  1. I have a fair few mods (larger intercooler, CAPA mod and larger dump pipe) but still manage to get an average of 14.3 l/100km. Can go as high as 15 around town but mostly to/from work and average about 50kph. If I am cruising I can get it to about 13 l/100kms
  2. Thanks for the info. Will do.
  3. Does anyone have an idea what would be causing the idel on my 2005 Series II XR6 Turbo Ute to be hunting up to 250 RPM once the car warms up? I have a CAPER box and tune but I have had that checked out and they say it is not the issue. Is it likely to be the Throttle Position Sensor?
  4. Thanks everyone. I knew it had to be a lock out solenoid and the base tune for a 5 speed says it all.
  5. Yes you can try APC at 45 Berriman Drive Wangara (Northern Suburbs) but tee it up first as he is always busy. Arron Freestone is the man to call on 0408 558 499. A word of caution though. Make sure you know exactly what you are getting for your money. I got a verbal quote for an intercooler upgrade of $1850 and it ended up costing me an extra $800 because he said and I agree that the boost actuator was sluggish and needed an 10psi one installed to get maximum boost. Once that was done he said that the plugs need regapping and full synthetic oil put in as the Ford oil was causing the lifters to bounce. That cost extra. Then after the initial tune he said that he recommended the boost solenoid be replaced which I agreed to but I thought he would finish the tune to get a steeper boost curve. Nope that is extra $$$. Does a good job but ask the right questions before the job so that you know what you are getting for your money.
  6. Hi I am a newbe to the forum and although I searched the site I may have missed soething so please excuse me if I have. I have recently had a custom CAPA tune done to my 6 speed manual ute and find that since the CAPA custom flash I am having trouble selecting reverse gear. It takes a hugh amount of effort to "break" though the gate and get it into reverse. Is there something wrong with the flash job that has caused the problem? Any advice would be great as my wife could not possibly select reverse like it is now. Thanks everyone in advance.
  7. I have a MKII 6speed Manual XR6 Ute in lightning strike made 1 April 2005 and has 30K km on it. Bought last month in Tas and drove it to Perth via Melbourne. Has a CAPA chip and now has a larger intercooler. Pulling 337kw at the flywheel. Great.
