  3. Mine had to have a new brake line made up because of this. The previous owner had a major brake failure because the BOV rubbed thru the line eventually. FIX IT ASAP!!!!!
  4. Ebay is your friend
  5. I recently made my first insurance claim (that's right, I'm 30+ and just made my first claim!) thinking the same. I'd blow my rating and the excess would be as much as the claim itself. Pleasantly surprised to find out that my rating will stay the same and the excess was f*ck all compared with the damage. To top it off, if I did the repair thru the insurance company the panel beater said there was a few other things he could do for me, such as replace the rear bumper with a new one rather than a second hand one etc
  6. The technology with ABS has improved outa site too. My EB has ABS and the brakes are absolute sh*t while the ABS scares the crap outa me. But my T on the other hand has sensational brakes. Hard luck about your car mate. hope you get it fixed soon. Don't forget that insurance will also cover the steering damage so it may well be worthwhile just giving them a call.
  7. Yeah...somethings not quite right here....... RIP "The Rabid Wolverine" and his family.......they will be missed
  8. The claim from Transport SA was "It's not the standard valve so it is illegal" which loosley translated means "we can't be f*cked talkin to you so this is the easy option"
  9. Its the manual one. Still haven't decided what I'm gunna do with it. I have to remove it in the next week so my car can get the defect lifted. Will make a decision then.
  10. No they were already tinted. He did them using the spray on tint. IMO he got the dark just right cos when I first looked at the car, I didn't pick that they were tinted.
  11. For those that are interested my GFB Stealth FX may be up for grabs (may be) Watch this space........ Why???you say... Cos the noise sh*ts me and I would rather get left alone by the plod now (getting too old for their sh*t)
  12. Was actually thinking that this wouldn't be a bad idea. Will keep it in mind (if batteries aren't flat in the camera (which is the usual problem ). and I don't get all excited and do it then think "sh*t...no photos)
  13. Since I bought mine there's been a lot show up here too.... wouldn't mind a trip to Queensland though...(its bloody freezing here at the moment)
  14. Apparently it is too low....at least that's what plod said as he wrote out the defect notice. He pulled me over as I was doing 50 in a 60 zone and let the rustbucket that just zipped past me at 70 odd ks go. Anyway it appears that the game for the night was to defect the newest possible car. The six (yes SIX, that's your taxpayer dollars hard at work hey)cops looking over my car and a real late model skyline were bragging to each other about the newest cars they had pulled up and stickered that night. I am not whinging about the defect; it was too low. My problem is that they defect an 03 BA cos it looks nice and let the restbuckets with no exhausts and bald tyres stay on the road. And why does a cop have the expertise to slap the sticker on for being too low but he can't use the same tape measure to check to see if the ride height is legal? The process is the same.....So an untrained person can tell me it's not legal but I need a trained engineer to tell me it is legal. End rant by a very irratated T driver BTW have got a set of XT springs coming to restore it 4wd ride height, clear the defect and then (more than likely) put the old ones back in. EDIT: dyno results were dissapointing:202rwkw but had detonation problems due to f*cked spark plugs. Toddys standard XR6T was a real surprise on the day: No mods other than removal of the Air Filter (which is a K&N anyway) and he got 208+rwkw...that car is just a freak!!
  15. Nah that's as I got it. It's a bit too low as I quite often have to tow a trailer (haven't behind this car yet). Will be doing some research this week into a different style of suspension setup :flameman:
  16. Congratulations matey but I Can see some sleepless nights in the next 2 weeks :flameman: Don't forget the
  17. "Never argue with idiots because they will just drag you down to their level, and then beat you with experience every time". Will be remembering that one!!! :flameman:
  18. I'm not sure of the breed of the cooler As far as an edit goes: I can't wait to get it on the dyno!! Then hopefully the Mrs will see the other cars generating some high numbers...then I can drop hints for my Bday :flameman: Thanks for all the comments guys that's the sort of thing that makes owning a nice car worthwhile
  19. They're right...with all the leaks it is gunna be hard to keep interest in the current models.......
  20. Got a bit of a confession to make: I didn't do any of the mods; I bought it like this... . I've just cleaned it up and detailed a few bits such as the brakes, and a few bits under the bonnet. I wondered about doing the cooler before the edit too Heres a pic of the underbonnet. Just some fiddly bits I did over a few beers...and it beat the sh*t outa mowing the lawn......
  21. Now that were back on topic Number plates on Turbo: BJSEM1 (combination of my name, wifes name and family name) Number plates on XH ute: XHUTE0 (duh ) Number plates on EB XR6: who cares???? (theyre standard )
  22. Cleaned the car up today (day off ). Took it out the road and took some pics Will post some dyno numbers soon...... BTW Car is an 03 Turbo Mods: Larger Intercooler Defillipo Exhaust Stealth FX BOV (which I didn't put on there and is turned right down) Herrod Suspension 19" Wheels To come: EDIT!!!!!!
  23. I've gotton to the stage that I just don't watch the V8s anymore. Between HSV making up the rules and Channel 7 f*cking up the telecast It's all just too hard.
  24. THAT is an XH. When it rains I have a tonneau cover. To also solve this problem I have put a piece of the rubber stripping that goes around the doors acroos the top of the panel that folds up to hide everything. It wasn't intentional but this is surprisingly waterproof. Hey trough lolly...what do you mean by no comment??? No raz there, just wondering.....
  25. See the cops, then lodge a claim through your insurance company. Yes you will have to pay the excess but then its up to your insurance company to chase them for the dough. Either way the worst you get is 1 or 2 weeks without the car (easy for me to say I know) and perhaps out of pocket your excess (in my case 250 bucks)
