The STC tune goes around a 40kw gain or just under from what I understand (on the XR5). Just basically remapping the existing ford programme from what I gather. Ive looked at the Stratagem tunes they are using over in Europe, in particular the UK. Vey similar results. It appears as though this area of tuning is still in its teething stages here, and have also been advised by a few people to be mindful of the overseas tune available, as its not for the Aus software on the vehicles. At the end of the day, the car will never go like the 6 I had and after having the 5 for a couple weeks, Im sort of missing the power but on the other scale loving the fuel costs.

Not sure what sort of power. I havent spoken to Ali yet. Ive been on the dreamscience website to do a little investigating about the stratagem flash, which is suppose to be getting some reasonable results overseas. Would be good to see if anyone has any info on this.

Funny someone mentioned look for gutter jumps. Last time I passed a cop, he jumped across a medium strip which had a gutter at least a foot high

At that price sounds good to me mate. Warranty is the key. I believe there is a misconception with the police cars. They can only go so hard in front of the public eye, I can almost garuntee that a private sale on a tricked up XR would have substained more of a bashing that what the cops would do.

Hi Guys, Does anyone know if CAPA have released a flash for the XR5. Theres another one there selling on ebay but its $1000. It starts with an S... from memory. Its appears no software has been released as yet...

I would have thought a lot less KW gain from an air filter, cheap yes, but extreme power no. As Senna T said, a custom tune without a doubt would be my first pick and what sort of cash you got would certainly make a difference.

Ive seen the red SS, its not only round the botany area unless there is more than one. Ive also seen it on Canturbury road. I was next to a Skyline, couldnt be bothered booting it. I thanked my lucky stars cause the SS was behind me. Ive also seen the black SS around botany area as far up as redfern. Dont know if they are the same car. Ive also seen a yellow F6 on Canturbury road pulled someone over near bankstown airport.

AWC is the way to go. A mate got his from there and was happy, plus they have a few of the models options. I was tossing up wether to do the same on mine, black car but pulled out. Ive seen black on toxic, looks good. Ive also seen silver for a more suttle look.

Hi Bud, Thanks for that. Its good to see the guys on the forum have put out a good hand. Ive had a few PMs aswell which has been great. I found a company with GT's by luck as he doesnt show up when doing google hits and waiting on a quote. Some of the other just wanted too much money and this guys seemed really reasonable, not to mention one of them ran 10s. I think he does it moreso to take his cars out, so that's why his costing are far more reasonable. More passionate than a business. I should know today if we will be going with him, if not Ts are back on the cards. Cheers Dave

Im seriously now considering this as an option but will have to address this with the Mrs. With the savings, who knows, maybe I can con her into allowing more mods for the T. Ive got a black T with XR8 bonnet and FPV BF rims on it. Soon to put the silver stripes down the side. I seen one almost identical the other day XRLOOK. Really nice. If I could get the same colours, obviously will look the part.
