  1. thanks I appreciate your help. he told me he is going to do a complete tranny rebuild. will cost me $2500. I just hope it holds up
  2. well why the heck would someone do mods to car if the tranny wont hold up. am I to expect because I create substantial power increase that I don't need to be told that my tranny wont hold up. I think tuners need to tell people about the possible problems before they go ahead. I brought this up with my tuner and he said it might hold up and it might die. a clearer response would have helped. would a surgeon do a heart transplant with a person who has lung cancer. I don't think so. are tuners able to tell before these mods are done whether the tranny will hold up. It cant be just a guessing game. any way fords xr6t and the FPV models are terrific in their natural form. I think when you start playing with them, things go horribly wrong!
  3. well the person who tuned my car did fiddle with my tranny to make it shift harder. so what can I do know. make him pay for it.
  4. well I didnt expect the tranny to last only one week after these mods.
  5. no it only put out arounf 180 rwkw and it was a manual.
  6. I have ba 03 xr6t with 68,000 km. my car makes 290rwkw and my tranny just sh*t itself. no 3rd or 4th gear. I even had a tranny cooler on it. oh well. there should be a topic to warn people once you start modifying these cars expecting everything to fail. I have cai,injectors,valve springs, fuel pump and its flash tuned. Since those mods my cat died, so I chaged the whole exhaust, with an extreme force exhaust 2.5 dual. now my tranny has died. I dont have any money to fix it but the people I deal with are fixing it and I can pay them later. I have to say I am little sour on fords at the moment. its the first time I have bought an aussie car. I use to have nissan 200sx and I have to say I only had minor problems with it. but I am not giving up.

  9. I have an ba 03xr6t auto making 290rwkw. I wanted to know is it a good idea to change the stock intercooler to a typhoon intercooler. is there much difference. reason I ask is can get one for $400 fitted.
  10. I use to have a 200sx and the norm for all the people was to have was a turbo timer. Now I was wondering is it necessary to have one with the T's. has anyone fitted them to their vehicle.
  11. I just got my T done today and I have to say that Bob is the nicest and the most friendliest person I have dealt with in my life.   14. by the way how much should it cost for option a with the wog cooler. the tuner uses cobra valve springs, nizpro injectors , not sure about the fuel pump though.
  15. the people I use to do my mods are a site sponsor and so far they have been great. what I am looking for is close to 300kw at the wheels.

  17. Hi I have a 03 auto BA XR6t which has done 65,000 kms. So far I have had the car custom tuned(capa), cai, and k&n filter done. So far I have got 245kw at wheels. for my next mod I need to know which is more important as I have limited budget. do a: injectors, valve springs and fuel pump or b:full exhaust with 4"dump pipe and high flow cat. I wish I could do all of this but I cant. also would a wog cooler be ok to do with out these mods. thanks
  18. yeah well I am not doing anything else to the car except changing the suspension. I know if I change one more thing I will need to change 4 others which I dont have the money to do.

  21. the car is running at 12.5 air fuel ratio. he is assured me the car is running perfectly.
  22. when you say to lean what does that mean exactly. as you can tell I am not mechanically minded either. Also these recommendations you suggest would be applicable even if dont drive it hard.
  23. its an xr6t and is rear wheel kws. sorry when a meant a tune house I didnt mean the actual place Tune House. I didnt realise there was a place called Tune House. The car was tuned at BTA Motorsports at campsie. Yeah I can post the print out tonight. The torgue curve is not that great as he said I would need to change the exhaust, as the standard exhaust is too restrictive.
  24. well thanks to everyone who has replied. I just want you to know I dont drive my car hard at all. I just like to have the power on tap when needed. I am 36 years old and drive conservatively(compared to you guys I am sure) most of the time so hopefully my transmission and motor wont be affected to much.
