  1. 2012 MK11 FG F6 - Winter White, ZF Auto, Leather. 298kms, 43 years youg.
  2. The map sensor is located on the intake manifold, directly under the throttle body.I didn't change this until the car was tuned. The car ran fine straight after the con version was complete. But no more than psi of boost, anymore and it will be lean. I ran my car without tuning for about a month without any problems,
  3. Sounds good. mine is making 222rwkw on 10 psi, if I lower the comp ratio it would make more power, had the same problem when I put a GT45R on my Gen 3 VT SS.With this power level it is really starting to tax the driveline in my ute. One week after getting the car tuned the box started to whine very loudly. I thought is was bearing noise, but it turned out to be the hard facing onthe input and cluster gearset was getting worn off by the tourqe of the engine. I had the box rebuilt only to have it destroy 3RD gear and then the rest of the box 3 days after the rebuild. Note to the people who want to do this conversion= use an auto as the std T5 is way to weak. Cheers RC
  4. Ok guys I had the car tuned @ HPF thursday the 21/02/2008. The first thing that became apparent was the standard injectors were on the small side. Given I was only in melbourne for the day only I made the decision to re-book the car for the following wednesday, to have some BOSCH 42lb injectors and a walbro 255ltr/hr pump fitted. The end result was 222.3RWKW on 9 psi of boost and I could not be happier. The car has way more mid-range punch than my old gen-3 and is nicer to drive than when it was N/A. Well done to the guys at HPF.
  5. Just thought I would share my experience with the turbocharging of my 2004 BA XR6 ute. I had pondered this conversion for some thime, the pros and cons ect, and finaly decided to turbocharge the standard asprirated motor. Leading upto christmas I watched ebay and the trading post for the items I required. I managed to source nearly 90% of the conversion on Ebay. This may sound a bit risky but worked out well in my favor in saving some cash. Having a plan that I would use as many factory parts as I could, anything that I could not buy 2nd hand I bought new from the local ford dealer. The conversion itself took the best part of the weekend. and is very straight forward. before Getting ready to drill and tap the sump. 16mm hole for the oilretun and 2 M8 tapped holes. Pack the flutes of the tap with grease to minimise fileings goning in the sump I decided to replace the 2 original hot water pipes with the ones designed for the turbo cars. The maifold and turbo are bolted on as a single unit. The cold side of the intercooler pipework being installed Sorting out the intake pipework. Mounting of the intercooler. The parts of the loom here need to be tied back as far as possible. (heat) The finished product. As you can see the assembled engine looks almost like a factory one.(except for the red rocker cover) A couple of other items you will need are a "tee" peice for the water return (bypass) heater hose, and an adaoptor for the oil preasure sensor to allow the turbo io feed line to be bolted up. The guys at HPF will be fitting 42lb injectors and a Walbo 255 intank as a preliminary dyno run indicates that my injectors are way to small. MY PARTS LIST SUPPLYER COST Turbo, manifold, lines and sheild. FTG Autosalvage $2000 Factory I/c and plenum+pipes E-Bay $200 Factoy exhaust and dump. E-bay $150 Genuine ford water pipes Ford $130 Genuine ford heater by-pass Ford $35 Monza intercooler Auto bahn $350 Boost controler Turbosmart $150 2 bar map sensor hpf $200 spark plugs NGK NGK $50 As I type this the car has a little over 200RKW@ 4000 rpm. Will be back in the shop next wednesday for final tune. THis has been a great proect for the DIY . Cheers Richard
  6. Hi guys, I am having a debate atm wether or not to convert my presantly n/a XR6 to a turbo boosted one. The problem being to buy all the bits required and convert my n/a engine, or do I buy a complete turbo engine and pcm and fit that. I am not chasing huge power and dont want to blow my wallet either, so I figured I would ask the people that are in the know because I sure as hell dont . Cheers Richard
