  1. I got Dunlop Sportmaxx TT's instead and must say - very impresses compared to previous Dunlop rubbish fitted as OEM. They seriously grip and the ute now actually has to work to lose traction off the line and in corners the ESC light will start to flash before you feel the car letting go in a corner so its actually holding on extremely well.
  2. f1 Asym now superceded by F1 Asy 2. No stock of 245/35R19's left apparently and no word on the ver 2 tyre availability.
  3. GMAX The only wheel wholesaler who actually allows you to search for rims that clear Brembo's. As my ute is slipping and sliding worse now with the rubber coming to the end of life I have been contemplating a rim change to a staggered fitment and put on 275/30R19's, but I just can't find anything that I prefer the looks of over the FG GT rims it currently wears. I am thinking I will just go with Toyo Proxes T1R or Eagle F1's in stock size and wait and see if the replica wheel makers come out witha 19x9.5 in the FG GT rim style.

    Carpet In Tub?

Well it isn't magic. It certainly helps as much as any product will. I don't have tool boxes etc in there so am probably not the right person to ask. The golf bag will still roll if I am being silly! But normal driving I have had boxes etc not shift. Give anything that isn't screwed to the floor enough G forces and it will slide I reckon!!

    Carpet In Tub?

A nice shagpile would look the shnitztits There is a guy selling a precut marine carpet for the FG on ebay. $90 plus deliv ery. I couldn't be assed buying carpet and cutting it out to match the tray so went with it. All good. Comes with screws for front and you reuse the ones across the back. Doesn't flap, cleans easy etc.
  6. Depends if its and everyday driver. If so the 6A is probably the easy choice. As a weekend driver and circuit car than it would be 6M for me....something more connected to the whole experience of driving with a manual. I have a 6A but run 25000 a year.
  7. Thanks for the report ZAP. Well I have racked up @ 3000km on my 6pot Brembo conversion on the XR6T ute. Not even close to being an issue in that time. I commute and I play (a bit) so give the brakes a bit of a work out. Mine is late 02/09 build so perhaps there was a bush material change at some time. Looks like we have to wait and see long term, but it may not be a systemic as first thought.
  8. Keep us posted mate. Wonder if there was a bush material change from the earlier models. Still no issues with my retro fit 6 pots - probably 2k km into them now. I do know I will be changing pads from OEM when the time comes up. I know why the dark argent wheels are so popular...less wheel cleaning.
  9. Good news Zap but do you reckon you can get pics and perhaps location of installation so those of us that have a non FPV fitted can look at it and see what we can do.
  10. Well me FG XR6T ute, 6 pot front/big PBR rear (ie SP ute style). 5500km. Brakes only 1000km but its a commuter so they get the full range of sudden stops and trickling stops. ute is pretty much always unladen though. Build date 2/09 Not a lot of data but must say that so far its only people with 6/4 setups and so far early builds. Anyone care to offer more data.
  11. And the beauty is they can sit up your arse, they can overtake, they can do what they like, cause you sit in the cabin happy as a pig in poo knowing that you don't have to try hard but they are.
  12. Excellent. So looks like a Qld trade plate. Where did you get it from?
  13. http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.ph...ge=22&pp=25 Simmons for you mate......some nice custom offsets to fill the space under the rear arch. Bring big $$ for boots to suit :-)

I have a smile on my dial everytime I give it a touch on the fast pedal. The FG is an awesome car. I have a VE for work and they are miles behind the FG in interior and drive standards. And the poxy V6 and auto is that far behind the 6T/6A combo it is a wonder Expensive Daewoo can sell cars IMHO. Spent yesterday admiring the underneath of the FG on a mates hoist. Quite a nice bit of engineering in them really too. No turbo will ever sound as good as a nice v8 but it takes a special v8 to deliver the same smile as a stock FG XR6T when you give it a blast.
  15. Zap Would be handy if another Sydney based member could either drive yours or you drive theirs to see if it is purely driver style? On that note mine is 02/09 build FG XR6T with Super Pursuit brake package Brembo 6 pot front, PBR red rears and genuine FG GT rims. No experience with issues yet but have only been on for 2 days.
