1. Thanks alot guys, really saved me some $$
2. Sorry Mate, I must have missed a few posts there! I really appreciate the offer BFHOON, I have since spoken to CAPA who sold me the unit , they want me to pull it out and take photos to send them. I've decided to pull the motor down while the gearbox is out, if they reject the claim on a faulty unit I might take you up on that offer! The reason I started this topic is because I always log on looking for a drive, but nothing is happening!
3. As the topic suggests, I'm after around 350rwkw on max tune, I'm about to pull the motor down, do I need stronger headstuds, or should I just get new genuine ones? Any help appreciated
4. read my previous reply and then contemplate that no-one goes into business to break even, everyone goes into business so they can be prosperous, for whatever reason...
5. if I can just ad a couple of sentences to this topic from the point of view of a ford employee. If you keep abreast of current ford international happenings, you would be aware that Ford Australia is now fending for itself in regards to its bottom line. This is due to Ford US recording all-time losses to the tune of around ten billion dollars. These figures are well documented in the press for those who still doubt it. If you really need some sort of reality check as to how Ford Australia is struggling, how about you look at the fact that WA has a vast mining community, of which the salary's the workers are taking home are quite large, yes they risk their lives, so they are paid for it and they go and buy FPV's and XRs. Why don't you come and spend some time in Sydney, where the cost of living is the highest in the country, spend some time in a dealership and realise that instead of sitting back in our airconditioned offices laughing at the ppl we just "ripped off" we are actually just sittin around waiting for the opportunity to actually speak to a customer if they ever come through the door. FACT: COROLLA OUT-SOLD Late model camira AND FALCON THIS YEAR So before you go and claim that ford are raking the money, come and speak to the people who are trying to sell the product in the frontline, on average earnings in the motor industry are down by roughly 60% compared to 2002 at BA launch. Ford still make great cars, they make great small cars also, unfortunately no-one knows it, and there aren't enough well paid miners to support a national company that has to inturn support thousands of Australians A long blurb, but things can get blurry when you look through stained glass...
6. I spoke to brad this morning and forgot to ask him he did say that the standard ones aren't re-usable so it would be a good idea to replace them
7. Hey Guys, does anyone know if headstuds are a direct replacement, or do you have to re thread the block, the reason I ask is because I had a mate with a skyline (qualified mechanic) who was told ARP head studs would fit straight in, however once he has them fitted, they had stretched the block and squashed his oil gallery, needless to say, I don't want this to happen to my T when I put some atomic head studs in next week! Any comments would be welcome! Cheers, Pat
8.
Thread title adjusted accordingly......
LOL, so true until someone comes up with some prices!
9. I'd talk to a workshop, one of the sponsors on here could probably help you, alternatively, find a ford service dept and ask them about the ecu, professionals are required to answer this one, not forum jockeys like us!
10. I just saw this on the tv, I think she is the poster child for the question!
11. I hope you had your Rip Curl seat covers on while doing that nutty burnout!
12. yeah but there's a difference between grandpa and big pimpin granndpa with a turbo :fear (5):
13. now there's an idea!
14. a very vague generalsation, but hey whatever
15. wow this looks like tuff one, the car won't start because it isn't program for the airflow rates and what not, I'm not sure if the injectors are the same either... Quite an undertaking either way!
16. you musn't be using my mechanic then! besides you can't have a go at a ford mechanic for not knowing how to use a product he's never been trained to use, did you give him the instructions with it? Hey, at the end of the day, everyone has different experiences with different workshops
17. lol, know what you mean, the boys in service are pretty cluey though, they do all my work, keep that under your hat though...
18. good job mate, again, very tidy
