cruises. As for why BA MKI....I didnt see any real advantage in a BAMkII, and did consider a BF only because of the 6spd auto. Regardless of model, I would be pulling the motor down to strengthen it. I know people are running big outputs with standard BF's etc with the LPG rods and theyre holding, but I wouldnt want to take the risk that 1000km's from home a rod decides to say hello to the outside world. I liked the Phantom which isnt available in BF, the car was in great condition overall with nearly all the options I wanted, low kms, full service history, I knew the previous owner and it was the right price. Brakes and the 6spd auto are the only advantage although the brake upgrade to BF XR is cheap so its really only the 6spd auto. Is a 6spd auto worth the extra $10-15k to me? No.. But I will keep you all informed of my mods as I go.

Hi All, Thought I should finally post up on this forum. I finally bought myself an XR6T its a Phantom BA MK1 auto with leather and premium sound including sat nav with 60k. I have been on here reading through all the various posts for the last few months. Lots of great information. Mods are pretty limited at the moment. I have lowered it, swaybars and put on a set of 19" rims. Have also generic edit. I know a custom tune is the way to go but I have checked the AFR's and if anything its too rich. Rarely higher than 14.1 and usually 11-12 and lower under load. Shortly I will be pulling down the engine to strengthen the internals, then the fun can begin. Its my first Ford I've ever owned but have built and owned turbo cars of some description for the last 16 years. I look forward to doing mods and letting you all know how it goes.
