  1. Well, Thank goodness, Kevie has found the solution and is going to save the planet for us. It's an elegant piece of legislation and slots in perfectly with his welfare, health care and workplace reform policies! Only a Labor government would have had the foresight to solve these problems in such a way; Make the people who are earning above-average pay for it. How do I become a "Working family?" I don't want to work extra hours, pay more and more tax, pay for my healthcare or get slugged by Carbon credit induced inflation... I want to join this countries new elite class too!

    Solar Power

The into grid system is an OK idea, unfortunately the buy rate for power is way too low, the advantage of this system is that you use the grid as your battery, when you generate more than you use, you get paid for the power, at night, you draw back from the grid. The real benefits of getting a large proportion of the country going solar shouldn't be measured in "green house emissions" saved per installation, with a 60% uptake we can get a decentralized power generation grid going and avoid the need to build new power stations. there are no know heath risks from photovoltaic cells, (except electrocution and fire risk from inept installation ) any emf they produce would be far less than what your exposed to using a blender or a computer... I thought about installing a system also, in the wet season here power outages are common, but expense wize, I'm better off getting a $5000 gen set, as the into grid system shuts down in a blackout anyways to stop islanding... Solar hot water systems are great and really do have the potential to save you money in under 7 years, look at one of these first, though it's probably only worth installing is your std water heater dies....
  3. having a perve on someone who isn't a pig and running up the towbar of the car in front..... Happily no damage and the one in the car I hit was even better looking.
  4. his name isn't Aiden is it?
  5. Yea, it's TECHNICALLY possible, but very far from practical, I use GPS's for work, you can loose reception in heavy clouds, under trees, through tunnels ect ect... so do you legislate old cars off the road? how to you electrically shut fuel flow off a holly with mechanical pump you can't. scaremongering.
  6. yeah met Brad walking around in the maternity ward, we had a baby swap and compared notes. Much the same as we did with our cars! Missus is a tree hugger, I'm not, wait and see methinks... all I can say about child birth is F#$K THAT!
  7. I would like to announce the birth of my first. Maxx was born at 11:51am saturday, weighing in at 4.1 kg and 54cm. at 54cms, he's 1cm under legal for a barra. He's a big boofer and happy as larry, we're all home now washing nappies madly. thankfully SWMBO has a subi outback, thus saving the EVO the indignity of a baby capsule.
  8. Got VERY close to stuffing my fist in the face of one bloke there and that's saying something, haven't done anything like that for 15 years...Bet it would have wiped that stupid grin off his face though. I'm sure all most all of my problems with the T were service related and no fault of the car itself, the service manager would go white in the face when he saw me comming in. need shoot'n, the lot of 'em. Fair point about tuning, I managed to rig up an injection system on a L-28 bitsa nissan (xf throttle body, VL fuel pump ect ect) and had it running quite well, but hey, lean a turbo off abit much by mistake and it can result in an expensive loud noise.
  9. I moved from my T into the EVO IX. At the risk of people getting all shirty with me, here's what I think, having owned and driven both as daily drivers and on the track. Firstly: people will tell you there's no room in the EVO because it's a small car, well at 6'4 I can guarantee that they're wrong. there's more than enough headroom in my IX and the VIII you're looking at is pretty much the same car. The good: The car handles like nothing else I've ever driven. you brake VERY late and keep breaking into the corner, it keeps the weight forward and helps it turn in. The car is so very forgiving to hamfistedness or bad driving that even a mong like me can lap hidden valley in 1'27 (the car is capable of more....I'm not...yet) It's so much more stable than the T at speed it's not funny, my old BA used to wander a bit at ~200, the Evo's still solid on the road at 260. and I'm talking NT open limits where I used to sit on these speeds, not a dirty dart up there for 10 seconds.... I have not been gentle with the EVO, but not one thing has broken in 25,000k's of HARD driving, don't dump it at the lights too often and it's all good. browse my early posts to read about all the drama's with my T...nuff said. I've got the suspension pack on mine Blistiens and BBS wheels, apart from a bit of road-noise, it's not a bother at all for daily driving. Sorry guys but it's a proper road-registered race car compared to a hotted up family car. Performance-wise no contest. Yes a modded T will kill a std evo of the line but now were talking bank-balance racing...... You'd have to spend a packet on a T to keep up with an EVO round the track though. As for modding, well I've got a 10 year drivetrain factory warranty...No problem, phoned my friendly dealer and he got ralliart to re-program my ecu and fitted a bigger fuel pump. I'll be getting an exhaust next...this should see 250kw. warranty? yes sir still covered for 10 years. there's a multitude of mods available at a reasonable price. You can download an editor (for free) and get a cable, plug your laptop in and do it yourself if you want (not recommended for the uninitiated) check out EVOLUTIONOZ the auzzie forum for evo's oh, resale value is great, my T cost me 55, sold it for 27 3 years later. My EVO cot me 64, could sell it for 50 tomorrow. The Bad. The T was a fabulous cruiser, very comfortable and the torque from the very start you get in a T is pure horn. Yep interior appointments are basic in the EVO, Ya get climate control air, power windows and mirrors and that's about it... Don't think you'll use less fuel, you wont, and it's 98 only...a pain out here, I carry a couple of jerry cans. when you do donuts you destroy 4 tires instead of 2 and...well not many more I can think of. Would I buy again? Absofunkinglutely different car the T and the EVO, both excellent at what they are and what they do, was a vcery close thing for me, I nearly got a phoon, but the ford salesman did such a piss-poor job here I went to Mitzi and got the EVO... If I were you, I give the EVO a go, plenty of cheap modded T's out there. if you don't like it.
