Yeah mate I will definately be there, hoping to get my car on the dyno and throw a bit more timing at it now Ive fitted the water/methanol. hoping to crack the 11s. My little cousing should be there also with his ute, its basically same as mine without the water/meth but has a bigger exhaust, Its making 515rwhp so he should go a bit quicker with traction I cant see your pic that well but its a seduce looking fg turbo ute yeah? mine will be the lightening strike BF ute with my username as the plates
  2. Bit of an update, first test and tune out the best I could manage was 12.4 at 117mph Since then Ive fitted my water meth kit, with no alterations to the tune 12.2 at 119mph Cant wait to play with the tune!!!

Sorry mate, wish I would have seen this earlier, I dont get on this forum much anymore due to the fact that not alot happens in terms of socialising, I joined the other forum falconxr6turbo.net.au There is a downside, there arent as many people that are clued up but the boys from around brissy area do heaps of stuff, myself and my cousing from here head down a fair bit. I went to the test and tune at benaraby on the friday night. Best I could managed on dirty old dunlops was 12.2 @119mph. Want to crack the 11s on steeties before I go to semi slicks
  4. Atomic forgies? c'mon guys...you know you want them
  5. I spoke to the guy ive been dealing with at shannons about powercruise and about my cousin as he is under 25. He said to email him and he will take the case to his boss and see if they can insure him, might be worth a try to give them a call. The werre over $100 cheaper than AAMI and now my car is insured for $25k instead of the market value of $21,200 with all my mods listed and covered. However they dont do CTP insurance in QLD so I couldn't use them for my third party and hence no extension for powercruise. however my CTP is still with AAMI and they gave me an extension for powercruise free of charge. so its all good
  6. Mate sooo sorry for your dealings, I tell you what though, im glad forums like this one are around other wise alot more people would be sharing your misfortune. If I was in your area id offer my services with all the other lads, here. Take your money in blood and cries for his mother
  7. I had the same question and emailed powercruise about it, they said most insurance companies wont insure you for being on the track and that if they do cover you it will only be at the venue apparanly but I thought that would be the same as any other venue. I just changed over to shannons a few days ago and will call them tomorrow and find out what they can do, then get back to you about it
  8. Keeping in mind that was his test mule and got driven incredibly hard, Also that car only ever saw the dyno once from memeory for tuning as those were the early days when dave started out. Mines bf series 1 also. Standard internals, not even valve springs. 362rwkw at 18psi. Tuned by dave also. But there are ba mk 1 making more power than mine and have been running around for over 2 years, tuned by dave also. Tuning and correct mods play a larde role in engine longevity, surge tank is a big one, to prevent the momentary lean out event on that day when you finally get a chance to race that wanker in the Late model camira you've been trying to get beside for ages haha. But seriously, The Ba itself is a little more risky as the Knock detection isnt of the same standard as BF and usually has to be toned down when the car is tuned, The potential effects of this are self explainatory, For testing with my BF we did to runs back to back with and without knock retard, with dave having his head in the engine bay, listening. Dropped 1rwkw when leaving the knock retard on, and that could mainly be put down to heat soak with the runs one after the other. Either way you would agree the potential gains/ if there were any are irrelevant. But yes in your case a more consersvative approach would be necessary, Get in touch with dave, honeslty ive seen daves list of tunes and happy customers, you would be hard pressed to find someone who knows more, and hes a top bloke and will teach you anything you want to learn.
  9. Thanks guys, cant wait to get it to the strip

    Wtf Is This

How many of you blokes have a b series with a premium colour screen? Did you know you can hold the power button until it beeps, then the screen will time out after a few seconds and go blank, its great for night time driving. Man you would not believe the amount of customers we had come in when I did my apprenticeship asking us to fix their screen, when I was driving my cousins ute to brissy for a tune, he was asleep and when he woke up hes like wtf happened to my screen, I had to show him all about it and tell him to RTFM!!!!!
  12. Cheers rip, he sure does. Next is to fit my water/meth injection and probably look at going valve springs and race balancer and oil pump gears and try get into the 400 club:p

