oh and for those that are assuming no work has gone into this.... really??? Take your blinkers off! You have no idea how hard passionate people who love this car and brand within Ford had to fight to get this car to the end of the line and to achieve what they did with next to no $$$ More power, 351kw regardless of conditions, 400+ (650+ Nm) in reality above 4K rpm (transient overboost) except when in 1st, recalibrated ECU and Trans, recalibrated Bosch ver 9 TC with launch control, Rspec rear now with camber adjustment, and all the other things inside the cabin and the new sticker theme. 0-100 in 4.5 to 4.6, low to mid 12s qtr.

Thanks for posting my pics of the GT Race car concept. I supplied those on another forum some years ago!

ive seen front and rear, just think a more modern interpretation of FG with definite cues from new Fusion/Mondeo. I just think they've actually pulled off the head lights and rear lights BETTER than mondeo/fusion. Territory no where near as much of an upgrade to styling as Falcon. Basically, just Fog light inserts different.

Bunna, I take it you haven't seen the clays of the 2014 Falc? you seem pretty deflated? considering your #seek.com.au comment?

I can see a nice opening for the return of the XR8 All FPV V8 are going to up a rung, making more headroom for XR8 in the lineup. Interesting ownership manuevering in the whole FPV/ProDrive venture also, probably designed to wipe away some debt!

Just wait for the update boyz!

I'm not so sure about that Panda. Remember the fusion/Mondeo is not a late car, sure it's fairly close and may even be acceptable for most though, but, you think ford would risk giving up local revenue stream of falcon and territory? Even at current sales volume, the higher transaction price and profit of the E8 platform would be hard to replace with an import. They're struggling as it is with imports, ie meeting demand, so local production is still important and a significant chunk of their revenue.

Definitely a diesel thing. I've been trying to reduce it in our 2012 Titanium by trying it in Performace mode etc. If left in D, I think it tends to take off in 2nd, push the stick over to Sport mode, put it into 1st and see if it improves response. It seems to for me, but it really isn't that big of an issue for me. You get used it. I believe Herrod are working on a tune that will potentially get rid of it and also increase overall power/torque a fair bit.

If you have no luck Cranny, I can get you touch with Chief Engineer at FPV. They may well just tell you to follow process and liaise with the dealer, but if you are unsatisfied, then it wont hurt to try the direct line. I will unavailable until early next week as I'll be on a plane, but am here until midday Sunday. Hope it goes well for you.

In terms of the pic in this thread, that's the pipe dream, it was for a comp as has already been mentioned, what's not a pipe dream is that there is something above and beyond what's on offer at the moment. When we see it and how it will be advertised is uncertain to me, what I do know is that it's got enough mumbo and trq to be breaking many parts in the car!
-
what if they already have invested in 'something' that is beyond what is currently on offer? I think all the evidence is there for all to see, don't need my insider knowledge to spell it out surely? It just won't be regarded as a HO, but it's not what's on offer now that's for sure.
-
no way it will be advertised anywhere near 400kw, good chance it won't even be called a HO, what will be impressive is the TrQ!

My job doesn't depend on sales of any of these products, and I'm not talking about the viability of local manufacturing. All I was addressing was the perceptions and misinformation that you seem to be pushing about the fuel economy of the Diesel Territory. Besides that, I agree with most of what you said. Today's consumer and competitive market is making it very hard for ALL local's to compete, but there are some obvious and legitimate reasons for the low sales of the local product, and that lies squarely on high level management at Ford Australia and their failed strategies in the past which has now put them back ~2yrs!

XR09 - ahhh so now you are trying to extrapolate your experience with a 5yr old Disco that weighs a fair bit more than a Territory and think it will perform just as badly. I've got news for you, it craps on the Disco for performance and economy. Believe what you choose, I've driven them, I choose not to believe the flog writing for drive.com.au. I have my own experience that goes way against what he has written and many will back it up when they buy them and start getting their km's on the clock. All I'm saying is that 1 media outlet with their one test doesn't necessarily mean that's the be all and end all...give it a chance, writing it off before even giving it a go is a bit harsh don't you think? did you look at other reviews from goauto, carpoint, themotorreport, caradvice etc etc? They ALL go against drive's experience and achieve much better figures and state that Ford's figures are believable, I believe the same.
