Hopefully gav gets that video up today of yours from the dyno comp reece

Cheers, I suspected as much, Ive seen metal to metal seals before, for example in earthmoving equipment called duo-cone seals, they seal and separate usually the hubs/final drives from the brake hubs. But the quality of the finish on them is quite high, nealy a mirror finish.
-
It depends on how much work went into the the finish of the flapper and housing, Judging by what Ive seen so far they would hardly seal airtight, for the metal-metal surfaces to seal they would have to be highly polished.
-
All the options given so far are correct and could be the cause, what is the workshop doing to eliminate possible causes, I would be goin through step by step, a couple of theings can be done first like, let the car warm up just at idle, see if the problem occurs, then whilst driving. Then goin to the extent of blocking off the plumbing for the turbo and then the oil cooler if they dont have the facilities to pressure test each component individually. Good luck mate, hope they sort it

Where are situated bud, If your close by I can give you a hand to get it sorted

Yeah Im keen for a cruise after, that would be sweet as.

Also need 12lb actuator and 38mm flapper. Anyone else keen?

Surging & Stalling After Fitting Surge Tank And 044
45T-XR replied to HI PSI's topic in Fuel System & Induction Workshop
Your on the right track with your fuel pressure reg being the problem, but it wont be faulty as such, Id say its the fact that you have your high hp intank pump and the 044 in the surge tank, this would have increased your fuel pressure in the rail, the fuel pressure reg port that returns to the tank is still the same size orifice as standard and when the injectors are at low duty cycle and only open for a short time the fuel pressure is excessive and your car is over fueling as the regulator cant release the pressure in the rail to give you give you good driveability at idle etc, you could take it to your tuner and see if they can scale the injector duty cycle down at low engine rpm, or just put your standar pump back in the tank, Im sure using that to supply the surge tank and 044 will be sufficient for your application. But like you said in regards to getting a fuel pressure guage you could check you idle fuel pressure in regards to standard and this would either confirm or dismiss my opinion. -
I know right!, sounds like it could suck a toyota through a school fence. plus its awesome to come up beside a skyline when they set the blow off valve off in your ear, then you boot the Xr and they sh*t themselves haha
do the process west surge tank come with wiring loom ? if so im keen
Pretty sure its all plug and play mate, you should sign up cause im itching for mine! haha
Go the Delphi Intank if you can afford it! $500.00 much more reliable then the Walbro intanks:buttrock:
According to my intended tuner I dont need a intank pump yet, the standard pump and process west surge and 044 will be ok apparantly. Thanks for the advice though,
-
Ive sent you a pm in regards to the surge tank Cheers
-
Aalright Ive taken your advice and purchase a set of stnew standard injecotrs re-drilled to 72lbs (thanks cam by the way). Hiro thanks for the msg in regards to the valve springs and process west surge tank. I will pm you. Anyone else keen on these items?
-
Yeah mate I got it all fitted, I havent given the ute too much of a hard time and wont until the exhaust and fuel sytem is done and even then with a rough tune I will have to baby it up to see dave sheehy in mackay. In saying that the the under batter CAI sounds insane and even with the standard BOV plumbed back in, is quite loud. The quality of the product was awesome, things were a little tight but once it mate it looks facotry. How do you find the plenum? I couldn't justify the extra money for the plenum considering my hp goal for now but the good thing about the 2.2 kit is when I go to the plenum later its only one join I need to change from the cold side of the cooler to the plenum.

If the injectors for your fg are the same as bf im in for 60lb, Ive been onto the guys from tuffcarparts.com they can do $355 for a seat of 6 injectors and that's per person, not even a group buy, can any of the forum sponsors come up with anything similar I wonder?
-
Right, Can remove process west 2.2kit, and exhaust components as I have those now Still chasing 12lb actuator and fuel system, still researching the injectors at the moment, hearing theres a slight issue with the spray pattern of the deka 60lb injectors causing rough idle, not that im hugely worried about that but Im goin for the whole sleeper look from the outside, so the cooler im spraying matt black and no wank wank stickers. But if anyones chasing the same parts let me know
-
Ive played around with a few of these, with jet/nozzles sizes etc, I dont thing the temp of the water itself would be a huge problem, its more to do with the quantity of water sprayed over the cooler and not enough does nothing, and too much water does a similar thing, as you need the water to evaporate which is what pulls the heat out of the cooler, The first set up I made to test the idea was primitive and used garden srinkler type nozzles which were a "spray" pattern, it worked sh*thouse, I then went to a "mist" set of nozzles and bam, a thousand percent better.

How To Check Which Injectors?
45T-XR replied to whyallapunk's topic in Fuel System & Induction Workshop
In my experience there are generally 3 categories, the first and one I was in for ages knows lots about cars but didn't have the money for a 300+rwkw car, the other which alot of my mates where in was having lots of money and no FU$%ING idea haha. The third is a fortunate few which id like to think im progressing into is having both hahaha. -
If you have a misfire or white fuel smoke coming from the exhaust then you most likely have a leaking injector, ratter has already outlined the consequences of running too rich, but in addition to that you can damage 02 sensors, but also a 02 sensor failure also causes your engine like to come on and your vehicle to run rich as the signal the PCM is receiving from the 02 sensor is out of specification so the PCM imploys a rich strategy as its less harmful than running lean, but the runnning rich scenaro caused be the 02 sensor will give the same results as the leaking injector, kinda like a vicious loop really haha. but yeah mate you need to get it sorted. Where are you located, I can take a look at it for you if your close by?

Ive sent you a pm mate

Hey lads, Just paid for me process west stage 2.2 kit and I cant wait to get all the rest of the fuel system and stuff done, its slowly coming along, the biggest hold up is work! working 7on 7 off makes things take sooooo much longer to get done.
-
That sounds about right, my old nov 2002 xrt sedan hit speed limiter around 235-240, and my 2005 br ute is the same
yes I was refering to you. got any piccies?
Indeed I do actually, sh*tty ones though, taken from my phone, its not lowered yet cause I can only just get it down my bastard drive was so my ute looks puss, but im ordering a some stuff from blueboost so the springs will have to wait until I sell me house and build one with a nicer driveway haha. I will put the pics up in my garage
