  1. Cheers! I'll look at the rack tonight. I had an XB and I know what you mean. At leats there isn't that little sqeak, squeak squeak.... the early falc's all had...
  2. as the car goes over bumps in the road or speed humps ect I get a reallloud clunk from the front right. :( I seems to happen when load is applied / removed from the suspension. Can't see anything loose down there, sounds like a shock absorbers come free, but the car still feels OK. Any ideas? (It's going to the dealer anyway, but just wondering is anyone has had a similar problem)

    Xr6t Speed Limiter

I'll bet you don't have the premium brakes?
  4. Haven't "Had a go" from the lights, at least not with anything worth mentioning. Only been passed once on the hwy (NT) and that was by a CBR 1000. 3 phantom XR6 T's passed a new ss (I think?) at +180 comming back from the Katherine cruise, he was doing ~160.

    Xr6t Speed Limiter

I've run mine up to 230 a few times, I checked the speed limiter with a GPS. It's at 230 on the dot (and my speedo was pretty much spot on at this speed also.) Only time I really wished the speed limiter wasn't there was when I was driving with a CBR 1000 motorbike......230 is pretty fast, I like to sit on 180, the car feels so much nicer at that speed. Oh yeah, NT TURBO, if anyone could wring an extra 10 Kph past the limiter, it I'd be you. (great driving with you!)
  6. Had one (I think) tear past as I was waiting at a crossroad. Could not tell as by the time I saw him he was already flying past, may have been an XR8 but didn't sound like one....whatever it was, he didn't have a speed limiter!
  7. Sorry bit of a side track back on topic, but, I agree with Cflats sentiments. The only use for the lights I've had so far is collecting big bast@rd cracks and stone chips. Pull em out, get some ducting and rout some cold air onto your brake rotors and if you are out on one of the foggy days, drive slower......
  8. Mercury and silver? Isn't that amalgum the stuff dentists make fillings of? let's just call it the "drill and fill" sounds appropriate.

    Vibrations

Yep, I've got that vibration too, it's only slight but annoying none the less....
  10. I'm sure the XF has a fuel filter...Sounds like your timing is advanced and the carb could use a clean (blocked jets?) Unfortunaetly the early falcons really suffer with the CR@P fuel they sell us these days. that 9:1 compression with a less than ideal head can cause pinging.. Also, have a look atthe colour of your plugs, se ith they have a white residue instead of a tan one, this may indicate it's running lean. So many things to try...whish I was there to help!
  11. Yeah trumpy, that's what I meant, you put it far more eloquently In hangliding we're also taught not to look ath the ground (or trees, powerlines ect) as you tend to hit what your looking at.
  12. OK falchoon I'll bite, Why are you selling them? how much do you want?
  13. Only one thing to add, if I'm going for a Fast drive on the HWY here I don't just zoom up to top speed, rather I let the speed creep up to a point I'm comfortable with. Gradually ease the speed up and try to stay in your comfort zone (well near it at least...) Also: look way out ahead, the faster you're going the further away are the things that can get you in trouble......
  14. OK Esky, What did they do? bars and springs? different ride height? how much did it cost? (if that's not a rude question) I always liked whiteline and have used thier products on my other cars so im interested.....
  15. for sure! Iv'e lost heaps of weight too, as the repayments come out of my account, I have less and less money for drinking, eating, ect.... gave up smokeing Can't do that in the T !! and the pack a day habit now keeps the tank full. Not to mention the Perma-grin I get when I drive it!
  16. My manual xr6 EFII used to go off the speedo at 220, but I don't think it was going much over 225. I didnt feel any speed limiter though, it just ran out of go.
  17. Most enduring hobby, Cars, specifically, jaguars: Restoring a 1957 mk1 jaguar (its a chequebook job at the moment) $30,000 and haven't drivent it yet..... Hangliding, competing in the WA state comps and flying in the "dustdevils" HG club (not much of that in tne NT) Best flight 2.5 hours in the air and 50Kms cross country. B) Worst flight 9 mins in the air and bent the glider and broke my helmet.... Shooting, I like the challenge of shooting, so I got a specialist air rifle, damn accurate and great fun. Best shot? hit a matchbox at 50mtrs... Drinking. I will drink anything (except fosters...well OK I'D drink it if there was nothing else left ) Single malt scotch, Glenmorangie Oban and Lagavoulin. Red wine and beer.
  18. Hey NT Turbo! I wonder what the T can do if the speed limiter was removed?
  19. I did 230 and it cut out, and I verified the speed with a GPS. Its a fairly softcut, the engine just stops making power, then comes back on when you drop below 230. Oh yeah, the other frustrating thing is that the damn cruise control won't go on if you're doing over 200 so I sit at anywhere from 120 to 180 on the highway depending on conditions and location. Even up here without the speed limits, I very rarely do 230, it's just a bit too fast to relax and the fuel consuption gets to around 42 l / 100 at that speed!
  20. Why buy the magazine and then take photos of the photos in it Or does he (I assume it is he) take the photos while still in the newsagents Maybe he want something after the magazines get stuck together.

    Whale Farts?

Why is it I can always pick the posts Ken 'll have been into...... And what's worse, what does that say about me
  23. It had been 2weeks since I'd driven the T so I went for a blat: Driving back from Katherine last weekend, I was passed by a CBR 1000 bike, I was sitting on 140 or so and sped up to try and keep with him. He was really mooving, I couldn't catch him, but he couldn't loose me either. I'll long remember the double take the guy did after he glanced into his mirror and I was still there! We both pulled into the servo at pine creek and he wanted to have a look at the car, in 10 mins time I had five people around looking and asking questions! I remeber a thread a while ago about which is the best place to own a XR6 Turbo, I gotta vote for up North where you can enjoy the car to it's fullest and stay legal! Ah yes! what fun it is to own a XR6 Turbo!
  24. I couldn't see if it was the turbo and missed most of the show as I was talking to the missus on the phone.......
  25. Much as I loved getting the T, it'd have to be the first day I flew solo in a plane.
