  1. Id be checking the amount of fluid in the box first, and getting a service done. Trans cooler would also be quite helpful if not already done. As long as its not slipping it hopefully for your sake should be fine.
  2. Hi guys, Im a bit new to the XR6T scene, however ive been wanting to get a custom tune done on my XRT. Currently with: injectors, valvesprings, 3.5" dump, hi-flow cat, monza cooler, its making 283rwkw. Ive since added a Bluepower CAI, and walbro fuel pump. Now this was through a custom tune using a CAPA flash box. I came across this on ebay the other day so I made a few inquiries. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Dyno-Tune-XR6-Turbo-Xr8-Boss-Ford-Territory-Or-LPG_W0QQitemZ320424903961QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Car_Parts_Accessories?hash=item4a9ad00519&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 Gave them a call, and ive gotta say they are very helpful and really happy to answer most questions, anyway they say that the car needs to be returned to stock by ford, before they are able to do custom tune which is directly loaded into the ford computer itself. What I was wondering was is what are the pro's and cons pretty much of using a flash box as opposed to having a tune done this way directly to the computer? Has anyone else used this offer on ebay? Any help appreciated.
  3. Well after checking every single pipe and hose like 14 times over, finally figured out it was a split throttle body joiner, which connects to the cross over pipe! what a painn in the ass! Fairly petty thing, but some other novices like myself might find that helpful in the future!
  4. Thanks guys, got it all sorted, tightened a few hose clamps and cleaned up the pipes, seemed to have the leak throught the hoses. As for the turbo fittings, ill probably be getting that sorted sometime next week. On another note though, I pulled off the piping from the turbo off, to fit a "dose pipe" but got over it pretty quickly and fitted it all back to standard. Whilst doing this I also pulled off the pipe from under the battery, to get easier access, and refitted it also. Now its all back to normal, until I drove it for a couple hundred K's, gave it a squirt and somethings popped off.. SO I check all the pipess!!! over again took em all off and made sure there was no gaps and everything was tight.. But I think I have a huge boost leak somewhere. When the turbo kicks in its almost like the BOV is open like all the time!! I can hear it loud, but its not like spool sound its like the BOV opening sound. I also had flutter normally with the standard pipes, but since this I just hear a massive whoosh, and no flutter. Is this possibly wastegate related? something fallen off? Any ideas wherelse I can check, Im 100% sure there no leak from the cross over pipe, or the under battery \pipe or the turbo to crossover pipe. THanks
  5. Yeah its got green coolant in it. The one near the transmission, had a leak, but it all dried up, and sortof crumbled on my figer when I touched it. Thanks for the replies, ill give it a shot guys.
  6. Hey guys, Fairly new to here, and the xrt scene, but just noticed on my 03 BA XRT that theres a weird orangy corrosion forming where the water lines connect to on the turbo? Is this something that should be looked at asap? and what can be done to fix it. Also noticed that a hose to the back near the firewall, is also leaking similarly? now what im confused about is its leaking down onto the front of the transmission, but it seems to be coming from the ends of the pipe where the hose clamps are, where do these hoses go to?... Heres a few pics to give you guys an idea. Any help would really be appreciated.
