  1. Most of it bolts straight on. Headlight wiring for low beam is different. You will need to do some wiring changes as Mk1 uses a H4 which has a dual element globe with low and high. Mk2 only has single element globe
  2. Mr Sheen works a treat on your tint. Detailing clay and 0000 steel wool makes the outside glass easy to clean
  3. Happy Birthday boost26!

  4. wasnt cheap :( The seat foams and headrests were about $1k and trimming was about the same but worth every cent. Ever since I sat in a GTP at the motor show I knew I had to have these seats.
  5. I believe they are the same as Super Pursuit seats. I used the original G6ET frames so full electric. All I did was remove the original seat foams & headrests and replaced them with the GTP ones. The trimmer also added supports to the original frames to support the bolsters in the foams.
  6. I converted my G6ET seats. Bought some genuine GTP seat foams and had them trimmed in leather to closely match factory rears. One of the best things I have done. Love them
  7. Rim size has nothing to do with it. Its all about the tyre diameter. Unless the diameter is hugely out which would make it unroadworthy they have about a dozen options they can set your speedo to.
  8. I think your dealer is talking crap to you. I went from 245/35/19 to 245/40/19 which is a 5 % change in rolling diameter. Took it in to my dealer and asked them to correct the speedo for larger rolling diameter. They did it no problems and said its good that I got it reflashed to suit larger diameter cause it effects transmission shift points etc.. Checking on GPS it was only 1 km/h out at 100 whereas before it was 2k out. They have various options depending on tyre size, rim size has nothing to do with it. Only problem now is since I had it tuned with Xcal3 its back to original settings so my speedo is out again.
  9. When I did mine I marked it but then actually aligned the cradle holes with the chassis holes which was slightly different. Alignment came up perfect and cant say there is a noticable difference left to right. Will have to measure to see if there is a difference
  10. You need to take it to a Ford dealer to program the cluster to the car. Otherwise, as you have found out, car wont start. Had this done in my G6ET and the old mans G6ET. Had mine done pre-delivery and dads cost him $80.
  11. From what Ive read the DRL ones need wiring mods too as they also run a single element low beam globe. If this is the case the low beams would switch off when on high beam too. I dont think the wiring mods would be too hard, just a matter of finding the trigger wires from the headlight switch and wiring in some diodes so you can bridge the 2 together.
  12. The FG2 must run different wiring from the headlight switch. FG1 uses a H4 globe for the inners which is a twin element globe so when you switch to high beam the inner light switches to the 2nd (high beam) element and cuts power to the low beam element. I checked this today off the headlight plug. FG2 uses just a single element H7 globe for the inner (halogen or HID wont matter) so if its powered from the FG1 low beam circuit it will cut out when changed to high beam. So need to figure out a way of getting the power to the low beam when on high beam if that makes any sense. Will speak to the elec techs at work. Anyone got a headlight wiring diagram for FG or FG2?
  13. So do your low beams switch off when you hit high beam?
  14. Could this be due to the inner lights going off when you hit highbeam? If the projector runs a H7 as opposed to H4 in the original light the projector would turn off when you hit highbeam as H7's arent a Hi/Low globe. Any way around this?
  15. Put these on my FG with 300rwkw in a 245/40/19. Must say they are the best sticking tyre I have ever used including factory dunlops, Kumho KU31's, Pirelli Pzero's I can take off pretty hard without wheelspin. Infact it feels like Ive lost a heap of power but they just grip. Bit noisier than I expected but grips heaps better than when it was a stocky on the Dunlops.
  16. Get them from the US. I just received 4 x Pilot Super Sports Delivered from tirerack for just over $1400. Local price is just BS
  17. In Victoria we are allowed 15mm diameter increase on what is available factory on FG Series. Not sure what the regs are in other states? There is a 235/50/17 option available on the FG and a 245/35/20 is only 11mm diameter increase so its legal. If you look at Herrods FG's they also run 245/35/20's on the front
  18. I purchased some FG GTP foams and had the original frames modified & re-trimmed by Blackmans in a nice soft leather to match the G6ET. Best thing I ever did, awesome.
  19. You will find the full range speaker wires in the front kick panels. It will be the same colors as either the tweeters or door speaker wires, cant remember. If you follow the wiring up to your tweeters you will see where the 2 full range speaker wires turn to 4 (2 for tweeters, 2 for front door. They dont run a proper crossover just a capacitor up near the tweeter.
  20. So this would mean on a standard 19" (36 offset)factory rim 245/40/19 would fit on an FG? Can anyone confirm this as it would save me trying to fit one up as most tyre shops say it will rub on the upright or upper balljoint
  21. The fronts can definately go lower, that was straight out of the box. I lifted it as I wouldnt be able to get out my driveway. In the below pic, Front hub to guard is 335mm and rears are set at 325mm hub to guard. (the rear adjusters can still go down 20mm from current height). Ive actually had new springs made up for the rear as it was a bit too harsh on our crappy roads. Standard Pedders spring rates on these are 560lb/" front & 390lb/" rear. So I'll try the new 300lb/" rears this weekend
  22. Here is Pedders XA's on my FG with factory 19's. The fronts can still go at least 20mm lower.
  23. Ok, no luck with changing the delay on the ICC. I can vary the speedo and tacho brightness via the cluster menu but it doesnt make it come on any earlier. Took the G6ET to work today and yes its exactly the same. Never noticed it before. I think its going to annoy me now til I find a solution. Is it possible maybe the dealer can change the settings with their magic programming equipment?
  24. Thanks, I will give those a try
  25. Hi All, I've been driving around my mates FG F6 recently getting a few things done. Love it and it feels very different to my G6ET. Anyway, I notice the instrument cluster doesnt light up with the headlights but instead seems to come on once it gets dark (possibly from a sensor through the windscreen). Anyway, no probs but now I got the windows tinted for him and at dusk just before it gets dark through the front windscreen, I turn the lights on but the cluster doesnt light up soon enough and gets hard to read cause the light from the side windows isnt getting in. Does anyone know a way to change this so it lights up earlier?
