Hi Guys sorry its been a while since I posted last but I have been having a problem with my BA lately that has me stumped. (Not hard to stump me ) When the car is cold and I go for a drive under light or heavy acceleration the I hear a noise like the throttle has closed and the boost is dumped back into the intake side. I have not lifted off the accelerator, the car seems to do this automatically. I do feel a slight surge/loss in power. It happens very quickly and can happen in rapid succession (like its having a sneeze attack) at times. At first I thought I was a dodgy TB so I changed it out with a known good one and I get the same result. I then thought I was a dodgy BOV but I had a look adjusted the spring a few times and still get the same result. I'm no mechanic but can turn a spanner. Anyone have any ideas? If it helps its a 2004 BA XR6 Turbo. 2006 Atomic Engine, Plazmaman 1000HP Cooler, Plazmaman 4" intake, Plazmaman BOV, Process West Plenum, GTX3582R. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also If I posted in the wrong area sorry.

A few years ago my wife and I wanted a HSV Maloo so we went down to the local HSV dealership. The salesman looked up from his paper and said nothing. Had a look in and out of the car 2 or 3 times and still nothing. Finally asked for assistance and he said the SS's were out in the lot and these are HSV's. He said someone my age (23) could not afford a HSV. Went to another dealership that day and got what I wanted. A few days later when we picked the car up we went to see the stupid salesman to show him the new HSV we just bought. His boss was very please we stopped in and showed him as well. I would not have wanted to be that knob that day.

Tyres are good one of my first thoughts. Took the hub off yesturday and the bearings are pritty dry. I repacked them and so far the noise has gone. We will see how it goes over the next few days.

HI guys I have a loud humming noise that I think is coming from the front left. I can't hear anything at low speeds but the faster I go the louder it gets. I'm trying to think of possible faults. There are no marks on the disks so I don't think it’s the brakes. There is no shudder in the wheel. Could it possibly be the bearing??? Any Ideas?

Took my car in to the local ford dealer here in Albury when I got it back it had no power at all. Easy fix I just tightened up ALL the clamps on the intake piping. All loose not even finger tight. Then when I gave it a bit it back fired like a mo-fo. Took it back and told them to regap the plugs like I told them the first time. Service manager told me they did and it must be another fault. I made a bet with him. Said I would wait while they took the plugs out and measure them if they were correct I would pay if not I get a refund. I was right and got my money back. Not happy Jan they clearly don't know whats happening. A few weeks later I got talking to a guy down the street that said a few of his mates love my car and how fast it was. I was sort of excited that people were talking about my car thinking maybe they had seen me down at a recent car show. So I asked how did they know about my car and he said they were mechanics down at ford and took it for a "little Spin". OMFG I wanted to go down to ford and go spastic but what evedence do I have. I will never go back.

Its not a very loud noise and will go away when it warms up. I doubt I could get in on audio or video. Also my car feels like its down on power but I cant be sure untill I get it on a dyno.

I think im having the same issue. Does it sort of sound like when you put a beg in a bike wheel?

Old thread so I thought I would jump on it. I have the same problem I put the car on the ramps today to see if I had a loose flexplate I tightened all bolts none of them were loose. Im hopeing its not a rod I have 285rwkw 04 BA could it be the Torque converter? and is it okay to drive it to the Auto place or should I tow it. Anyhelp plz.

I'm in the same boat. Just left the navy as an Electronics Tech fixing weapon systems now I'm installing telephone systems for a company called Commander. I hate it, pays crap. So for the past 8 months I have been applying for Electrical apprenticeships but the 16yr olds keep getting the jobs. I was once told at a group interview that I didn't encorage the younger guys to speak up. Im in Albury so I think that's half my problem.
