  6. Ok I'm no rocket scientist but I do have a successful backround in engineering.. My BA series 1 XR 8 ute weighs in at 1900 kg............ 2wd XT Terry, if im not mistaken, is 1995 kg........... To all the sceptics, "Do the maths people!" To Grudgee, knock your self out Mate. The wheels was about the only opportunity they had to make the Terry Turbo different from the rest, I'm a train spotter and I still find it hard to pick an F6X from a stock Terry until I'm right on top of it, no wonder FPV dropped it............
  7. Hey folks, haven't been here for a while, OK, stupid question. I had a Yamaha all in one Surrond/DVD/Tuner blah blah, I have since bought a Proper, all be it low end, Yamaha receiver, but with no speakers as yet, so I have hooked up all the all in one speakers except the Sub because the sub has a single RCA and a headphone Jack and the A/V receiver has nothing like this. The Sub is Powered and the headphone jack in labelled "signal" Anyone know how I might get around this in the short term????????.. Ta. Dean.
  8. Fords marketing department needs a complete cleanout, not saying that the Car isnt good but imagine if it had been marketed by the Expensive Daewoo PR machine. Holdens people are worth twice what their payed, how else can you explain 2 Cars, so closely matched, buy price, by quality, by dynamics, bang for your buck, blah blah blah, yet one outsells the other by nearly 2 to 1. How do you think Holdens people will handle telling their 40 something buyers of the Statesman that their gonna make it in China soon, I dont know either but I bet they will make it slide down like an Oyster Ah La Natural, FFS!!!!! Ford couldnt even get them to keep buying the Fairlane/LTD locally, basically because of how they were marketed, Ford wanted semi retired Bowls Club members and Expensive Daewoo wanted 40 something self employed / managment stock whos perception was that they had "made it" and owning this car was a statment about that, yes the death of Fords LWB models can rest soley in the hands of their marketing people! Sack em, sack em all, and then go and poach half of Holdens people. End rant. Oh by the way, HTF do they get away with marketing cars like that in the land of Litigation???????????????

Must say that I'm dissapointed that they havent gone with the dual exhausts on XR8, one thing that tops off the Euro look is symmetry, a twin, as in left and right hand sides of the car would have set it off, maybe 2.5 or 3 inch round for XR6T and 4 inch oval style for XR8, XR5 wheels look good, ON AN XR5!!, totally GAY on a Falcon, optioned wheels on Yellow T in Pics are the go! Some I've spoke to that dont sway Red or Blue have said it looks too much like the old car, but the styling cues it picks up from the old car is what I like about it, I remember reading an article where they ran a VE Berlina, I think, on a BF Fairmont, in the end they said the VE was marginally better, UP AGAINST A 5 YEAR OLD FALCON, if they've improved on the BA/BF then it must be a good jigga in the making. End Rant.

Triple Eight and FPR look the goods, Van Gis car not bad, but after that the Red boys have got it in spades, there is not a sh*t looking job amongst them, all look good, couple of them actually make the cars look like coupes. Expensive Daewoo motorsport were not very happy last year that they only had one team doing anything as far as the Championship went, TOLL, so look out Me thinks we are in for a butt kickin out of the first few rounds.
  15. Seto is a legend, but his time is well past, when you get guys like Whincup, Winterbottom and Davison, hes just another mobile chicane in the sprint races!!! Nor will he give Expensive Daewoo a victory in the enduros, I've got a feeling in my waters that's Skaifey's 2007 isnt going to be much better than his 2006!! Wildcard is Britek, honourable mention to HRTHSVTOLL's 6 car team, but the Team Vodaphone cars are going to be the ones to beat.

    I will not try to imagine how you feel, but I do offer my condolences for your friends and you. When you've had a bit more time to assess this, and when you have had some experience on the road, you will come to realize that its not as simple as you see it right now. Time, place, concentration and experience play a big part in driver skills, unfortunately most people have to learn that on the road. Just my bit.

I dont like the outcome of the events anymore than anyone else, but FFS, get with the program people. big coverage costs big dollars, if dont like it throw YOUR money at Production racing cause that's what its all about, if you want to see grass roots stuff then go watch Speedway or Motokhana's.     One of the best Tin Top drivers in the world, let alone Australia, the fact that he started to take on Rally's and Targa's after he finished Touring Cars made him all the more endering to me, to go put and do it purely for the fun and the love of the chase, what a man. ICONIC, is exactly what he is. Take a break Peter Brock, now weve got something else to look forward to when we get there.....
  19. I know its not a T guys, but my XR8 gets an average of 16 for a tank that's had a flogging(couple of 200 runs in there) down to about 13.7 for "normal" driving, up to 120, 65k's in either direction, Yarra Valley To Dandenong.
  20. I agree with what you are saying, but, paintings are for looking at, cars are for driving, and you really dont get their value unless you drive them, JMO!!!!
  21. Right you are Dags, its about the same in contrast, like "an Enzo isnt that nice a car", just thinking? If an XY GTHO fetches 450 to 500 k that's about 100 times its original price, but the Pininfarina Car, that's "only" about 9 times the original price, WHOA!!!!

Been running it in a XR8 for about a month, combined with centre muffler removal, I've picked up about 30 to 40 km's a tank, and the throttle response seems better, the car cracks the tyres alight more often than it ever used to, my Brother also runs it in his T, says its the only thing it doesnt ping on. Smells great too!!!!!
