  1. This will be Fordmods.com's third Drag day at Heathcote, we had two there last year. After those two differant drag days I recon I'v got about 45 time slips lying around somewhere!!! And that was with about 30 - 40 cars there. Everyone seems to race at the start of the night, but after around 6:30 you can race come back and with in a couple minute your racing again!! It would be good to see some more fast cars there Cheers Stefan Heres some more details... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What's that... there's something in the air... Is it a toaster oven? Is it a mongolian bog rat? No it's BURNT RUBBER!! Yeh baby, once again the track calls and the challenge is issued - who will be the fastest Victorian Fordmodder? It could be YOU !! ( Well it sure as sh*t ain't Southy! ) We will be racing through the Twilight Session which runs from 4:30pm to 9pm on Saturday 21st April 2007 at Heathcote Raceway. As per usual, we have three racing classes: N/A I6 N/A V8 Blown / Forced Induction / NOS Now then, there will be trophies up for grabs and to be eligible for them you must be a registered Fordmods member and you must be driving a Ford on the night. For racer's the fee is $40 to be paid upon entry to the Raceway. For spectators, the fee is $10. Personal Drag Requirements To spectate, you need only bring yourself and maybe something warm to wear To race you will need the following: - Long Pants / Trousers - Long Sleeve Top or Jacket - Enclosed Shoes (No Thongs, sandals, etc) - Helmet (There are a couple available for loan at the track, but your own would be preferred) So basically, when in the drivers seat, the only parts of your body that should not be clothed/covered is your face and hands. Vehicle Drag Requirements All cars using the strip must be in a roadworthy, reliable and clean condition. The car must not be dripping oil or water all over the place (A quick pressure wash of the engine bay and underside would be an advantage). The car must be externally clean. Please don't turn up with the car covered in mud or the wheel arches filled with mud, as you will be asked to clean it by track officials. Any loose objects in the interior must be left outside the car, or put into the boot. Any heavy loose objects in the boot must be tied or bolted down, or removed for for racing. Heathcote also requires a bottle to catch any coolant overflow. This can be as simple as putting the coolant overflow hose into a 600ml soft drink bottle. So don't forget to buy a 600ml drink on the way. All of these rules may seem a little harsh or difficult, but they are there for your safety. And dont forget, almost as important as these rules, make sure you have plenty of fuel for the night (ie trip up, draging and trip back). Meet Points Eastern Side - Will be at our now traditional Ricketts Road Office Complex car park. Meet time is 12:30pm for a 12:45pm sharp departure time. Vic and Mark will meet everyone there and guide you in a northerly direction to the Ford HQ Office Building in Campbellfield Western Side - Will be at the Ring Road North Bound Mobil/McDonalds complex. Meet time is 12:30pm for a 12:45pm sharp departure time. Brett will meet everyone there (at the end of the carpark, closest to the Macca's playground where Southy will be hogtied to the kids swing set ) before departing north up the Ring Road and Sydney Road to the Ford HQ Office Building in Campbellfield Northern / Departure Point - Will be in front of the Ford HQ Office Building at 1:30pm for a 1:45pm departure time. From there we will travel north, up the Hume Highway, before veering off onto the Northern Highway at the Wallan exit, heading to Heathcote Raceway via Kilmore and Tooborac. We estimate arrival time at Heathcote Raceway at about 3:30pm. General Information - Once the groups have departed the meet points, they will not be stopping. Please make sure you have plenty of fuel, food and drink before the meet points departure time. Should you need to stop for fuel, etc, you will need to play catchup when you get going again - Heathcote raceway is approximately 17km further towards Bendigo from Heathcote. After you pass through a town called Knowsley, a sign on the left side of the road indicates a right turn about 300m from the sign onto a dirt road. Once on this road, the entrance to the track is about 2km on your right. - Open Service Stations are almost non existant on the trip home after the event. Make sure you have plenty of fuel to at least make Kilmore or Wallan for a fuel stop - Heathcote Raceway has a canteen that provides drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and food (hot and cold) should you be feeling peckish - Bring warm clothes, as it can be cold at the track during the evening. Great weather for cars, not to wonderful for the drivers and spectators - Bring plenty of cash as there are no card facilities at the Raceway - Please drive sensibly on the meet points on the trip up and back. Stupid and irresponsible driving will not be tolerated and may even mean you are disculded from this and future events. We pass many a police station on the trip up and back, and 30 or 40 cars in a row would be wonderful chain of cop bait and attention that we do not need! - If you have a CB bring it along, Ch 24 is normally reserved for exclusive Fordmods banter. Dont miss out on the chat during the travels - And most importantly, above all, Have Fun!!! Saturday 21st April has been booked. Sign up now and get your name on the list When you are adding your name to the list for dragging, please indicate what class (NA6, NA8 or F) you will be running in. If there is anythnig else, please contact any of the Cruise Mods! UPDATE Our sponsors for the event are Billet Products, Wade Camshafts and FTG Salvage. In addition, a $350 voucher from Billet Products will be raffled off on the night! Cheers, Brett, Mark & Vic.
