The new turbo design has been tested with 100 000 start ups /shut downs with air intake temps set at 650°c, has been spun to 120 000 + rpm all without any failure. Mine you most of the testing was with a diesel cat engine that has a rotor 2kg in mass. This testing on a turbo of that size would mean that a smaller unit would be a very reliable unit eg the mass of the rotor in the gt40 probably would not be any heavier than 500g's. The bigger and heavier a rotor the slower the spool up and more load and inertia on the bearings and shaft. To say Ford will not be using these turbo's is just like all the other new tech Ford has designed and manufactured, eg variable cam timing, stability control, trackion control, 6spd auto gearbox's, etc etc etc. All these things where same where the public had heard rumors then they where released soon after. I say it is a very good chance we will see this new design as it would be of great value to the ford turbo's with less turbo problems related to seized shafts and bearings and other warrenty problems caused by a failed turbo eg engine, IC and sensors. Can someone please comfirm weather Ford will be using the AIR BEARING Turbo or not.

Yeh hope those rear pillars are only stick ons to throw people off. And same with those door panels. I hope that they do get the new turbo design that Garret is working on (Air Bearing 120 000 rpm + capability) I suppose it's a good thing to keep car disguised as much as possible as we wouldn't want gmh stealing idea's before it is released. Like with other things just to name a few Ford XB GT/GS bonnet vents, same car honey comb grill patern, look at all the other thigs like dash design style's com screen and all, head light design's, even the bonnet design which started with the EL Fairmont, Herrod quad exhaust and heaps of other engineering design's. Its a good thing though that there manufacturing/design department can't even get a fuel flap cover right (have you noticed all the crummies driving around with either missing or mismatched colour fuel covers).

I would like to know what is the weak links in the T5 and what makes the T56 so much better? Are the drive shafts or Gears the weak point? Is there any options available to strenghten the T5 without losing drivability or having a noisy straight cut geared box? I can't afford a $6300 T56 at present and I think I maybe needing a replacement gearbox very shortly. Are there any other manual options out there eg Getrag? If so does anyone know costs? Hi Mal Just would like to know if there is any reason why these flywheels don't work loose, as from a couple of quick 6 cyl cortina's I had, I had flywheels keep coming lose and elongating the bolt holes. I used ARP fastners and locktite with no success. I then started to tack weld bolt heads to flywheel which solved the problem. What would stop the BA flywheels from having this same problem? Or is there a a locking girdle or have bolts got holes so can use lock wire them.

So does anyone have a price on a AP twin clutch setup? If you change to a thinner lube it maybe easier to shift but what would the load carring ability be like? I think it would be ok in low power applications but once power is increased I think it would be better to use a heavier lube. Penrite spec 75w - 90w I think.

Yesterday morning had this guy on a bike no bigger than 500cc I think. Anyway he was thinking he was fast so I had to show him that he wasn't. Started from behind pulled along side 2nd then selected 3rd left him sitting. Next lights his looking real hard at my car and must have been thinking it must not be stock with those ap racing brakes. Hers is something I have heard and you can read it as you like. Iam not saying it is 100% correct and is only my therory on what the next turbo ford will be using. I have a insight into the lighter turbo internals at approx 15% lighter. I think Garrett is currently working on a air bearing system that allows the turbo to spool up quicker and also does not require oil to lubricate hence less drag friction. It still needs coolant to keep things from getting to hot. The info states that at very small clearences this air bearing system can far out support the load of a ball bearing turbo at one-thousandth of an inch thick, it can support hundreds of kilograms. The other positive is under max rpm testing it had no problems and may have had more in it if the testing equipment could spin the turbo harder. The highest they could spin the turbo was over 120 000 rpm witch is the limit of the testing machine. It has also been tested at 650 c intake air temp for over 100 000 startup shut downs with no oil and no problems Drag on startup takes 4Nm to turn it. once rotating drag is just 1.5Nm, on shutdown the drag was at about 6Nm Look out no more starved siezed shafts, no more worring about oil carbonising the bearings up. Defently wont need a turbo timer. Maybe it was on these 2 cars seen testing "Hope so".

I have been playing this "Spot o" game with the kids for approx 3 years. What we do is who eva spot o's the best Ford or exotic in the day is the winner. But the twist to it is say you spot o a GT anyone else can smash it if they can see another Ford that is larger in size before the car you spot o ed is out of site. Eg a Ford van or F truck to smash the GT. It's a real bugger when you get something good only to have someone smash it. If you spot o to quick and get a crummydore you lose your best car. I started this from the idea from running on empty movie and just added some twists. It helps keep the kids amused while driving. Also if there is a dispute on who got it, the car goes to my 4 yo . Should try it it's quite fun.

