What about using the non-Ford mechanics for servicing? They claim that the factory warranty is unaffected if you should choose not to service your car at Ford? I think there is a consumer regulation or something that prevents Ford from voiding warranty for you not servicing your car with them. Surely these 3rd party mechanics would not have the "Ford updates"... so when you do return to Ford for a warranty issue, flash in the original tune... which is fine because Ford have not had the car to update it from the original?
