  1. Just in case its not incredibly obvious, the car passed the Euro II IMR240 drive cycle test with the RTA at Botany. This is the first emissions legal LPG XR6T in Australia.
  2. Have just got home from Sydney. Car is just great, no difference from LPG to Petrol.(except costs) APS knew I wanted to make more power one day and fitted two regulators to the car. Just to give you an idea of the potential here, one of these regulators on an LS1 is known to flow sufficient fuel for 200+ rwkw so I have two!!! :yummy: You can barely see the injectors (they are under the manifold) check out the pics: Boot Install (very neat) I got the 60L useable tank, apparently this is the biggest available for the BA/BF. Hidden injector. 2 regulators (1 is good for 200rwkw!) Fuel switch Regarding fule consumption, According to ECU between North Richmond and Bathurst was as follows: (keep in mind that I accidentally forgot to change from manual on both legs and therefore drove in third for quite a while.) Time 1hr 31 minutes Ave speed 80k Distance 136.5 Average fuel consumption 11.1l/100k's The car used 16.69l of LPG for the trip. 16.69L divided by 136.5 (trip distance) is 0.1223 so 0.1223L is average fuel per kilometer. Multiply 1.223 by 100 and that gives 12.227 L/100 average over the trip. Keep in mind on this leg I was overtaking and doing lots of uphill driving. Next leg. Bathurst to Mudgee via Sofala (More hills and corners): ECU (reset when leaving Bx) says: Trip time 1hour 25 minutes Avrage speed 89k Distance 116k Average fuel consumption 10.7L/100k Actual use: 15.137L divided by the distance 116k is 0.13049 per kilometer ( the ambient temp is over 30 degree's celcius at this stage) so that's 13.0494L/100k's The last leg I cant really measure because I accidentally drove on petrol for some of the distance. Go the LPG! If you can have power and cheap motoring, why not have both.?
  3. I will have this car in Sydney tomorrow and tomorrow night will be staying at Darling Harbour. On the 10th I will drive from Sydney to Mendooran via Lithgow, Bathurst, Mudgee, Gulgong and Dunedoo. I have time up my sleeve so if anyone wants to have a look at the LPG system I would be happy to lift the bonnet for you. I will need to know ASAP as I will fly to Sydney in the morning and will have limited access.
  4. It was dynoed before and after. I actually dynoe'd it in Dubbo pretty soon after picking it up. That resulted in about 174rwkw. Not allowing for all the variances in Dyno's they also did petrol and gas runs in Melbourne. Keep in mind that there is NO DIFFERENCE to how the car works on petrol post conversion as unlike a ring mixer set up, the injectors are just like petrol injectors. There is no restriction. They actually developed my fuel map with the car on the dyno so for a stock T there is no other programming required. The LPG injectors are controlled by the LPG ecu. The LPG ecu takes the petrol injector pulses and injects a corresponding amoun t of fuel. I am going to get a written report, when I do I will post it up. I want an edit, that is the next step we are taking.
  5. Yeah still got the turbo LPG AU, cant part with it after all the skinned knuckles and time. The cost was $4000, but that was because I agreed to the car being used for emissions testing. They (APS and Hilbert) also had to use my car to get the tune right for XR6T's. I think the cost would come in a little higher, but I dont think too much.
  6. We paid $20,750 at auction for my 2005 BA MKII XR6T auto. Cost to me with VSI LPG system included in the price and a UHF radio supplied and fitted was $27,200. Has 79,000k's would have been a $55,000 car new with the options it had. Police took it in September 2005. Car is ex HWP - but that didnt bother me at all.
  7. Hi Folks, I am a regular visitor to AFF and noticed a link there one day to this site. I recently leased a 2005 BA MKII XR6T and had the an injected LPG system fitted by APS in Melbourne. The technical man behind the LPG set up was Hilbert Klaster who has been in the LPG industry for some time. I can tell you the car makes more power on LPG than on petrol. I am picking the car up tomorrow (in Sydney) and will be happy to post some pictures when I get it home. I googled for XR6T on LPG and there was some old threads here from this site. I though some of those people might like to know it has happened. Happy new year!
