  1. Did the exact same thing, turned out of a T junction, gave her some stick. Noticed the set of lights had a camera and jumped the brake at high revs. Lets just say a possible 350$ fine turned into a 4.8k engine recondition.
  2. I tried, but to be honest if you get a custom tune for around 1500-1600 (which includes the sct) its still cheaper than buying the box and getting the tune seperate. (Around 1k) so it would work out to around 1700 which means youre not saving anything.
  3. What after market turbo oil line is recommended?
  4. Be very careful mate.. theres a fine line between a nice tough note and a terrible drone with these cars. I took the centre muffler out then got an upgraded cat/dump.. ended up having to buy an aftermarket catback to fix up the noise between 2-4000 rpm and 80-100ks..
  5. Thanks guys. Ill sort the bushes and tailshaft out asap. Boganspeed how worthwhile was the transtune?
  6. You wouldn't like Simon @ XFT's prices then aha.. I got an exchange rear housing from Rapidsystems for 350$ (Ported/larger flapper), had to pay an extra 150$ deposit for his housing, but I'll get it back once I send mine.
  7. Sorry guys I meant Tailshaft not driveshaft (unless that's a problem area to?) What's more important to do first, obviously I can't do them all at once as I'm on a budget. I'm going with Monstatorque, dealt with Simon previously. Great tuner just awfully pricey compared to Rob.
  8. Hey guys. With my mods going on later this month I'm really excited to test my car down the 1/4 when the Perth Motorplex opens back up later this year, the car will be running (hopefully) near the 400kw mark on 98 and whatever Im able to achieve on E85. Question is what can I do to make my time down the strip a somewhat safe one? After my BF having suffered alot of the notorious issue's common with these cars I don't want to take my chances twisting something. I've narrowed it down to: Trans tune Flex plate input shaft driveshaft Bushes (diff/control arms) I'll be running NT05's if that makes a difference. Is there anything else you seasoned guys recommend? Cheers. Question guy.
  9. Id get them all replaced while the car is up. Going to have to get mine done as well, shortly.
  10. A brand new rear housing ported with a bigger flapper was an extra 1100 from memory ontop of the 1600$ for the gtx so I opted just to get my standard housing modified for 350$. But if you have the budget get the entire turbo mate. The gt3582 with all supporting mods is capable of 380-400 on 98. Multiple fg f6's have reached this.
  11. Joe at CMS does the GTX 3582r front housing for around 1650$ delivered to your door. you'll need your rear housing ported and a bigger flapper added. He also does exchanges for your stock one + 350$ for an upgraded housing. + 12psi actuator, around 180-200$? Probably cost around 200$ for the tuner to swap the smaller turbo setup for the bigger one. 4' xforce turboback cost me 1620$ + 300-400$ to install 1000cc injectors are around 600-700$ + 100-150$ to install Surge tank with a pump is around 1k brand new. + 200-300$ to install Tune is around 1500-1700 including the box from most reputable tuners. Valve springs are 250-300$, + 500$ to install (if you know what you're doing you can save alot of money fitting them yourself.)
  12. I would, but I like risks and complain when they don't turn in my favor. Seriously though, Im driving to my tuners with every mod installed except for surge tank and injectors... that includes a gtx with 12psi actuator and ported wastegate.. and a 4 inch turboback exhaust.. let's just say a few horns will be heard at the pace I plan on driving..
  13. Well she's all booked in for the 26th of August. Pretty excited to have all the gear in it running some serious power! The bro also has his car booked in with similar mods so should he interesting to see how both cars go It'll be handy too so I don't have to hide all these bits and pieces from the missus!
  14. Yeah mate, I'm gonna end up going down the E85 track so I want to be prepared and not have to end up buying one later.
  15. Is anyone interested in buying a 800hp 300lph walbro pump with cradle for drop in plug/play install? Brand new/unused, cost me 299$ willing to part for 250$
