  1. Problem fixed, It was a bad Earth, from the horn mount. The car looks like it has had the x-member replaced by a panel beater but did not clean paint off enough to create a better earth. Thanks mate for you input.
  2. My 2003 BA XR6T. The Horn has suddenly stopped working? I have never had a problem with it until now. (car is standard-no electrical modifications). First thing is I checked all fuses-Pulled all fuses in the interior fuse box located above bonnet release & allso in the engine bay fuse box, All ok. Replaced the horn relay, from fuse box located in engine bay-off another mates BA that works. - Still not working. Removed horns x2 from front welded x-member, checked they were not blocked with dirt, insects etc, they should'nt anyway they point downwards, Horns ok.- Still Horns not working. Sanded a little paint from horn mounting on welded front x-member, To aid as a better Earth point contact. -Still Horns not working. Tried the Horns off my mates BA that work, put them on my car- Still no Horn. Removed airbag from steering wheel, As thought there maybe a possibility that the connectors may have came loose. Everthing checked out ok, No issues there. Tried the Pannic button on the remote, No Horn, but all hazard/indicator lights flash. So I'm still scratching my head as to what the hell has gone wrong here. Can any one help me out please, is there anything I have missed checking?
  3. Thanks Matt, What a differance a nice blue led can do to the switches, Now I can easily see my switches amongst my black interior at night. Recommended & honest not many people go out of there way to pick up my switches, upgrade them and bring them back. Thanks Ben.
  4. As typical Ford problem, My brakes are Crap, probably need machineing and new pads fitted. Now does anyone know of a reputable workshop to get my discs machined in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne? I'm sick of "Dodgey workshops" that have no idea of what they are doing, I'm planning on taking the discs off myself and just let the workshop machine them, as there is still plenty of life left in the rotors. Cheers.
  5. One thing I do know is they are "Bad Rust Buckets". I should know I spent 2 months at work cutting rust out, And every second hand panel the owner bought in for replacement was just as bad. Lots of Bog was the solution. End of the day a HD or HR will never be a collectable car the max you'd get would be $5,000, If it was a Monaro or Torana then you have money. The price of Aussie Muscle cars id through the roof at the moment.
  6. My old AU. I had to replace, the RHR door lock mechanism/solenoid, And buy the jumper wire from a BA to fit it. Now since I own my BA the LHR door lock has gone and needs replacing, It pisses me off Ford cannot get a solution to the problem, you have to buy a complete lock assembly and they are not cheap around $150 I have been quoted so far. It is scary I found out by accident that the lock does not work I suggest to others to check your cars as well, as that door unlocks every door.
  7. I want to flush my cooling sytem out with a product like NULON, MUKOUT whatever, Just to try and get rid of the casting sand colour in the coolant, My car has done 100,000km/s and is needing a fresh change of coolant anyway. I'm not familar with the XR6 motor as far as bleeding air from the cooling system, is there a nipple as such to bleed from?
  8. Sure, As prices of BA's drop more will be bought, by younger drivers and modified. The fact is VLT's today are dirt cheap but are generally stuffed, suffered a hard life, So less people are getting into them when newer cars are availble for cheap. I have seen alot of "P Platers" with the turbo badging stuck on when in actual fact the car is a N/A no front mount inter cooler, Try hards. I own a VL Calais turbo, As well as a BA XR6T. I have owned my VL for over 10 years, been a really good car but, I agree to many "Tossers" own them and think they can out run anything on the road, which give owners like myself a bad rep, not that I care. Police don't pull me over anyway. So answer , Probably will be the next VLT.
  9. I would not use any derale product on my car, I ran a Derale tranny cooler complete kit on my VL Turbo and not only did the hose ballon and blow from pressure but the cooler did'nt do it's job and fried my oil pump in the tranny, And it was'nt even getting driven hard. I use LPD cooler made in USA "Low Pressure drop" does the job fine now.