Have never met you. Sorry to here about your split. I know how much it eats you out as have been there before when my 3 littlies where all under 4 yo and while it was I didn't even see or hear from my children for over 6 mths. I was doing everything through the justice system which we all know is like reverse geared. I was very upset for along time and at this 6mth period I was given rights to see my children. On the first encounter I picked them up at arranged point. My wife pleaded for me back and in the end I gave in and set the terms. Hope it all works out for you. Sometimes this is needed so you can realise how much you take each other for granted, and may make your relationship even stronger, then on the other hand it may make you realise how stupid you where with the relationship and make you a better person. I found though when you have no partner you get to hang with your friends more often and play with your toy, in your case Goldie. It wasn't Goldie that came between your relationship as this is what caused my seperation. Wife said paying to much attention to my car and not her and my brother being there when I was playing with my car also didn't help matters. Just would like to know if I reflashed my 2003 xr6t back to its factory setting, would I be able to sell the box for someone else to use or would it need to be reset? The person I am thinking of selling it to is thinking of running very similar to my car setup. Would he be able to use the custom tunes on his car from the flasher? Iam asking this as I am thinking of up grading to the Xcal2. Would I be able to load my custom tunes to the Xcal2 from the flash tuner? What would be a fair price for my capa flash tuner?

Funny thing is you don't see them going to impound idiot who can't drive,You know the one's that can't merge into a continuing lane and stops at end of merging lane and bang you run into them because they can't merge. Strange you are only allowed to do same speed as a Truck or bus and if you do more than 10% the speed limit it is deemed unsafe even thought your std base falcon can stop and handle far better than a truck. Eg my XR6 T fitted with APRacing brake setup would be able to do approx 200kph and stop in same distance a prime mover could at 100 kph. Then you have little miss old granny who's reaction time is as slow as a gmh product and can't react as fast as a younger person in a emergency situation. Its all a big revenue raising scam. Feel for you on this. Did they excede any speed limits to catch you and pull you over? You don't need to Well not to us who arn't desperate and deprived Anyway I had the center muffler remove on mine and can say it did sound good as well made a difference to its power. I have just had a X-Force system fitted which is a bit louder again but has made a good increase in power. Full Stainless Steel and local exhaust shop fsupplied and fitted for $1700. I would give you my old center section but it would work out cheaper for you to go to exhaust shop and get it done than transport cost from Brissy to you. You need to look into what mods you are doing as many will void your warrenty. Your best thing to do is surf this site as it will give you all your answers and if there is something not mentioned all you need to do is ask and this group of great people will only be to happy to help. Now go burn some rubber and enjoy your new toy. PS watch out for as this new car will be hard for you to keep to speed limits as they love to go fast.

Got to make it more than just cav to carpark. That's nearly is as long a cruise as my driveway. How about finding some cool spots to cruise to where we can get some great shots of our cars. What about a cruise from broadwater to fingal via beach front roads where possible and stop somewhere for a feed of fresh seafood for dinner then head back to Broadwater carpark.

Since these I have fitted APRacing 4 pots to front which make the black wheels look even better. This morning this guy in his brand new black 550i tried to run me. I dropped it back to 3rd pulled along side him from behind then hit forth and pulled ahead a few car lengths. That was the good. The bad was I had to feather the trottle as my Excede clutch started to slip. Since my X Force exhaust it has been slipping when it is cool and my boost is hitting 15psi instead of the 12psi it was set at. The clutch is ok when it is only boosting to 12psi but when it boost to 15psi it doesn't want to know about it. May have to look for a better clutch now. So what do these 550i go like?

Hi I need help for my daughter. She has bought a 2nd I Mate Jasjam from Cash Convertors and every thing works bar camera, some games, clearvuepdf, midlet manager, pocket msn, sim manager voice speed dial etc. When you select it it has error message The file camera can not be opened either it is not signed with a trusted certificate or one of its components can not be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this file. She has blue toothed things to it but can't open the video files but music files can open. She wants to try and get it all functioning as she doesn't want to return it. I think all of it is related to these trusted certificate's. I have searched the net trying to find a solution with the only thing is from mircsoft saying that they have had problems with certificates with the windows mobile 5. But can't find any link to update or patch it. I have poor to medi oka computor knowledge and have tried all I can to help her. I have the same I mate jasjam that I purchased new and have done the reset and restore to defaults procedures with no success. I have also fitted my mem card to her I mate and installed files with sycn manager from mine to hers. any help appreciated and if local to QLD Boronia Heights I could come to you if you can help out. My daughter will pay for your help if you can fix the problems. She only works part time so can't afford to much though.