  10. guilty... Beats constructing F'n MS Graphs of drill and mine performance KPI's and attending pointless meeting to get pineapples for things I'm not resposible for. Miss the old days when I used to go out pig-shooting during work hours.
  11. Ah yes... What is art? need it have to have a meaning or a message to the public? I'm no artist and not qualified to comment on what is or isn't art, those who are however have mostly come out in defence of the pictures. Art can certainly challenge our preconcived ideas and social norms, if this was his intention (and I'm not saying it was) then he's been a runaway success. In an odd way, the fact that it has raised so much discussion, validates what he's done.
  12. whats so inappropriate about the naked human body if sex isn't involved? it's OK to show babies but not 13 year olds? at what age does the human body become offensive, and when does it stop? From 11 to 18? Maybe we can give our kids a special party when they turn 11 as they are now considered "offensive when nude" perhaps we should dress ALL our women in ankle length loose body concealing clothes to make sure we don't get any rapists going... we can even put hood over thier heads and give em little eye holes to peep out....Oh Hang-on...in some contries they do. The mere discussion of this girl's image as being inappropriate is sexualizing her. Personally, I find it bizzare that our 13 year olds see RAMBO gun down a good 100 or so human beings while a naked girl is considered offensive. Like, that's just sick.
  13. It's only natural that a 13 year old girl covers up and is ashamed of her body eh? Most are, our advetising media have made sure of that. I really worry about people who think those pictures are "sexual" If you look at those photos and see "sex"...well, think about it. What if she was pug-ugly? Would it be offensive then? Anyways, food for thought...I'd be surprized if he didn't realize that he was walking a dam thin line with the public in putting those photos up.
  14. Give the man a medal I say.
  15. Had a 240K at Uni with which I'd been fiddling...EFI L28 + Haltech and a plethora of other bits....anyways there was this South African w@nker who, having never seen me drive or my car told me he was absolutely certain he could beat me on the dirt in his unmodded HQ station wagon.... I never bothered proving him wrong, it was his absolute certainty, knowing nothing about me or my car that left me speachless. I still don't take much to South Africans.....
  16. EVO's are good....
  17. Two Brothers in Kalgoorlie that run a drilling company; Rob Money and Nick Money. A snarly path lab manageress called Gaye Priest A geophysics lecturer called Richard Face a OHS bint with a humungous arse called Sandra Large. an old German called Ute Ford . A mate called steven who was dating a bird called cidy Mountstephen. A stockmarket anyalyst called Jesse James Some random guy at the bowlling alley with a last name of Vanker A paranoid / obsesive-compulsive bloke I worked with called Alec Ross who put "AR" on his coffee cup, we put an SE after it. for weeks he'd clean it off and re-write AR and we kept changing it. One day we came in and he'd put AL instead..so we put an AN in front.
  18. Any takers? spots filling fast, I even got my company to put us some $$
  19. I think so, The cops made 'em fit cages cause they got sick of having to look for all the body parts in the bush after a rollover. The cage keeps most of the mess in the one spot, much easier to deal with.
  20. Not me... Any Idiot Knows that the five year old should be firmly buckled in NEXT TO the beer in the back, How could he possibly pass the beer forwards from the floor?
  21. OOH you are cruel... But I like it!
  22. IF the GST was bought in as it was originally planned, 10% on EVERYTHING then we would not be paying 40% on fuel, the PAYG Tax would be gone, and there'd be NO WAY to evade taxation as EVERYTHING would have been taxed at point of sale. Instead the F'n Labor nancies whined about tax on food. The Democraps whined about tax on Tampons.... In the end the GST that got through was a hatchet job and now we're left with this abortion of a tax system. If GST was introduced as originally intended we'd ALL be better off! "Becoming more and more like communism" No Trent, it IS F'n communisim.
  23. I'm going to go get a spot-on tax accountant and minimize every cent to these cretins, I don't object to paying a fair tax rate but this is getting beyond a joke. as Packer once said when questioned: "Of course I'm minimizing my taxes! And the way you b@stards waste the money, I'd encourage every Australian to do the same thing."
  24. Quoted from the Tax everything post: Every time these Fuktards come up with a new "problem" they use it as an excuse to slip in more legislation and slip in more taxes, just you watch; Global warming..? lets raise the taxes on electricity, petrol, cars, appliances...ect to discourage thier use, wow aren't we socially responsible! (meanwhile the profits from these taxes gut pumped straight back to the unions to repay them for getting labor in, like wow, and that's not going to cause inflation??) Well hello! Can't wait to see the "Luxury homes tax" for any house that's worth over $350,000.. Let's introduce capital gains taxes on your primary residence, then you won't be able to buy an investment property, this should leave more houses available for the battlers to buy! This F'ing communism under a different name.
  25. Mack ole mate, you've made the grade, done for speeding, while plying your trade to avoid the missus dirty stare, stay at home upon your chair.. But if outside must you roam, please consider, as you depart your home don't take the car and forget the bike. nobody's ever been done when they hike.
