  6. Trust me - it is an open diff not a LSD - check the part number on the Ford database and you will see. A new open diff will act like a LSD but over time will loosen up and will start favouring one wheel. I have done 13000Ks in my G6ET in 4 months and the open diff is still spinning both wheels.
  7. Hey timbos99 - great work with the LEDs - looks great. I have a question regarding the interior center and front ceiling lights - are the LED replacement globes dimable and how did you get access to the globes? I am also looking at LED side indicator globes on the wing mirrors as well but unsure how to get access to them as well - if someone could advise how it would be much appriciated. Thanks.
  8. Got a price for a low Ks BF MkII LSD for approx $800 plus installation. Both FG and BF MkII LSDs look identical but they do have different part numbers. I have been informed that they are the same, just different part numbers to reflect the different models - dunno but this still has to be confirmed. I am not willing to stuff around with mine just yet as it is only 7 months old and still experiencing some first model glitches.
  9. Definately not LSD if from the factory, it will be a open diff. To my knowledge the only G6E Turbo getting around with a LSD in it is the Harrod G6ET from Melbourne, which they installed themselves along with a Harrod exhaust system. I am looking at installing one later down the track when I improve the RWKW but until then, I do not think it would be neccessary as the current open diff will be fine for most people who drive these cars. My G6ET definately does not go sideways when planting it in a straight line, with TC on or off, and with my top tune, so I don't know why yours would be.
  10. 1. Got rear DVD headrests from China - approx AUS$500 delivered and installed them myself. I also installed a power on/off switch on the steering column to turn them on/off. 2. There is hardly any suction noise but the BOV is a lot louder and so is the exhaust with a deeper sound. 3. Have only looked at them so far - when I get back from my country trip next week I will take some photos on how to replace them and post here as I will install my piano black painted ones.
  11. Here is a pic of the boot white LED install - gives much more light and is hidden as well as the strips are only about 2mm thick, 30cm long (one each side) and flexible.
  12. Both wheels spin with TC on and off with the top tune. With the TC off it will leave two definate black marks, but of course this only happens when the turbo kicks in, but the twin black marks are not as definate with the TC turned on. 1. The ASL mod allows you to add a video device only (seperate DVD player/Ipod/Divx HDD etc.) - the internal CD player is not modified in any way (and cannot be). 2. I have had 3 dynos done since the growler was added - all showing different results from 302 to 312rwkw on different dynos. I am going to get the tune re-done shortly and have it done again shortly - will post the results here. 3. Fog light surrounds are held on with 4 clips and one screw, which is really hard to get to.
  13. I have never had the TC shut off by itself and I have driven in some extreme conditions in the last month alone (flash floods in Broken Hill etc..). The only thing that did shut down by itself was my ICC unit which was replaced a couple of weeks ago. As for the diff, if you thrash it, the diff will stop operating correctly or as it should over time. Eventually only one wheel will spin which will mean a diff rebuild or replacement. As for smoking it up from a standing start with my top tune, yes I can with the TC off or on, more so with it off. I am not in the practice of doing this as 19 Inch tyres cost a bit too much to replace and if you get caught, you may have the first G6E Turbo that gets impounded under the hoon laws by the police (here in SA anyway!).
  14. The dash does light up blue but I was used to a FPV dash before. No one has ever picked up that it is blue at night. Some controls on the ICC unit light up red and blue as well, plus the blue seems to be easy on my eyes compared to the white as I do a lot of country driving at night. As for the tune, the TC still works fine with the current setup. I will look at a LSD down the track though when I look at boosting the power up further (aim is 350rwkw), but for the time being the open center diff works fine with the current power, as long as it is not thrashed!
  15. Here they are painted piano black - been doing some serious country driving so I have not put them on yet. They were professionally done. Growler kit from Ebay for around $500. Fuel economy: gained approx 100K's out of a tank and a definate growl when planting the foot - highly would recommend this addition to any FG Turbo. Took about a week for the computer to adjust to the high flow intake, and gave me over 300+ RWKW with just my tune as well. Front video switch turns the ASL RGB box on / off the front LCD screen only (between video and Ford system). I used the other side of the start button panel to mount the switch. I then used an Ipod video adaptor to plug my Ipod Classic into it to play what ever I like, using the AUX for the audio. My reverse camera had to be disconnected for the time being as ASL are waiting for parts to make a bypass adaptor cable for the G6E Turbo vehicles as the ASL RGB box uses the same bank of pins and connector that the reverse camera uses, and I was not going to hack into my reverse camera harness to run both. I have also split the video signal just before the ASL RGB box and run a another video feed to the rear headrest monitors as well.
