  6. I noticed this morning when I helped my cousin do the paper run (needed to stop lots of times)... sometimes when I went to take off, the engine would just rev, and slowly move, but then once it started moving, then the car just went fine... untill I stopped, and waiting there for a cpl minutes, then would do same thing (rev high / move slow, then go properly). Is this something with the belt also? or is it something else :o
  7. Just when changing gears.... Could be a belt slipping though... but would it always make the noise if its belt slip? cause it doesnt always make the noise
  8. Hi, I have had my XR6 Turbo for about a month now, and I was just wondering if it was normal for it to do a squeeking sort of noise under hard acceleration. Its a 2003 4 speed auto, sometimes if I plant my foot from around 50km/hr or so, when it changes gear, I think the turbo makes a squeek sort of noise... it sounds like a BOV... is this normal? Its different to the flutter noise I sometimes hear when I let off the accelerator at around 3000rpm. I will try and get a video of my car, to see if you can hear it on the video...
  9. Took it to South Auckland Motors, and got a new metal pipe etc, and new hoses, it now looks normal now (with small black hose). They said that the cause of it corroding was probably because the previous owner may have put just water in the coolant resivour, rather than the proper coolant.
  10. Yea, was wondering if it was a different pipe. Does anyone know what would cause the metal pipe to corrode like that? Might get a new metal piping... would need to replace the other one also, cause they are both corroded.
  11. Hi, I have just recently (a month ago) purchased a 2003 XR6 Turbo, and I have so far come across an issue with the coolant, in that the pipes seem to keep bursting... The car yard is using some random garage to do the work, which I think is probably the problem... Today, it happened again, so I thought I would take some pics of the pipe in question... its a small pipe, that attaches to two small metal pipes, it seems they go to the turbo, they are on the right hand side of the engine, near the air filter box... The metal pipes seem to be out of alignment, which I think is the cause of the issue? I have attached some pictures of the pipe im talking about... this is the second time its gone... After taking the black piping off, I noticed the metal pipe has holes in it, and it looks like its rusted!! is this normal? or is the actual metal piping broken? Also, is there even supposed to be the black piping on it? it looks like someone may have just used the black plastic piping thing to cover up something?
