if I can just ad a couple of sentences to this topic from the point of view of a ford employee. If you keep abreast of current ford international happenings, you would be aware that Ford Australia is now fending for itself in regards to its bottom line. This is due to Ford US recording all-time losses to the tune of around ten billion dollars. These figures are well documented in the press for those who still doubt it. If you really need some sort of reality check as to how Ford Australia is struggling, how about you look at the fact that WA has a vast mining community, of which the salary's the workers are taking home are quite large, yes they risk their lives, so they are paid for it and they go and buy FPV's and XRs. Why don't you come and spend some time in Sydney, where the cost of living is the highest in the country, spend some time in a dealership and realise that instead of sitting back in our airconditioned offices laughing at the ppl we just "ripped off" we are actually just sittin around waiting for the opportunity to actually speak to a customer if they ever come through the door. FACT: COROLLA OUT-SOLD Late model camira AND FALCON THIS YEAR So before you go and claim that ford are raking the money, come and speak to the people who are trying to sell the product in the frontline, on average earnings in the motor industry are down by roughly 60% compared to 2002 at BA launch. Ford still make great cars, they make great small cars also, unfortunately no-one knows it, and there aren't enough well paid miners to support a national company that has to inturn support thousands of Australians A long blurb, but things can get blurry when you look through stained glass...
