    May be a dumb question but have you checked all your manifold, turbo flange and exhaust flange bolts? Also check your bolts that secure the front and rear housing. Could be your actuator not working, where did they plumb your boost signal that was orignaly tapped into the front housing? Just trying to go through the simple things. Sounds like the turbo is trying to make the power but is possibly losing boost somewhere. Mate I agree with everyone else don't sit back and accept your car the way it is, get it tuned elsewhere.     Mate you have the supporting mods there is no reason you cant hit 400 on 17psi.

    My mate has a VE SS ute with cams exhaust and all the rest of the good gear and makes 350rwkw. Goes hard but I still have the torque advantage!

    I have similar mods to yourself. I have the 4" intake with the 2.5" hot side and my car comes on boost much earlier. I think it's the tune, almost everyone else running this setup is in the low 400 zone. I have spoken to many tuners from Adelaide and Sydney and they agree it's good bang for your buck mod. A very good turbo for the street for traction and minimal lag.

    I changed my valve springs took 11 hours with the Atomic tool. I went with the Atomic 34psi springs have never had a problem since. I used to have the nizpro items but they were Don't get it a tooth out. My car idled like crap turned it off for 10 minutes and restarted, got told that it was the lifters draining out.

    I would be dissipointed if when I get my GTX tuned it made no extra power when they are quoting 10 to 15% gain over GT3582 on the Garret website. I have been told that the real gains aren't being made because of our restricive exhaust manifolds. The GT3582 are averaging 410 to 420, the GTX has the more efficient 11 blade wheel you would think it would make more than the GT brother? I will probably go with the 6 boost manifold and external wastegate set up later. I guess I am half way there, I think with the T4 inlet and better manifold design I should be able to hit 450 plus.

    I also have the GTX turbo same as yours, a bit sad that you are not happy with your set up. Have you tried speaking to another tuner get a few prefessional opinions? There has been a few tune house cars (manuals) that have gone 450 plus with this set up. I am getting mine tuned by Heinrich in Adelaide. He thinks the car should make about 430rwkw. Hope you get it sorted

    My car made 379.5rwkw with the standard turbo with larger wastgate and actuator mod. No offense but I thought yours would have made more

  11. My turbo had the common bearing fail so I replaced it with a GTX3582R. I removed the turbo my self and got MTQ to reinstall the new GTX front onto my original rear housing. I purchased the turbo for $1650 plus install $600. Took it for a drive and what a difference the new tubo makes! I would highly recommend the upgraded oil lines with filter. Also nearly every bolt was finger tight when I removed the old turbo! The T3 flange was only held together by 2 finger tight bolts the other 2 were missing!!! For the extra $400 bucks I would go the GTX. Good luck mate, hope you get it fixed soon.

    The external gate will require a new manifold, dump pipe. Will cost alot more, I'd just see what she runs withyour setup. I've been waiting for 18 months to fix my car and I finally have the money when BANG GOES MY AIRCONDITIONER in my house! Timing is impecable.

    I have a similar set up to yours with the GTX3582. I am hoing for 420, I have seen a couple of guys hitting 420 to 430 the manifold is the real restriction. The 6 boost manifold with external gate would see more! My car made 380 with standard turbo rule of thumb is 30rwkw on the same boost which would hopefully mean my car would make 410rwkw at 17psi. I guess I am speculating the proof will be in the tune soon!!! My 2c Alf

  16. Has anyone else gone with the GTX3582 set up? What power approx? I'm after less lag and a bit more mid to top end punch. Don't want to go too extreme as the CV's will let go
  17. OK I guess Heinrich it is then. MTQ suggested a different tuner but I was concerned when they said he mainly tunes Jap cars but not many XR6T's. Thanks guys I'll go to Heinrich then get the car registered after 18 months off the road in my garage! I have forgotten what power is because I drive my Egas BF wagon, which is a slug but very economical. Adelaide has many hidden cameras around so I'd better be care full where I put my foot down.   19. Hey guys, I have just moved to Adelaide from Sydney and want to know who are the good tuners and who are not? I have had my car tuned at CV Performance who are very good but sadly as I am not in Sydney I need a descent tuner. I have my car getting a GTX3582 installed at MTQ and am hoping for over 400rwkw. Any help would be great! What about car cruises do they happen here, I wouldn't mind goin on a few. Cheers Alf.

  21. I have 19x10.5' rear but they do stick out from the rear guard a little. I used a bolt on spacer, inside is clear by about 15mm but the outside now sticks out. I may go to a 9.5" rear wheel as it will keep the cops off my ass.
  22. Jeez I feel for you mate but surely you must have some sort of warranty? Did you buy it brand new or second hand? I have my turbo out and am going to do the CHRA install my self also, I hope mine doesn't seize. The CHRA can only fit in one way and like you say it was spinning at first, got me stuffed. Keep us posted.
  23. True that. I was running 375rwkw for 2 years before I purchased my 6 pot brembos. The brakes were the best mod I have done! If I ever have another build I would concentrate on Brakes, Suspension then Power.
  24. I do think the monster kit would out perform the 6 spot Brembo kit but do you think you would use them to that level? For the street the 4 pot brembo fronts would be more then adequate.
  25. I think QLD is more leniant with import cars. Most of the USA cars go to Vic or QLD
