  4. http://svtregistry.com/fpv/super-pursuit/b...0021/index.html That thing is unreal.
  5. I'm a westy bogan and am offended by your comments. Blown V8's suck and everyone knows black is the fastest colour because it is not one (a colour that is).
  6. Top Gear is just so beautiful to look at too. The locations (autobahns, dormant volcanos, army training grounds) make it more interesting than just seeing cars go around a track.
  7. thread
  8. That's a really neat looking job XR.
  9. If you get a TomTom go910 from Europe or the US they have the maps for both the US and Europe installed. The aussie go910 only contain Aussie maps. However, I saw the tomtom Aussie maps go for $80 on eBay last week. The 910 has a 20 gig hard drive so there is plenty of room for more maps. So maybe your best bet is to either buy one while you are there or get one off eBay from Europe.
  10. Be very careful doing this. I believe that the Tomtom cigarette lighter plug contains a converter that steps down to 5V, cutting before this and hooking up directly to 12V will almost certainly fry it. Better off buying a bodge cig lighter socket from super cheap and hooking that up to your 12V or opening the guts of the plug and hooking the end up to 12V. http://www.tomtom.com/products/section.php...ory=0&Lid=8 You can see in the pic that its a pretty meaty plug, gotta be something in there.
  11. Are you talking about above the triangle panel on top of the dash? That would be awesome, but I'd say you would run the risk of more attention from the police. They could probably see it through the back window. I wonder if there is enough room to do some sort of hinge/fold-out design there.
  12. I don't know the answer to your screen question. Have you checked out this thread? There is a lot of info in there on CAR PC setups. I remember something about an arcadeVGA plug being needed to put out the right sync. As far as where to get a carPC, its either build your own as I was going to do OR ebay it. I saw a brand new 1 ghz system, which is a low end system go for $500. Plus theres always google. You can probably always get a small PC place to build it. They use a miniITX motherboard, which basically already has most stuff onboard. I.e graphics card, sound etc. mp3car.com is a great place to start learning about carPCs in general.
  13. Thanks for the replies guys. Dude, that looks awesome. How much do you charge to install these things? Chris, that looks tidy too. What size/brand touchscreen is that? 6, 7 inch? Is it easy to navigate your menus and stuff down there? and the viewing angle? Neat as well, you can see there would be heaps more room with an auto vs a manual. I had a look while I was driving today and just don't know whether there is enough room while in 1st,3rd or 5th. I tend to wrap my entire hand round the shift rather than sit it on top. It looks like too much of a tight squeeze.
  14. I'm looking for some advice from you guys. I've been looking at fitting a carputer to my T. I've got the standard black & white LCD screen and I don't want to upgrade to the ASL screen as it's too expensive. My only other option is to mount something at the tissue box. So my question is has anybody mounted any type of fold out screen in the tissue box area? Has anyone had dramas with the space between the screen and the shifter and whether the viewing angle is good enough or not? The screen I am thinking about is here: http://www.xenarc.com/product/700IDT.html and my bodgy photochop is here: What do you guys reckon?
