Hello, My mates dad is building a project GT40 replica, and has pulled an XR8 engine from an auto equipped BA wreck. What changes, if any, would have to made to make the engine ECU run with a manual he is planning to install? Can a version of Edit be used to kill two birds with one stone? Going by my mates additude to motor vehicles (like father like son) , the Boss 260 won't cut it in stock tune anyway. Sorry if this has been covered previously-was in a hurry. Thanks in advance. Chris....

Hey Lads, No tappet head is the old man,but he picked up a full LPG BF ute to replace his trusty S-Pack XH. It has 50000k's but is still under warranty. It's using 17Ltr/100k's,where Ford quote the average I think at 13Ltr/100k's. Ford admit there is something wrong but haven't fixed it (can't by the sounds)after a half dozen sleep overs, and are now just deciding to fob the old fella off. Anyone got experience with LPG BA-BF's? Some independent mechanics reckon that the problem lies in the Gas Coverter being stuffed. For Ford to swap it out takes proof, and from what the he has been lead to believe,Ford won't realease diagnostic data to non-Ford agents. There is only one LPG capable Ford dealer from my understanding in the Newcastle/Hunter Valley area. Any help appreciated. Makes me feel like switching to GM. Cheers Chris....

Hey Guys', A rare post from me....... Anyone have trouble with their BA boot leaking? Noticed a bit of a stench from the boot of my 03 BA-I don't open it much. Pulled the spare out and noticed a little bit of mud below. One of the 2 rubber bungs was out-I didn't take it out,it's either fallen out or been removed by the previous owner. I could see some very small dribble marks down into the spare well, but culdn't make out there origin. The carpet cover doesn't smell like meldew and appears dry. I don't know if the water is actually bleaching into the open bung hole(lol),or actually leaking in from above somewhere. The smell to me is the spare sitting in some water-there is actually a "Dunlop" impression in the paint on the bottom of the well. Thoughts? Chris....

165000 (yes,165Kkm)-no issues-usual ser 1 early brake wobblies,a radiator at about ,60000k,AC motor at 120000,all on warranty.........only put edit thru it at 160000.......best car I've ever owned. Power window drivers side is sticking though-seems the workshop manual PDF's floating around here have got everything but what you need to fix anything......... Chris.....

2003-Lease pack car on a 3yr/135000km lease.Travelled 220km round trip to work at the time so long K's they are.Illustration was getting 40000k's a set of tyres with regular rotaion/balance and alignment, otherwise I had to pay for them(lease policy rules). Finished the lease, a mate bought it from the lease mob and he kept it for 12 months. Still solid, minmal rattles no leaks or stinks. Where I live mate,100000k's is just run in lol.... Whats the difference between doing up a modern car than busting out on an XB with 351C? You can wind back the odo on the xb. Nice avatar btw,Ace at his peak was a champ! Chris.....

Hi there, Before I start,I flashed edit as well as new plugs into my baby on Friday and wow(a mission changing the plugs as it was)! Nailing it from 80kmh and felling the front end rock back is a rush! Interested to on some opinions as my car has 160000k on it now and what might be at risk. It's been mine for 75% of it's life and never been really terrorised. So making upgrades in addition to preventing potential death issues is definately what I'm talking about. Fire at will! Chris....

Is there a repair manual around for the turbo's-I'm sick of Ford service ripping me off and last service they left a hose of the CAI Chris........

Hi Lads, I'm having issues with my 97 XH van.Standard 4.0 and 4 speed slushy on tree. Sometimes, driving(normally)away from a standing start,it locks in first gear and won't upshift-until about 60+ kmh and it thrashes into second. Other times, coasting into a corner at low speed(again normally) then accelerating out of the turn(normally),it won't downshift(appears to be locking in top),until you back off the thottle, and it comes good again. Happens intermittently(sp?),but is becoming more frequent. Nearly 180k on it. I guess a tranny issue, but what's the cause? It's a good daily driver. Cheers in advance. Chris.....

Cool. So as I've noticed most guys here quote their personal power figures at the rear wheels, how do the changes with the CAPA box translate to this? How hard can the 4speed slushy be smashed? Sorry for the dope questions-I'm an electrician not a grease monkey... Chris......

Cheers for the replies. So the stage KW ratings for the CAPA box-do they reference to engine KW? Like will Stage 1 or 2 help destroy my 4sp slushy? Chris.....

Thanks for the welcome and reply What's a fix-I'd be interested in how to go futher maybe........ Chris.....

Hello Everyone, New member here after a bit of browsing. Looks like a great forum. I have an 03 BA Turbo. It was originally a lease pack car I had from my old gig.A mate of mine bought it from C*stom Fl**t when the lease expired last year, but he lost his license and aside from missing the best car I ever owned,I had to have it back! A question if OK. I can't remember details exactly, but at one point when Ford serviced the car(normal servicing deal being a lease pack),they claim that they made an EPROM change that altered the operation of the "blow off valve".Ford's reasoning was that XR6T drivers were complaing about the blow-off valve letting go during overtaking, the car loosing speed in the wrong lane....never happened to me when overtaking coal trucks...... Consequently, the car lost a noticable amount of mojo-especially low down. When I hit em up for the drop in performance, they told me it was a "factory recall of sorts",they wouldn't reverse the changes because it was a lease vehicle(ie not mine),and any private owners who wouldn't accept the "upgrade" or wanted it reversed would be risking warranty.A bunch of workmates who leased XRT's as well copped the same BS and the same sluggishness. Can anyone confirm this crap for me,and what can I do to put balls back into it again? Cheers in advance Chris........
