  5. its silver in colour thinking these wheels might look allright on it http://www.tempetyres.com.au/products_clos...mp;part_no=1164 we shall see once tax return rolls in
  6. ok, well as of 5pm yesterday (monday I am the owner or a 2003 BA Falcon XT semi-auto. it had 42 000kms when I picked it up, and ive added another 100 tonight cruising around darwin with a few mates, getting a feel for it. after a few "spirited driving" exercises, both me and the other that were with me were impressed by its acceleration, and how well it seems to maintain economy even when pushing it, this is compared to my former VR commodore.\ one issue I did notice a few times under hard braking was a slight shudder, so it seems the fluid bushing may have failed. I will leave this a week or so to see if it gets worse, then it will be back to the dealer to be repaired under the 3 months warranty they give on all cars sold. all in all I am happy with the purchase, and for its age its still a very neat car, as to be expected with only 42 000kms. anyway now for some 19" wheels and some subs in the boot cheers.
  7. ok I have agreed to buy the XT after another drive of it and more looking around. on thing though is I cannot pick up the car until the rear seat is repaired as it has separated along the seam between the left side rear seat and the middle part of the rear on the bottom (ass side ) is this a common occurrence? I have seen this on 3 other BA falcons I have looked at. its getting repaired at the car dealer's expense, but just wondering how prone it is to happening again.
  8. haha yes I cant say I like them too much myself, except in ute form where they go look alright. the low kilometers is an important thing, as theres not just wanting a newer car as reason from moving away from my current :censored:commodore:censored: that has a few kays on it. going back to look at both the futura and the xt again tomorrow and make a decision.
  9. no both have std basic sound and ICC. on these replies it looks like the xt is going to be the winner because of the low kays. now just have to wait until the middle of the week to get back from camping to go buy it.
  10. unfortunately as a student that isnt feasible. by the same token if I really want an xr6t, which I do, I only have to wait until the end of next year when I will be working full time.
  11. MoreHPformyXR6 im pretty sure they are both straight BA MkIs even though the Futura was first registered in 2005 I am tempted to go with the xt, because although the futura has alloys, I will change them anyway, so other than that I cant recall much difference
  12. Hi looking at buying a N/A ford falcon, cant afford an XR6 though. options that I like seem to be either a 2004 BA Falcon XT with 41000kms or a 2005 BA Futura with 62000kms as they are both the same price. have driven a futura but not an xt. is there much difference? doesn't seem to be a great deal from what I saw when checking them out today, so considering going for the lower kays xt. any thoughts guys? cheers, Andy.
