Black 2005 BF XR6T ute, 6 speed Auto, 20" Black Wheels, 3.5" Exhaust from turbo back, BOV, CAI, Monza cooler, 42lbs injectors, edit, nizpro springs. From brisbane. I've been into hot cars all my life, GT's, nitrous injected 351's, brocks, WRX's, you name it (53 cars in 24 years), but this is definately my most favorite car ever. So easy to make power, drives like a stock grandma car (till foot hits floor). I honestly believe these are the best cars ever made, cheap, fast, comfy, look good. Awesome! The best info on the car - here, it's been a god send for some of the problems I've had... Thanks everyone... I guess for me, my next step wil probably be a FG FPV Turbo.
  2. Awesome! Thanks for the help guys. At least I know now. It's not generic, it's custom, but was carried out about 2 years ago and I have never run it till recently. Thanks again! Jim
  3. I'm interested in this topic... I went up to a 15psi tune, running 42lbs injectors, 3.5" Exhaust from turbo back, cold air, blow off etc. The same day I went to 15psi 5 of my flex plate bolts fell out, so I didn't get to try it, it's back and every time I drive it now, I nail it, it kicks back a few gears, smokes the tyres, shifts and the auto goes straight into limp mode - pull up, turn the key off, restart and we are away. I mean everytime I do this... Obviously not everyone has this issue, and I doubt mine is putting out anymore than most people here - so what is the go? It's a BF XR6T Ute. Any idea's? Jim
  4. Wow - well we just bought new bolts, flex plate and have loctited them this time, if I have the issue again it's Dowel the flex plate and cut down arp bolts. Interesting to hear it's common, I was wondering why I was the only one who had experienced this issue. JIm
  5. Thought I would post this one for you guys... I put new injectors in my ute about two weeks ago, put in the custom 15psi tune and went for a drive. It's a Bf series one, 6 speed auto. I've been running the 12psi tune for about 18 months. Got the injectors in, went for a drive up the mountain near us (mt nebo), the car ran well, was very happy with it's preformance. Took it home and wrapped it up for the next day. Day two and I wanted to see what it really went like, so I stopped and nailed it to the floor. It took off in clouds of tyre smoke, then there was an odd noise - like I had dropped a bunch of sockets into the engine bay. I slowed down, no worries, all drove normal, foot down - no worries. That's odd I think to myself. Pull up at the lights and it sounded like those sam sockets were beign thrown at the panels - people down the road were looking back to see what the noise was. The car was shaking and I was worried - could see an atomic engine on it's way. Bumped the revs up - noise gone. Back down - and it comes back. Well I stopped driving it, pulled the fans out and turned the engine over by hand - I could definately hear something being picked up and dropped. Off to my mates workshop... He looks it over and rings me back - sounds like a torqu convertor - I'll pull the box and we'll see what is going on - I get a photo and a phone call with him lughing his head off. Turned out - all, yes ALL but 1 flex plate bolt had fallen out. The last flex plate bolt was just hanging on. Has anyone else had this? They weren't broken or stripped, just rattled out - I suggest a co-incidence that it happened at the same time I bumped up the boost etc, but what the - ahow the hell could that happen? The box has never been out of my car, so is it a ford problem? Never the less, I'm paying for a new flexplate, bolts, and rear seal while the box is out. And a bottle of loctite ;-) Jim
