when removing it just be carefull you dont damage the gasket, so you can reuse it,... as far as cleaning it, carby cleaner will be the ideal thing to use, but I dont think contact cleaner would cause a problem

just out of curiousity I just went and removed and plugged the vac line off my BOV, took it for a drive didnt seem to make a difference in noise (mine does run standard boost levels though) and if anything, it felt like it had reduced power....

The main reason manufacturers fit them to cars at the factory is to reduce the noise MOST of us here want to increase.... not every xr6t driver is a boy racer

As much of a ford fan that I am, the dealer where I work used to be a Ford AND hyundai dealer, and ill tell you now, hyundai's leave ford for dead when it comes to build quality and warranty issues and support... I still wouldnt be caught dead owning one though

I thought the edit wasnt able to fiddle with the ZF's TCM yet??? also my car chirps second gear and its pretty much stock.... unless your car is putting out more power leading you to beleive its shifting better....then again, what do I know

How loud is it??? lifters only usually give a tapping or ticking.... a knock tends to be related to bent rods in these cars alot of the time, ive seen stock ones bend rods, last week I pulled an engine out of a BA MK2 turbo only had a cat back on it and had bent No6 rod....

Tell me about it!!! I flashed an F6 calibration into my xr6t today at work, just for a little fun (gonna flash it back tomorrow as ABS TC and DSC dont work due to different ABS modules, also oil light stays on due to diff senders) but its given me a nice tease, especially since I have a flash tuner from my last car sitting 2m from me right now

I work for a Ford dealer which used to be a ford/ hyundai dealer, and I can tell you now, a Getz is a good choice, we only ever have issues with manual rental cars that have had the ass driven out of them and have grenaded g'box's, other than that theyre pretty faultless... as for people suggesting an excel, they havent been produced since the late 90's,.... they might be thinking of the Accents
