ill just jump in here........ what are the turbos like once they get a few km's on them..... I know a standard 6 or 8 could put 300000kms+ on an engine but will a turbo engine last that long? Are there any engines that have got high kms that ppl know of with turbo failure?
lol I thought you were me!!!!! hahaha nah I am the same age in tville and in the same boat as you! dont go to a dealer. I am going to buy one early next year and will probably go through a broker and jsut tell them what I want and just wait till they find it! as for a loan...... save up as much as you can as the deposit and shop around (try www.ratecity.com.au) I found it fairly helpful. although if your job lets you salary sacrifice have a look at that option. do some calcs because it is better for high income earners clocking up a few kms to make it viable. insurance I was very surprised. currently wih aami and havent had any trouble but got a quote through for a 2005 BaMk11 manual turbo and was like $915 although I have held insurance since I was a bit over 16 and comprehensive for 3 years with a clean driving record. this quote was a bit over $100 less than what aami can do for me. also from what I have noticed there isnt much around our area. so shop around and be prepared to buy from brissy or even interstate to get what you want. you will be surprised on car transport costs and will def come in alot cheaper buying down south than the overpriced cars up here! Anyway let me know if you have any more questions I have been researching the exact same thing for a while!
mmmmmmmm soudns good but puts me in a predicament.... iw as going to get a Bseries turbo after they are released..... I have a feeling I am going to be a little tempted
that would just be a patch and prep job then your respray. Wouldnt be structural (I doubt hard lids would have much structural support anyway) should be a cheap repair or you could have a crack at it yourself for fun although for something that small the cost of getting all the materials to begin with prob isnt worth it
where abouts is it damaged? fibreglass is a bit of a pain to work with but its all about the finish you give it and prep before you get it resprayed. I would prob advise ringing a few boat builders and try and get a quote. it would be hard to give anymore advice without knowing whats actually damaged on it.
haha yeah.....would be intereesting to track down the owner and find out what issues he's had over the course of all those km's!!! there isnt much of a car there! I thought maybe 12k max
Hi guys Just been browsing around and came across this ute that's going to auction. Looks like it needs some work but it has some km's racked up!!! How much do you think it will go for? http://www.pickles.com.au/cars/vehicle/CP-...lotid-852023579 Jason
did they put that in writing for you? I would be just as worried as having an accident and the insurance company not covering you if you are towing more than the factory specs
maybe you sould get a towbar? good for 4 things...... use to pull from when in bogs, tow things, less damage if someone runs up the back of you and in your case nudge ppl so they dont block you in!!
haha why were u in that sand? was there a single front tow point but just wasnt practical for the bog you were in? you could be right though... I have a relitive that is a trucky for a car transport company and he reckons more and more cars are coming out with no tow/tie down points which is a pain for him cause he has to use wheel braces.
I found that the sedan was 2300kg (braked) and the ute was 1080kg (braked) BAMKII Sedan (manual) http://www.redbookasiapacific.com/au/vehic...hp?key=FORD04PC BAMKII Ute (manual) http://www.redbookasiapacific.com/au/vehic...hp?key=FORD04QS Or are these figures wrong? .... and if so does anyone know the actuals?
Hi guys This might be a stupid question and have a very simple answer.... I am in the process of searching for a turbo ute but have noticed (especially in the manuals) they have a very small towing capacity compared to the sedans. I understand you could physically put alot more weight in the actual tray than you could fit in a sedan but when it comes to towing say a ski boat or caravan this wouldn't matter. Could anyone shed some light on this for me? Thanks heaps Jason
Hey craig Im a Mackay boy and finish uni in Townsville at the end of the year. Just wondering who runs the CHPP at Hail Creek, is it contracted out or does Rio run it aswell? I am looking for a Grad job and want to move back to Mackay if I can
