We all know CV dyno reads lower than elsewhere, the car did make 385 on that one and did have manifold leak aswell ( only had 2 figer tight lose turbo flange bolts in place) I only found that problem when I replaced the turbo but in hindsight shouold have relised when I could smell rotten gas from the drivers side. I am with haydog the car feels like 450rwkw, I know a few cars that made 460 on dekas comes down to the supporting mods.
  2. for all the non believers out there this car did feel every bit like 423rwkw before his last tune, cold mornings 120, 140 km/hr would fry the tyres. Even though people only think its just a front wheel upgrade these new GTX turbos come on very strong compared to the GT35 turbos. Dont forget this car did make 385rwkw on the CV dyno, and felt alot stronger when I put the new turbo in! A tune on top of that and 450rwkw through a manual box should make 45o at the treads. CV would have got the tuning job but I no longer live in Sydney anymore so Heinrich is very well recognised here in SA! We have our drag strip back now, Should take the 68 Camaro down for a Burn!!   4. Haydog you got a great car mate! I built it over 7 years with much money spent and pain when thing didn't go right. But now the car is sorted part from the tune, should punish most cars on the road but be careful she bits hard! Good to see her go to a good home oh well looks like the 68 camaro will be in the shed for quite a while! Cheers Alf
  5. Anyone interested in swapping there standard parts for my performace parts on a BA XR6T plus cash my way. Parts of interest are: - Atomic 960kw bottom end which will include long motor, gtx turbo, atomic valve springs, 60 pound injectors, process west cooler plenum/piping and plazmaman 4 inch intake in exchange for full standard motor set up including computer plus $10,000. The engine alone is worth 12k from atomic, turbo 2k, plazmaman intake 1k, process west set up 5k. - 6 piston brembo brake calipers fpv rotors including brackets in exchange for standard full front set up in good condition plus $1500 - Axis Hiro Wheels as mentioned and seen in previous posts for standard wheels plus $1000 Call me on 0421600247 for more info, preffered method would be to sell the car or return it to stock plus cash my way.

  14. Yeah you use your current exhaust housing. Will need to modify the actuator bracket, upgrade to the 4" intake and 2.5" hot side Also will need to find another tap off point for the boost (old turbo had a boost nipple on the compressor cover) I ran a t piece and used my blow off valve vacume line out put. $1650 for turbo, $100 for head gasket turbo exhaust outlet and inltet gasket and new hardware $1000 plazmaman intake $15 for 90 deg bend that fits turbo hot side to rapid hot side piping $220 for oil supply braided line with filter (a must) Bit over 3k to do it right

  16. if you want to spend 7k go larger set up if you want a car with 420 to 450+ go GTX3582. I paid $1650 for mine.
  17. I have a gTX3582R and although it has yet to be tuned it pulls alot harder then my standard turbo. guys are getting 420 to 430rwkw with these on standard manifolds! Or 450 plus on E85. Good cheap option I think, you will need to upgrade the intake and hot side as diametres are slightly larger. Large turbo set up will set you back alot not much change from 7 to 8k. On the street I think the little GTX is great, I have heard the precision turbos are good aswell you should invest your time researching these also. Cheers Alf

  20. I have a manual and have had many drag races with autos rolling acceleration 80km/hr 3 to 4th not much in it the manual can sometimes get the jump! Off the line manual is very hard to launch and 9/10 the auto will mince the manual as I have found. On windy roads the manual is alot of fun and 2 gear burnouts are a hit! If you want time slips at the drags the auto is for you if you want more fun and engaging driving the manual should be your choice! The gear changes kill you if your racing the auto, about .5sec every change.
  21. I vent mine to atmosphere made a huge difference between gear changes. I also shortened the length of the BOV piping made difference. I think it is illegal to vent to atmospere due to noise. I used to vent mine via the plumb back through the turbo intake filter but found this to be too restrictive

    I put mine in via a tee peice. Use the vacume line at the top of the BOV. Cost $10 plus some pipe!
  23. What offset are your rears? I have +38 19x10.5. My rims had to get fitted with a 5mm spacer, the problem was the spacer would go off centre and cause a vibration noise. I had to get bolt on spacers which were min 25mm, now my ears have been pushed out so far they are petruding out from the guard! I want to sell them and get either 10" or 9.5" rears They are AXIS Hiros black with chrome lip if any one is interested.
  24. As above mate Sorry to hear! Shavings can get into your motor and cause even worse issues. I would not drive your car and I would drain your oil and inspect it for the obvious. alot of people on here who haven't upgraded their oil supply line and screen filter eventualy have the same problem as you. If your housing isn't too badly damaged you can repair replace (1250) standard core or you can upgrade to the GTX3582 core ($1700ish)