Well I got the tune, I must say I'm pretty happy with the result considering the work ive done, Dave is an absolute wizard. Made 362.1rwkw and over heaps of torque that he toned down a bit. I will get my mrs to post up my dyno sheets after she gets home, I can build a do all my own car work but cant work a laptop, cracks my mrs up all the time haha

Turns out I wont have my water methanol done in time for a tune, I dont want to just drill and tap a thread into the intake pip, I wanted to tig a small bulkhead onto the intake pipe but over this weekend I could even fine a piece of billet ally to machine down, I turned our workshop upside down, and raided Bunnings/supercheap and autobarn and I cant get find a 1/8 NTP 27TPI nut anywhere to weld on, the gas fittings I think I will have to procure from a gas place, or hopefully conventry or mullings fasteners. Its not a huge dramas, dave said he can email me a tune with an extra 2 degrees timing put in which will be safe, and that's as far as he would have gone anyway, he reckons usually with water/meth you can go atleastt 4 degress but my motor will be on the brink anyway so dont want to throw a leg out of bed. I will get a dyno reading after the tune, and after the water meth. I will help a fair bit for dyno/drags keeping intake air temps consistant and allowing the PCM to run maximum advance more consistantly. Next things on the list after a tune will be stand alone trans cooler for the zf6 speed and better oil cooler to stop the PCM pulling timing when the oil temp gets a little high. Of course you can turn these off and tune in open loop but im getting dave to leave the torque tags and this sort of thing operating, in my opinion they are there for a reason. Fingers crossed, lads should get a half decent printout thursday, still be around 200hp lower that yours reece...until I build a engine for it
  16. hey lads, im fron CQ but daves asked me to put this up here, id love to make it up to mackay for it but im already going up the 17th for a tune from dave and have other commitments the weekend of the event. Hopefully might catch up with some of you cruising around when im up for a tune http://www.palmyradragway.com.au/

Yeah good mate, I pulled the turbo off to do the port job and replaced the standard actuator, done the injectors and flashed a tune in from dave to get it running so I can get it up to him, my process west race airbox and battery relocation turned up so I will be doin those with my water/methanol injection today after work. Goes up on the 16th for a tune on the 17th. cant wait.
  18. My ute does this also but I have process west surge and 044. I think its overpressurising causing a rich condition on startup, instead of turning the ignition on and waiting until the fuel pump primes then stops then starting the car, I only let it prime half as long, and now no more dramas. mines also on standard tune, so that's how I came to this conclusion, the injector duty cycle for startup could be calculated assuming standard pump output, im assuming once I get a tune and the injector duty cycle on start up is reduced to suit the problem will cease. Is yours still on standard tune aswell, or maybe you havent had a retune since your pump install
  19. Possible, but I havent seen under a fg, There used to be dramas with the sedans, the tailshafts had plastic weight holders and a combination of weights that clip onto the tailshaft bolts that bolt it to the pinion flange, we used to have to mark the position of the tailshaft in relation to the pinion and also the postion of the weights on the shaft, causes bad vibrations, the ford WDS had an attachement for and infrared pickup and a balancing function. I left ford after BF so I cant speak for the FG series. Id suggest calling ford and ask for a price to do it, its not that labour intensive, just up on the hoist and about half hours work
  20. Im not going down the road of misting the cooler, this is what ive gone for, I havent fitted it yet its just staring me in the face until next weekend http://www.snowperformance.net/product.php?pk=8
  21. Do they have the holes for the inner guard plastics to screw too, as well and the holes and speedi-nuts for the screw that attach the splash tray to the front bar?

Dump pipe turned up, but ive since been told that my dump pipe isnt actually a genuine x-force and its a copy made it taiwan, from other sources. Unfortunately I had already rubbed it back by hand and painted it a pot belly black sort of colour with ceramic based paint. But I will fit it up anyways and see how it goes
  23. Mate is your car lowered?
  24. Mate im keen for one aswell if we can find one that fits well, might be able to get a better price if we get two?
