  1. Gixxer is up there but I'm not looking for super sports - I'm too fat and tall to fold my self up on one of those for the riding I do - mostly long distance. Thinking one of these:
  2. That something may have involved a cocky WRX driver and the top of 3rd gear... I passed the attitude test with the officer and he was a bloody good bloke to let me off lightly, luckily (in a way) I'm still provisional so the suspension only applies to my rider licence. Anyway, if I'm not stupid I'll be riding again in January and not far off upgrading my bike.
  3. Fuarrk... I crapped my pants just thinking about 2 step on a bike...hahaha In other news, I may have been caught doing something that means I may not be able to ride my bike for a couple of months Great timing just before riding season...
  4. Keep the parts you have, put the bar on the softest setting. Koni only make Hydraulic shocks for the FG Falcon - no gas options.
  5. What tyres are you running? Falcons really need a grippy tyre to work well expecially if you have made the front end really stiff with the aftermarket swaybar. If you aren't due for new tyres, try going back to the orignal swaybar to allow some more movement in the front end. This will work better with average street tyres.
  6. I think it's a 40 or 42 of some kind - this thing has run 7.56 @185 in the past Phil howard as in Pro Stock?
  7. /\/\/\ I saw this thing run on Wednesday night - SO VIOLENT! It's last run was an 8.5 after a poor start and then carrying the front wheel for close to half the track. Azzopardi Racing if anyone is interested
  8. Pretty common for the window reg to skip a tooth on the winding wheel (not sure what its called technically) You can get an aftermarket power reg pretty easily
  9. Early reports were putting the XR8 around the 50K mark which would have me very interested... I'm not sure if it's because I don't have a previous gen falcon anymore or if I'm actually sick in the head but I like the look of the XR8 - gotta agree about the badges being an afterthought though.
  10. That's the million dollar question - ebay arms are usually ok but the ball joint or bushes won't last long.
  11. The bushes vary a little, but the arms are all the same - the spare parts guy is being a lazy *beep*...
  12. Also check the swaybar link pins - can cause a rattle noise
  13. The balljoints are part of the arms - so you need to replace the whole arm. Not exactly convenient but its how a lot of manufacturers are going now. Only other thing I can think of is the strut tops - they could be wearing but there is minimal movement in them since the shock doesn't mount to the hub.
  14. A worn bush is a ruined one waiting to happen...lol It would suggest that a bushing somewhere has cracked and is allowing excessive movement or water and road grime in between the bushing and steel case
  15. Check your upper and lower control arm bushes, plus the swaybar links and d-bushes. How many kays has your car got on it?
  16. If you don't have anyone nearby that can re-set your leaves with extra material as Pazz mentioned, King springs have a HD rear leaf that will bolt straight in and is the equivalent of factory 1 tonne leaves. They aren't extremely heavy but when combined with the air bags you'll be apples. Give me a call in the office if you have no luck elsewhere Pat 02 9831 8825
  17. If it was auto I would - also if the diffs weren't dodgy with clearances I'd fit them to anything - a solid bush can't create a noise, it can only transfer a noise or vibration that is already there. If you want to run the comfort bushes be prepared to replace them. Not as often as factory but they won't last forever.
  18. Yep, as kosij said the thread in the hat has probably stripped out. Don't waste your time with thread repair they don't last. New factory hat and bolt will be fine or you can get an upgraded hat from malwood or others
  19. Regardless of the model, replacing valve springs is a good idea for reliability. Even though the MK2s came with better springs compared to BA they are still factory and not designed for increased boost on a regular basis. Even FGs have been shown to see improvements with uprated valve springs so I'd budget them in at some point.
  20. He's right Keith - for a street car more so, but even for race cars. Even if you have full slick tyres and aero you can still have suspension that is too stiff. Its all relative to the application. On a street car with street tyres you might find 800lb is way too stiff but on a race car with slicks and a caged up body it's far too soft. Current V8 super cars run anywhere from 900-1400 in the front but the Tein Super Street for your falcon are around 620lb.
  21. Got me interested. I've even got the Mrs half interested...
